Thanks Tom!!! Even though I hate when it crashes.....I can live with it. If you look at the above posts I've went days without a hiccup (165), and that is with the family entering/exiting tables and really beating on it. Maybe the moons are aligned when I run 165 but It only took a few hours with 167 . Once again great programming/product, I'm happy to be running it on my cab, and gameex on my MAME cab. Z

Grrrrrrrrrrrr, back to 165 which seems the most solid for me. Z
-
So far so good.....upgraded to 165 and that was solid for the last 5 days. I installed 167 this morning and that seems solid also. Usually the acid test is coming in and out of tables and spinning the wheel right/left. (164 would not last 60 minutes) Z
-
randr, I see the same exact problem from time to time, only when scrolling through the tables. I'll also try 1.65 like Tom suggested. I'll try to keep track of which PBX version I get the crashes on because it did seem to go away for a few versions. Z

Subscript out of range line 230 AnPlNewPos So out of 200 tables I've seen this problem maybe twice and Koadic's 2nd suggestion has fixed it previously: http://www.vpforums.org/index.php?showtopic=24521&hl=%2Banalog+%2Bplunger+%2Bscript+%2Berrors The odd part is the tables works fine outside of PBX....why would PBX cause the issue?? So now I load up the new Ripley's, and the first thing that shows on the DMD is.....4 Balls Missing with a countdown from 20, then the table seems to hang. Alt -Tab and I see it's because of the subscript error above, but copying the code as before, does not fix it this time. Loading Ripley's outside of PBX and it works fine. I'm going to xpost this to the VPF forums also. Vpinball rev677 and PBX 1.64. Z

VP flipper problems with PinballX/B2S.exe/DirectOutputFramework combo
zeenon replied to imagamejunky's topic in General
junky, The stuck flippers, were you on DOF beta 1 or 2 when you noticed the problem? Edit: I am officially done with steam. So after attempting to get the "steam" version of PBFX2 working and tired of getting the "steam is already running" behind PBX, I gave up and went back to my old stable version of PBFX2. Oddly enough I fired up CV and wouldn't you know it - stuck flippers!!!! I know I tested most of the tables junky had issues with when he first reported the issue and did not have a single problem. So looking back I only install DOF beta 2 and changed options in steam. So I killed the steam process that starts up with windows and poof, stuck flippers gone. FYI running an i5, nvidia 660, 8 GB RAM, win 7 64 bit. Z -
F%^#€£?!!!!! S#%^%^!!!!!!!!!!! All that time spend today troubleshooting a stupid problem....so I goto the PBX setup GUI and notice there is no applaunch under the parameters field. HMMMM why is that. Somehow I deleted the 's' in parameters. I'll post a corrected PBFX2 section later, but it's the standard one everyone has posted before. So all the tables I've tested so far work without issue...... My only problem now is getting the exit keys squared away with vpf controller. Exiting a PBFX2 table is horrible, it takes 2 presses of the button to bring up the PBX menu to exit. If I goto exit game within PBFX2 it just exits to a black PBX screen. Z

junky, I'm just trying to launch pbfx2 at this point via pbx. - If I run this command from win7 "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\Steam.exe -applaunch 226980" pbfx2 starts. So at least I know I'm not going crazy. - If I look at the properties of the pbfx2 shortcut it runs steam: //rungameid:226980. So I'm betting I have the right magic # now. - I was using the pinballfx2.exe that was in folder3, but then I opted to disable the LaunchBefore in order to focus on getting pbfx2 to start within pbx. Does the pinballfx2.exe script do anything else other then select the right table? (I figured I'd work on getting fx2 to launch inside pbx then add the script in) - I didn't know there was an online/offline mode? I'm connected wireless to the internet at all times. [System_1]Name=PinballFX2Enabled=TrueWorkingPath=C:\Program Files (x86)\SteamTablePath=Executable=Steam.exeParameter=-applaunch 226980LaunchBeforeEnabled=FalseLaunchBeforeWorkingPath=D:\PinballX\ScriptsLaunchBeforeExecutable=PinballFX2.exeLaunchBeforeParameters=[TABLEFILE]LaunchBeforeHideWindow=FalseLaunchBeforeWaitForExit=FalseLaunchAfterEnabled=FalseLaunchAfterWorkingPath=D:\PinballX\ScriptsLaunchAfterExecutable=ledset.batLaunchAfterHideWindow=TrueLaunchAfterWaitForExit=False

