Hi all I have searched the forums and have not found anything that helps. I am using FreeDo with the FreeDo_Loader I found here on this forum. I am also ruing it on Windows 7. The issue I m having is that game ex does not load the rom, it just loads the emulator and thats it. because I get an asci error when I load the emu outside game ex i implimented the sendkeys {ENTER} to remove the dialogue box in Game EX, I think this is the cause for the wrapper failing but there is no way for me to remove that pesky dialogue box because there is no correct asci drivers for windows 7. The emulator works fine outside gamEX config file log file Last played file any help would be greatly appreciated regards

And just like that I can clearly see the issue, The rompath was incorrect. From now on I will use runitgame logs to check for faults. Case closed Thank you for your help. Massop

Hi All, I searched the forum and could not find the answer. I am setting up Game EX on my new gaming machine and have just done a fresh install. Whenever I try and run a mame game I can briefly see the mame32 UI loading the game but then it exits to game ex. I looked at the log and nothing seems out of the ordinary accept this 18:17:46.9 23/03/2011: Running: cmd.exe /c E: E:\Games\emulated\Mame32\MameUI32.exe 64street -rompath E:\Games\emulated\Mame32\roms -nowindow -joy I notice its running the E: two times, I checked and double checked paths in basic/advanced mame settings and all is fine. Mame32 runs fine outside of gameEX here is the whole log file fyi Sorry I dont know how to post that code box thingy. Thanks in advance

Thanks man this is great, i was not too satisfied with the last ivy pic in the dreamcast .bak, this ivy is much better

With this nice little emu i can get ffx and ffxii working almost perfetley along with some other titles, and yesterday i finally got it working in gameex - Make sure you disable the console window within pcsx2 first. this config uses deamon tools to mount an image before opening pcsx2 but if you use alcohol you can edit accordingly. Enjoy. Massop Pcsx2.zip

O.k 2Joy11::Send !{F4} worked fine but only outside of gamex which i find very strange, but i left that and did the advanced config for Project 64 V2.ini and added this into the script after activating it in gameex ( i left out the notes ) MapGamePadExit=true Left= Down= Right= Up= Button1= Button2= Button3= Button4= Button5= Button6= Button7= Button8= Button9= Button10=True Button11=True so as i understand it if i press buttons 10 and 11 while i am playing pj64 it should exit back to gameex. but it does not work at all, nothing happens, I have definatley activated this within my pj64 "advanced configuration" I know i have probably done a n00b error somewhere. thanks
-
thanks for your help man, i did try the "!" before but i did not try it on the same line as {F4}, but i think the advanced config option is probabley better. i will try this when i get home again, thanks

i am having trouble with autohotkey. and it is driving me mad. i want to be able to exit emu's within gameex by pressing the L3 and R3 buttons on my playstation pad (R3 = btn10 L3=btn11 ), so in autohotkey i am trying to map them to Alt and F4, sounds easy? Not for me, here are the scripts i have tried 2Joy10:: Send {Alt} 2Joy11:: Send {F4} this does not let me press them at the same time it does one or the other so i tried this... 2Joy10:: Send {Alt down} KeyWait Joy2 Send {Alt up} return 2Joy11:: Send {F4} and this still does not work, it does activate Alt and F4 key but not simultaniosley, I have tried a lot of different variations of the 2 settings but no joy, i did get it to work when i put a semicolon on the Send {Alt up} line but then i can do anything else as the keys are presed down forever. has anyone got this to work? please help. thanks

right....... after opening almost every single game i have finally got zinc configured.... yay this configuration is for the psx and dual shock pads. the S11.cfg/KN1.cfg..etc files are not named propely because i was making names up as i was configurimg the buttons, but for the peole who want to setup zinc with playstation pads do the following from the attached file.. 1. copy the over the ini's 2. copy the controls folder to the directory where zinc.exe is 3. copy the cfg's in "Config" to the directory where zinc.exe is dont forget to backup these files before doing this... for me nologic this is definatley golden, thanks man INI.zip

you da man man, i will try this when i get home

this is great. IMHO i dont see the need to configure combos, it kind of takes the fun out of doing it yourself, plus i wouldnt want my friends beating me up on streetfigher ex pressing just a single button ( we are talking about ingame combos right? ). o.k i downloaded your controls.zip file and i understand what config goes with what system, but how do i impliment them into your current wrapper? i have an idea but am not too sure and i dont want to mess up my current zinc setup as it took me ages to get working within gameex. sorry for being a noob
-
50% not bad for a noooooob lol

