I thought as much that the culprit was windows 10. I know the op said it was the GameEx update but I suspect Creators edition installed on his machine. Could you do me a favour and see if the guide button works for exit? That uses xinput rather than directinput.

Addresses a minor but annoying issue when using custom keyboard controls such as an IPAC and searching in the list or via the search page.

Glad you got it sorted. I have not used Nod32 for several years and I know it was always supposed to be the go to solution but it can be very heavy in certain situations. INI reading and writing was incredibly slow with it as were 7zip extractions. I also had issues with it locking files when I was building Inno setup packages. It did honour excluding folders though so I am guessing that's what you did.

Thank you for the feedback. I made a couple of minor optimizations to some for loops and the main changes recently was running the MAME.exe verify only on ROMs that were in the list and running two mame.exe verifies concurrently (two threads). So verify on specific roms only rather than everything and multi threaded. About time, right!?

No worries. A custom menu editor for registered users would be a nice touch though in the future.

For your information the prices are higher because you are in Europe and because of EU red tape on digital goods I have no choice but to charge VAT at each countries rate and pay it individually to each European country. You and I both get punished for that and its related operational issues like this which is why its not cheaper. My accounting bill alone is $3,500 a year and its well optimized. I'm on the fence about it and didn't vote but if you wonder why seemingly intelligent people voted for Brexit, there not crazy its things like that. I know the Americans don't get it but you did have a rather big war over taxes. Brexit is not a whole lot different to your own independence.

I'm really not sure on this at all. Sorry. Remote access software such as VNC and TeamViewer can cause slow downs like this when in use but otherwise I don't know. You could also try increasing video memory in the BIOS.

Hi, Its not currently possible to change the start menu with arcade edition other than enabling/disabling items in the setup wizard. What you are looking applies to regular GameEx.

The usual culprit of this is that pinballx has videos playing when VP is launched. That is what the hide DMD/Backglass/Topper settings are for in the Game Manager.

I'm not really sure why its not working for you right now sorry. I did notice an exception in your log though while emulators where loading.

To restore the games you use GameEx online. The install location may be the issue in that GameEx does not have full access to it. Just a thought.

Looks like a .net framework issue. Did you uninstall the .net framework 2/3.5? What os are you using?

Its probably your PinMAME setup has an invalid NVRAM path.

This issue happens when windows 10 updates to creators edition 1 or 2. The solution normally is to go inside the GameEx folder and find the ttf fonts right click them and install them,. Its because creators edition does not allow fonts to be installed via a shortcut by default. Microsoft introduced this new feature. The issue should be fixed for new installs of GameEx but existing setups have this issue.

Speed increase to MAME list update. Fixes for latest MAME version.

Just change the folder path and turn off automatic artwork downloader.

Not the nicest way to ask for help really but in order to help you please attach log/log.txt and config/gameex.ini

It was Ubuntu. Its probably only me that's messed with it. I have not tried it for a long time so there could be multiple issues with it. There's really not much point to run it in Ubuntu other than for the hell of it!

I'm able to install it, launch gameex and the setup wizard although I just get a black screen when I launch GameEx. Might be because I am running in a virtual machine though.

I'm testing this now.