Thanks Junky!!! I don't know where the disconnect is....that config is similiar to horsey's but all it's doing is loading Steam up behind PBX. My xml is PinballFX2.xml hence the no space. I goto my zen.xml in PBX, it pulls up the images (wheel, table, BG), I select Star Wars, it goes to load and jumps back to PBX. When I exit PBX there is a Steam window open. [System_1]Name=PinballFX2Enabled=TrueWorkingPath=C:\Program Files (x86)\SteamTablePath=Executable=Steam.exeParameter=-applaunch 226990LaunchBeforeEnabled=TrueLaunchBeforeWorkingPath=D:\PinballX\ScriptsLaunchBeforeExecutable=PinballFX2.exeLaunchBeforeParameters=[TABLEFILE]LaunchBeforeHideWindow=FalseLaunchBeforeWaitForExit=FalseLaunchAfterEnabled=FalseLaunchAfterWorkingPath=D:\PinballX\ScriptsLaunchAfterExecutable=ledset.batLaunchAfterHideWindow=TrueLaunchAfterWaitForExit=FalseEdit: what is odd is if I run C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\Steam.exe -applaunch 226980 (from win7 not pbx)......pbfx2 comes up.

Can you guys that have your PBFX2 working as individual tables on the wheel post your pinballx.ini file? (Just the System_1 part) I have the old "stand alone" version working with the below but have since purchased all the tables and have to launch via steam. [System_1]Name=PinballFX2Enabled=TrueWorkingPath=D:\PinballFX2TablePath=D:\PinballFX2\data_steamExecutable=Pinball FX2.exeParameter=LaunchBeforeEnabled=TrueLaunchBeforeWorkingPath=D:\PinballX\ScriptsLaunchBeforeExecutable=PinballFX2.exeLaunchBeforeParameters=[TABLEFILE]LaunchBeforeHideWindow=FalseLaunchBeforeWaitForExit=FalseLaunchAfterEnabled=TrueLaunchAfterWorkingPath=D:\PinballX\ScriptsLaunchAfterExecutable=ledset.batLaunchAfterHideWindow=TrueLaunchAfterWaitForExit=False

VP flipper problems with PinballX/B2S.exe/DirectOutputFramework combo
zeenon replied to imagamejunky's topic in General
junky, Did you add this to your B2STableSettings.xml file: <B2STableSettings>....<ShowStartupError>0</ShowStartupError>...</B2STableSettings>This suppresses the error message if no backglass file is found...possible that window that pops up is causing the issue? I understand what you did above, just don't know why you had to use a .exe and .directb2s file to make it work. Z -
VP flipper problems with PinballX/B2S.exe/DirectOutputFramework combo
zeenon replied to imagamejunky's topic in General
So I tried to reproduce this problem and can't (I forgot to add the B2S as my controller when using DOF so that was one of the reason I needed to test this) - I just tried one table (CV) so far, and before I switched the controller from VPinMame to B2S none of the toys on the LedWiz worked. - Once I changed the controller line from vpinmame to the b2s controller, I saved and fired up pinballx and everything worked. - My backglass exe is set to "true" on all my exe tables - Currently using VP rev652, PBX 1.59 and 741 in DOF mode. Z -
I've seen the same five tables under the information screen under Most Played for a while now, does anyone else see this? Looking in the statistics.ini file there are many tables played (and times played reflects this) more then the most played list. It is like it stopped grabbing the info from statistics.ini in early .5x builds. Running 1.59 currently. Z

Karaoke - previews only, exit back to gameex if played
zeenon replied to conundrum2k's topic in General
Thanks for this post, I've struggled to get the karaoke working in GameEx since I first installed it. I think the "Use Microsoft video mixing...." is the fix for the karaoke window that opens and closes right away. There should be comment added in the gameex karaoke settings window for those with win7. Z -
Yep, read my post I ran into a similar issue with the key set to nothing. http://www.gameex.info/forums/topic/13377-how-to-exit-with-options/#entry109217 Z

