[RESOLVED] PBX 6.56 crashes when launching tables

i have no loading video's but it crashes on all tables for me after update to 6.56

Can you post your log file after a crash ?

Also attach your pinballx.ini

Are you using vpx 10.8 as well ? If so, Dx or GL  ? 

Is it with all tables, or just some specific tables you encounter the issue with ?

nearly all tables, doctor who for example was working fine withe the former version.

log file also says full screen windowed, but isn't

trying pinballx 10.8 , think candidate release 6 cause i have troubles with sam.vbs  ( still have)

both the x64 and GL versions behave the same

I split this to a separate thread from the one involving loading videos in possible event cause is unrelated and triage of original thread can continue unmuddied.

Your logfile only shows a start and exit of PinballX, not launching a table that is cause a crash. Can you reproduce the issue and post your logfile?

As a general rule it should be understood to open a new thread to report an error or bug vs. adding to an existing thread unless otherwise requested.

Your logfile only shows a start and exit of PinballX, not launching a table that is cause a crash. Can you reproduce the issue and post your logfile?

This was after launching a table, and why seperate. problem is 6.56 crashes like topic starter. doesn't matter if you have loading video's attached or not. it just crashed while loading a table. version 6.55 worked like a charm

Can you please download and install 6.55 on the same system and confirm the issue does not exist there? Thanks.

It is running full screen windowed even though you have that turned off. This can be enabled under certain circumstance. Namely using b2s or pinmame in the frontend.

i rolled back the change affectting loading videos and am releasing 6.57 now.

This resolved my issue. Everything with a loading vid is loading again. Thanks, Tom!

No hurries. This is another reason why we suggest separate threads. 💯 Upgrade to the latest version as soon as you are able and report back with your results. If still an issue, attach new copies of your pinballx.ini and log.txt files in your reply.

Oke, version 6.56 . when i want to start a table, like doctor who. it is skipping everything and goes to my desktop without start menu. i don't see any loading screen either( pinballx logo with moving ball ) and no visual pinball is loaded. the log is the same as provided before.

version 6.55 works as is version 6.57.

I don't know what was different in version 6.56 but with the newest version problem has resolved

been lurking around since hyperpin was to complicated and pinballx came to the rescue

and in between i had no pinball machine for some years. i had an arcade machine with gameex

My suggestion was not a rule in as much as strong suggestion to help keep existing triage efforts as clean/clear as possible.
