  1. I've just started using your method for making a snapshot of my hi-score screen. It works very well! By default Mame saves a rather small sized snapshot. If you want it to be bigger (which I like) here is what you should do: 1) Go to Options > Default Game Options 2) Select the Miscellaneous Tab 3) Deselect "Autoselect snapshot size" and change the snapshot's size I changed it to 1280 x 1024. This can be changed to any size Just a little contribution Happy Hi-Scoring ! GC EDIT: please hit "Apply" after you have unchecked "Autoselect Snapshot Size". You should then be able to change the resolution of your snaps

  3. Hi RIP-Felix! Long time no see. Glad to see ya around! So I believe the answer to this question will depend on the video plugin you're using for Project64. I have two different versions of Project64 using two different graphics plugins. Jabo's Direct3D8 1.7.053 Go to: Options > Configure Graphics Plugin On the Settings tab and select the appropriate Full Screen Resolution (as your likely aware the system originally ran at 640x480). Glide64 'Napalm' Public Release 1.22 Go to: Options > Configure Graphics Plugin On the Config tab select the appropriate Resolution Click the Wrapper Settings button Select the appropriate Full Screen Resolution (Note that this one also gives you the opportunity to select the refresh rate, I go with 60Hz) Good luck Felix. Hopefully the one of the above covers your scenario, but if not it will most likely be some similar derivation of the above.

  4. I think it's all completely ridiculous. I have a Kindle Fire. It's great. But if I buy an app for Android (which the Kindle is), I can't install it on the Kindle unless I've jailbroken it so I can install non-Amazon approved apps. Yet if I were to install some 3rd party hack to use my Kindle fully, I'm breaking the law, could go to jail if I'm caught, and can be fined like $250,000 all because I legally bought and paid for an app that I couldn't install. If you're curious, I'm speaking of the Marvel app (which is free). They don't have a Kindle version, and the Android version cannot be installed without first jailbreaking the Kindle. I don't want to jailbreak the Kindle though because if I ever need it serviced, I've voided the warranty and any support I could get. This is also true with stuff like Xbox 360 modding. It's illegal to modify your console to play backups. But it's legal to make a backup of a game you own. So how are you supposed to be able to play those backups (for protection of your originals) without first "jailbreaking" the xbox? And I'm a big supporter of 3rd party programming. There's things people have designed and programmed for the Xbox which is great, but you can only do it if you've modified the console to allow running unsigned 3rd party code. It shouldn't be illegal to enhance the capabilities of the console. I don't own a cell phone. But if I buy a cell phone for $300, I'd like to be able to use a carrier that I want, which has decent coverage and support for my area. I don't want to be limited to the type of phone I can get based on what carriers are available for it.. I should be able to get a really nice phone and a really cheap carrier if I wanted. As it is right now, the cheap carriers are limited to the $20 phones at the grocery stores. I want their services but not their phones. If jailbreaking an iPhone will give me access to a pay-as-you-go plan of $12 a month, I'm all for it. Governments need to just relax and realize there are benefits to circumventions that aren't all negative.

  5. I believe that GameEx runs through WINE on Linux, which is itself a Windows emulator platform. Yo Dawg ... I heard you like emulators? Now you can run your emulator frontend through an emulator so you can launch your emulators while you're emulating. A smashing good time was had by all. Oh hey, back on topic > this project looks like a really killer idea. Keep us posted Draco!

  7. For duplicate and missing entries try the following: Close Steam then rename ...\Steam\config\config.vdf to config.old Open Steam again and Steam will create a new config.vdf This previously fixed it for me when I was testing for Tom As for the missing artwork: Delete ...\GameEx\DATA\steamdata.ini and anything in the following directories ...\GameEx\MEDIA\STEAM\BOX ...\GameEx\MEDIA\STEAM\SNAP ...\GameEx\MEDIA\STEAM\VIDEO GameEx will then read you new vdf and start again, creating it's database and snaps
