  3. Hi, thanks I got the files, Ill make them available to everyone to look at shortly.
  4. Hey Yes, lets wait until I run out of steam a little.

OK, lets do that, could you please send me an email first, so I have your details. Cheers. Tom
  6. I think your saying the app runs fine, but does not exit correctly? You may want to try turning off MAP Keys setting.
  7. Can you play the file StartBak.avi in the Default - Default Purple\Media directory? If not you may not have the correct codecs installed.
  8. Probably if you setup a CMD line app as an emulator to play these files (I dont know whats out there) I was wondering the other day what is out there to allow this, as I like SID and MOD's Anyone know, tried, or any ideas???

Sorry, I did not seem to receive them. Do you want me to set you up a personal FTP account?
  10. Looks correct to me, but Ill try it out on mine later. I would like to say though that your mistaken about GameEx only being able to play defined playlists. To do what you want to do just select the All Music playlist then queue up tracks. The All Music playlist is a special playlist, that loads all tracks then allows you to queue up whatever you want. At lleast it should!

Photoshop is fine. I can accept upto 50MB every ten mintues with email automatically, and that's being conservative.
  12. Very slick indeed Love it!

One word, Lush and Awesome! Sorry that's two. Youve got some talent there my friend. I know exactly what you are asking and it is already on the list. Basically which is to allow differenet background (both animated and static) for different emulators. It also seems we need to have another Font option. You can already do the banner and background for Daphne by using daphnebak.bmp, and you can remove the text where it normally states laserdisc just by replacing that text in the config app with a space. Youve certainly inspired me to implemented the required enhancments sonner rather than later. Do you think you could upload or email me the background images and banners on there own for me to play with? Thanks.
  14. Thanks for your thoughts CJ7. It does make a lot of sense. I agree, and am not ruling that out for the future.
  15. Thanks for the backup everyone. djrobx, GameEx really should not be slow on a P4, .net actually runs pretty fast in most cases. Could you please explaing how and when it is slow. Thanks.
  16. I kind of feel like I am repeating myself on the concept of bloat. I would like to confirm on initialisation GameEx does not:- Initialise the DVD Player, Initialise the web browser conponent, Initialise Videos, or anything specific to Radio, pictures, Weather etc etc It does initialise the bass Audio library, and does initialise Windows Media player if you have the Juekebox enabled. It also initialises DirectSound and DirectInput It also Loads every single MAME ICON, and saves this to a bitmap, if you have not launched GameEx within the last 3 hours, and if you are using MAME ICONS. It loads all images for your theme, but not the logos. It also creates fonts dynamically all as DirectDraw surfaces. Prety much everything else it does on initialisation is just setting up variables and configuration settings, and just loading the form. I think you will agree these are all core requirements, and nothing more. I am not saying memory could not be optimized or load speed further improved in the future, and I am not even ruling out there is a mermoy leak somewhere but if these are an issue for you, me removing functionality will not help you one bit. Just make everyones use and my development of GameEx more complicated and time consuming. I do my best and try hars to make GameEx work with as many systems and OS's as possible, and this takes a high priority with the project, BUT you not being able to afford a better PC, better CPU, or bigger Hard Disk is NOT my problem. If GameEx runs slow on a farily modern good system, it's likely a bug or some kind of incompatibly, and should be dealt with as such.
  17. Just doing some Admin. This issue should now be fixed in latest versions.

I do like this idea. Probably something for the future. Are there any public domain ICONS out there I could use, anyone know? Thanks
  19. If you disable the features you dont need they wont be used. You will not get any benefit in speed with a 'LITE' version. Only possible benefit would be saving about 2mb of hard disk space. You also would not get any benefit with RAM usage with a lite version. Just disable everything you dont need. You will notice the biggest difference with disabling HTML apps, the jukebox and ICONS. Perhaps you can explain in detail where and how GameEx is slow, and that would give me something better to work on.

In case you did not notice, check the latest version.
  21. You dont use them. At least theres no way too in GameEx.
  22. Something that just occured to me. By using the ROM Filter setting you should be able to filter ROMS to a further extent rather than just the file extension. Wildcards are supported. Suppose you just wanted to list USA games you could use this filter: *(U)*.zip Have not tried it but all wildcards should be supported. For (E) and (U): *(U)*.zip;*(E)*.zip Hope this helps.
  23. It depends how slow your talking about, but generally it does take a little while. It takes about 4-5 seconds for both Daphne and MAME on my fastest system, which is an optimized install 3400 Athlon 64 1 gig. I dont think your doing anything wrong, yourll probably have to put up with it. It can take a while to return to GameEx if you have a radio station playing, as it has to reconnect. Although not for MAME.
  24. 12th June 2005 - GameEx 4.06 Fixed bug where configuration application would not save or took up to 90 seconds to save on some systems. Videos now support m2v files. New menu option in Videos to 'Play All'. Which queues up all videos in the current directory. Suitable for a Star Trek, Buffy, or Bond fest! Now supports video snaps for all Emulators and Daphne. See: http://emumovies.com (very cool, especially the daphne ones) Animated transition when starting a video. New theme included in install courtesy of Antony Firewalk. This theme is currently my personal one of choice, and the start page has an animated background also provided by Antony. Antony is busy working on other cool themes. Check the forum for the latest. New graphics in GameExSetup.exe
  25. Great! Thanks for testing. I guess thats a good excuse for a new release this weekend then Been busy in the real world so wont be a massive update, but there are more than a few enhancments that will be included. Cheers.