Sorry Tom, redownloaded and unzipped over .156 and it works. I have no idea how that happened....I even rebooted after I unzipped .157 the first time and it still was crashing. Z

olis, There are a few version of TAF for FP which one are you using? Also if you are using Win7 does enabling or disabling win7 aero change anything? Z

This looks to be fixed in 157 but, 157 crashes constantly on my system (Win7 64 bit) when I'm just browsing the wheel. I copied back the 156 which works fine. Z

PinballX Enhancements/Features Requests
zeenon replied to Draco1962's topic in FAQs, Guides, & Other Useful Information
Features Requests (some of these may be bugs, but boarder on features) 1) When starting a VP table you need to press start or coin in to exit. It seems like the VP table does not have focus when entering the table for the first time. (verified fixed in release .157) 2) I need someone with a cab (and controller) to verify that the labels are wrong in the joystick input settings. This is cosmetic and not a function issue. It's just confusing when Win7 says you are pressing button 6, but PBX says it's button 7. 3) The ability to print the info from game manager in a neat table format. (Example Table name, year, manf, (VP/FP/PFX2), whats missing, b2s.exe or directb2s, etc 4) The default loading screen over FP loading screen. The PBX loading screen should be active until the FP table loads, right now it's the PBX loading screen, then the FP loading screen, and finally the table itself. 5) Possible bug in font and startup image. User downloaded font/startup images do not show up.(verified fixed in release .157) Z -
Can someone confirm this is working in 1.56 or not? Fonts also. I copied a .TTF font to the D:\PinballX\Media\Font and it is still showing the default font. Z

This is the KEY!!!!!! The Exit Emulator CAN NOT BE BLANK!!!! I set the Exit emulator to Button 13 via the ini file, and it no longer exits when pressing the Pause button. That is the way it seems...but it is not. For some reason PBX uses different buttons then joy.cpl. For example pressing my Exit button shows Button 7 in PBX and Button 6 in joy.cpl and FP. The below screen shot is the way I have it working now. But I would like to see some fixes when Tom has time . 1) When starting a VP table you need to press start or coin in to exit. It seems like the VP table does not have focus when entering the table for the first time. (verified fixed in release .157) 2) I need someone with a cab (and controller) to verify that the labels are wrong in the joystick input settings. This is cosmetic and not a function issue. It's just confusing when Win7 says you are pressing button 6, but PBX says it's button 7.

pocket, Somehow I introduced a bug....... Quit = Button 7 Exit Emulator = blank <<<<<<READ BELOW this can't be blank>>>>>>> Pause/In Game = Button 7 In FP and VP, hitting the exit button now brings up the PBX menu, this is what I wanted. (although I think there is a focus bug, because you need to hit start or coin in, before you can exit, you can't go into the table and got right to the exit menu) I'll worry about that later. The bigger issue is pressing the PAUSE button exits out immediately in FP and VP. (Well in FP I see the leader board then it exits back to PBX) I can not see where to stop the exit at???? In FP the exit is blank and in VP the exit is Q. Z
-
I think this is more a problem with your hardware and not PBX. Did you use another front end before PBX that let you change it on the fly? On my cab the Video/Rendering options are the same for every table. Z
-
Well, it's been about a week since I've used HyperPin and switched to PBX and so far it's been rock solid. My only big issue now is, I can not get the exit/pause working correctly. Let's start with FP: If I'm in FP and I hit the exit button, the table exits immediately back to PBX. (This works but I'd rather have a menu..Return, Exit, etc.) If I hit the pause button, I get the FP pause menu AND the PBX menu (Return, Exit, etc) This one is a pain because I have to hit pause like 4 times to toggle the FP pause menu off. The nice thing about the FP pause menu is it shows the leader board. So how is everyone else configuring FP and PBX? In PBX: Everything works. Exit brings up the Return, Exit, Shutdown menu In VP: Let's get FP working first Another thing I've notice, and this may be a simple labeling issue, the joy.cpl buttons do not match the Joystick input setting LABELS in PBX. Maybe someone with an iPac can double check. For example, pressing my exit button is button 6 in joy.cpl but button 7 in the joystick input settings. It looks like this is only a labeling bug and not a functionality bug but I'm curious what other users are seeing.
