There is a lot of info out there from Terry Red about setting up PinEvent V2 tables which are the latest upgrades to his FP tables. He uses Pinup Popper as a Front end.  I have  a 2 screen cabinet and all current systems (VP9, VP10.7, VP10.8, FP) work fine.  The main thing about these PinEvent V2 tables means that the backglass and Arcade Mode must be turned off before launching a PinEvent V2 table.  That works fine for me outside of PinballX.  I can do it manually.  I thought of making a copy of FPLoader.exe to be called FPLoader PE.exe for PinEvent tables and make that another emulator in PinballX.  The problem is this turns the required settings off, but they stay off.  I have to manually go into one of FPLoader's each time to turn back on the backglass and Arcade Mode for all the non-PinEvent V2 tables.  Is there any definative guides on settings in PinballX that allows for regular FP tables to run with backglass and Arcade Mode on, and then having a different setting for only the PinEvent V2 tables?  Terry Red has created batch files for his PinEvent V2 tables.... Should I just use one of these in the Launch Before/Launch After area of PinballX..... Running PBX 7.00 and all my FP tables run and so do the PinEvent V2 ones if I make the required changes......

Probably.. but can you post a link to those batch files first? They might need some tweaks.

(sorry, i don't have FP on my setup anymore after a rebuild, so bit out of touch with FP developments)

I agree with scutters. Terry’s scripts can work well, but they often need a bit of tweaking depending on how your cabinet and FP setup are structured.

A clean approach is to use an unused field in your FP system configuration (for example the <type> tag) to mark tables as PE or NOPE. With that in place, you can create a small Launch Before batch file that reads this parameter and automatically copies the correct Future Pinball settings files before the table launches.
That way PinEvent V2 tables get the required “no backglass / no Arcade Mode” configuration, while your regular FP tables keep their normal settings, without you having to manually switch anything.

It’s essentially the same idea behind Terry’s own batch files, but more integrated into PinballX and easier to maintain once set up.

A few extra tips that might help:

  • Keep two separate FP settings folders (e.g., FP_Settings_PE and FP_Settings_Normal) and let your batch file copy the right one to the active FP folder before launch.
  • Avoid duplicating FPLoader.exe, it tends to cause the exact issue you described, because FP stores its settings globally, not per executable.
  • Test outside PinballX first, so you know your settings swap works reliably before integrating it into the frontend.
  • If you use DOF, make sure the correct DOFLinx or DOF settings are also loaded depending on the table type.

I don’t use FP as often these days, but this method should be perfectly doable and keeps everything clean and automated.

These are what is in Terry Red's AIO document.  Thank you for replying!  I have tested both of these batch files and they do the required changes and start and run FPLoader.exe.  I have attached the settup wizard screen from PBX but unsure if the Launch Before area can run a batch file rather than an .exe ????

Oh yes the launch before and after can run a batch file as well..

Remove from the last line of the batch files the fploader command. That should be done by the system of pinballx (what you have in the top part)

This is what I added to my PBX using the batch file created by Terry Red and removing the start FPLoader.exe command.  It worked well for my regular FP tables...  Now I will set up a new "Other" emulator called 'Future PinEvent' and make the required changes to remove the backglass and Arcade mode.

I was thinking you could possibly put these screen shots in PBX Documentation as examples of adding 'Launch Before' commands

As these are very specific to the PinEventV2 Future Pinball tables, including them within the PBX documentation may not be preferable.

I do think that it is worth archiving for future reference and updates buy pinning within the FAQs, Guides, & Other Useful Information subforum. :)

Thanks for sharing this with the community!