Adultrey, Thanks for your help man. are you using playstation controller with this config because it is exactley the same as my controller.cfg. i think you are right, the only namco games that run at full speed with my zinc is tekken 1/2 and soul blade but the buttons dont work with them, but here is the strange thing.. if open zinc outside gameex ( zinc Gui )and reconfigure the controllers for the 4 button namco games using tekken 2 to test, and it worked fine.... all the buttons and full speed, this is a very stange problem, but to be honest if it is only namco games that dont work under zinc in gameex it is not all bad because they work fine in mame, ( though i dont have soul blade yet ). is there a way to setup multiple configuration's within the controller.cfg in zinc i.e zinc knowing what games are 4/5 button and applying the relevant config for it autamatically? the reason i ask this is because games like techromancer and battle arena toshinden work fine but the buttons are assigned all wrong. again thanks for your help. massop
-
hey sorry for bumping this but i really need help with this. zinc works fine in game ex for all my games but some games like tekken, soul blade etc the controls dont work at all accept for the coin and start buttons. i figured that this was because these are 4 button games so i made a new controller.cfg file and mapped the keys according, then in the individual ini files i pointed all the 4 button games to my new controller.cfg ( controller4.cfg ) but the results are still the same, only coin and start work. has anyone got this working properly with all games? thanks
-
??? what ??? that makes no sense. at all.... if you just want to talk beef then go to the tekkenzaibatsu forums.

O.k after having a very late night trying to get zsnes working, I did it ( yay ) what i did was just delete EVERYTHING and re-download/install zsnes and the roms. then after that i followed lingpanda's and Adultery's advice and now it is working perfect. thanks for the help guys ( i am not a noob really ). I am almost there......

thanks for your help Adultery i really appreciate it. - i think you are right about the minimizing thing. lol - the gens thing worked fine, thanks man - the zsnes thing did not work, i disabled the gui in the zsnes.cfg file but gameex would still not work with this, i also set show desktop to yes in the advanced config for zsnes and this still did not work, is there another setting in the zsnes.cfg i should be changin? - i think i understand the 7zip setting in gameex now but i cannot get this to work. i have a complete set of genisis rom 7zip goodmerge, and i have unzipped a few of the files to test if they do actually work which they do. when i enable the goodmerge option in advance config the roms do actually appear in gameex but when i try to play a game nothing happens, it wont let meselect the game to play within gameex. am i doing somethin wrong? thanks for your help massop

I have a registered version of gameex, i have setup most of the emulators i want with it but i am haveing the following problems. - gameex - Sometimes when i open Gameex it opens then automaticallly minimizes itself, in fact this happens a lot, is this a common problem or is it my machine that is the problem, idid look in the log file and there is nothing in there to say that something is wrong. i am using the valhalla skin btw - virtua tennis PC - this is not really gameex related. i have 4 usb gamepads which i use on my machine which work fine with every other PC game/emulator just fine, but when i try config the buttons it will only work with one of the pads, i.e i configure player 1 just fine but when i try and configure 2-4 the moment i input a command for these it puts the command i used previosly. ex. for the lob button i assign button3 for this action, but when i assign the next button ( shoot ) button3 gets assigned to this even though i pressed a different buttonand this happens on players 2-4. i also tried to use joy2key but virtua tennis only lets you use 1 player for the keyboard. - Gens - I am having trouble getting this to play full screen. i edited the cfg file in gens where it says fullscreen=0 or 1 i changed this to 1 and it does work in gameex but the moment i exit and start again it has totally forgotten the setting. i know i have probably done a noob mistake. but i cannot figure it out - Zsnes - i am using the config for this from the configs section, i have changed all of the rom paths/directories. the problem i get is when i try and load a rom from within gameex the screen goes black for a couple of seconds then it goes back to gameex i have tried almost everything and no joy. i have attached the log file from when i try to load zsnes within gameex - 7zip - this is more a question than a problem. what does this option mean? i thought gameex would unzip the 7zip file and show all the roms within gameex rom menu, then allow you to play the roms even if the emulator does not support 7zip. if that is the case then i cannot get this to work but i have only tried this with zsnes wich i already have a problem with. i have done a search on the whole forum and nothing has helped me with these problems ( accept the chankex wrapper problem i had - headkaze you da man- ). please help me guys. thanks log.txt

O.k so could I use this to browse through/use the Dvd/Music/Emulator Menus within GameEx? or would I have to use the imon app to do this?

o.k well my buget is quite big for the next project, i will be building a micro ATX machine so P4's are out of the question since they get so damm hot, i recon the Intel Core 2 DUO E6700 "LGA775 Conroe" 2.67GHz (1066FSB) cpu would be best for emu ( i am right in saying that? ) in this small system as i am told they are the coolest cpu's ( cool as in temp ). thank for the info guys really appreciate it.
