[RESOLVED] No startup sounds with latest PinballX ver 6.58

as the title states, I have not startup sounds with this version.  I have tried it on multiple machines, no sounds play.  This is when installing onto of an older version if that helps.  Thanks

I tested, and I have launch sounds with the latest Version 6.58.
The only thing I noticed @Tom Speirs is that when playing a table and exiting, it will not play the table sound at that moment.
If I switch to another table, it works. To be honest, I never noticed this before, so maybe it has been this way for a longer time.

You must be right. I just use the original startup sounds, and that's still working for me. I hope @slydog43can give more info

i just tested. i can confirm its working fine for me too.

note: There is a setting to turn it on and off.

Having copies of the requested support files would help to determine if the setting is disabled, right?

you are supposed to attach the files buddy... Hard to search or test it without an actual file..

However, searching the entire web page in my browser shows you have it enabled.

Only thing i am aware of is table browsing sounds override the startup sound.

What sounds are we talking about ?pinballx startup sounds? Table sounds during browsing, table startup sounds ?

It seems that none of the PinballX sounds are working, is that correct?

 

Could a recently installed program be interfering with the audio? I presume the sounds work correctly within a standard Windows environment?

What is your current audio configuration? Is it stereo, Dolby 7.1, or 5.1?

My Realtek 7.1 system works perfectly with the latest PinballX version; I've tested it on two PCs with no issues.

If the problem occurs across four different PCs, it might indicate a Windows-related issue.

PinballX is totally muted?

Bit of a long shot as 4 pc's are affected, but is there any chance you've muted PinballX in windows? (you can check in volume mixer from the system tray speaker, or use sndvol.exe from Run) - note to see PinballX in the apps listed it needs to be open and running.

getting somewhere, I can't play the startup.wav in windows.  at least i'm getting closer, yeah

 

I just put another wav and renamed it launch.wav in startup sounds and it plays, yeah.  Can you please uploadthe original startup.wav, thanks

 

I guess I need launch.wav also, so strange as flipper.wav still works.

Are you copying the PinballX installation from another system or performing a fresh install each time?

Attached is the launch.wav file from D:\PinballX\Media\Startup Sounds. I am not able to find a file anywhere in the PinballX directories with the name startup.wav however.
