  1. Wow, I finally finished my cabinet!! The cabinet name is 'Metacarpal Madness.' Which was because I broke the 4th metacarpal in my right hand trying to drill out starter holes for the coin door. My wife came up with it. I think mostly out of mocking me, but it stuck! haha I think it turned out pretty good. I have a main power button on the control panel and also a bottle opener on the side. That was a must! The control panel can be removed for ease of moving through doorways. I can post more on it if people like it. I uploaded a few photos of the end result. I am now looking into some finishing touches. Are these things really ever done!?! They are a nice hobby though, that's for sure. I have always wanted to get a spinner and a couple of aimtrac guns from ultimarc. But, with my daughter in daycare our funds are a little tight. I already have a wii and 4 rechargeable wiimotes, which i actually use to play mame on my ipad at times. I am wondering if anyone can direct me to a site of reference where I can get a step by step guide on setting up the use of wiimotes in mame, as well as using them in the Nestopia emulator among others. In the end I think I will have a spinner on the control panel and purchase the wheel attachment at ultimarc. That way I can at least play a little pole position or APB without too much trouble. I put 2 USB ports on the outside of both sides of the control panel, in anticipation of the aimtrac guns and other USB items (ipod, etc) Max

  2. I am finally down the home stretch of a revamp of my original Space Invaders theme., It will be a full 1920x1080p theme, with some noticeable differences, yet the feel is pretty much the same, but better IMO. Changes/enhancements include: - Cleaner, nicer looking selector bars. - Enhanced graphics on display areas of theme to have that familiar CRT somewhat smokey green glare. - Added "moon" behind the foreground layer to give a little more dimension and depth and familiar with most Space Invaders cabinets. - Removal of the drop-down tool bar. - Change to white Atari Raster font. - Changed Statistics and Updating pages from stock to theme-based images. - Revised Error Dialog and Dialog boxes to be more theme-centric - Removed Image2 display on bottom right and converted it to RSS scroll, Date, Time, and Weather notification area - More changes to come... Here is a sneak peek:

  3. To combine MAME and Zinc lists you'll want to use the appropriate settings in the Setup Wizard. See here for further details. In order to pull off the rest of this organizational structure, you'll be looking at creating your own custom menus. Regular forum contributor DazzleHP has created an excellent tutorial for getting started with Custom Menus. It's been a while since I've opened up the custom menu editor, but you should be able to accomplish the remainder of the organizational goals you describe here using that tool. Good luck man!

  4. Hey, Welcome to the forums, I find the easiest method to do this is to open up the theme your using in the theme editor and click on the theme piece called menu and look at the X or Y axis on the left hand side and change to 2000 this will remove the menu from your theme providing your not using custom layout/custom emulator layouts. This method should remove the options entirely. There are also options in the enable/disable features section in the setup wizard to hide change view etc.. , which you may find more beneficial.

  5. This is the best I could do at the moment due to the limitations with my laptop not having any media. I used AAE as a brief look as to what the theme looks like when used in GameEx. The selector bar hasnt been done yet, and I may add more to the main psd. maybe add more detail.

  6. Congrats to our latest MOM... HanSolo77! Ever since we started to honor the Member of the Month here at GameEx, it's becoming increasingly more difficult to select someone to honor. It's not because there aren't enough good members around to select someone, but quite the opposite! There are so many great members here, that it's hard to pick just one. I mean, I know that being a MOM is really more like being an intern, except it's harder to deliver the coffee. That doesn't mean we don't appreciate you all for everything you do that makes GameEx a mainstay for many. With that being said, it's rare that someone just comes right to the top and no one gives it a second thought. This is definitely one of those occasions. Does that mean the nomination is overdue? Yes, probably. Maybe that's why I was flattered to be offered the opportunity to make this announcement. If you've been around for a while, you know hansolo77 pretty well by now. Maybe you've taken a quick jab at him? Perhaps know his story, and how much he's overcome in his personal life to just be here? Or maybe you recall his work on getting some of the more obscure systems working and left his work for everyone to enjoy. He's always been there for help with testing when I've needed him, and I rarely hear him ask for much (if anything at all) in return. let alone offer help and insight to those who happen by. Very few people in life come along with such a helpful disposition and such brilliant advice. We're thankful to have one around. So without any further delay, we salute you hansolo77. Keep on keepin' on. Congrats buddy, you really deserve this honor.

  7. I've done roughly about a further 15 emulator screens for this theme, I've also attached a few of them.

  8. Gamepimp. I think it is possible. If I were you, at first I would try it on a virtual machine. If everything goes ok, do it on the real hardware. If not, do it manually.
