What purposes could this monitor serve?

I am a little skeptical as I have seen several URLs/company names associated with this product upon various searches and adds on FB and the price is not terrible but I think similar product can be found.

Anyone familiar?

I wasn't looking for anything this fancy but I did purchase a portable monitor for my PC repair business. Knowing I have a working connectable device helps quite a bit when working in a customer's home.

I don't see a need for a touchscreen portable monitor this big when I can just buy a tablet. I can see uses but this screams to me "I have more money than sense". :)

Touchscreen does add a bit to the cost no matter what, but can be great if someone is building a bar top system with touchscreen enabled slots, trivia, or other similar emulation, not to mention jukebox solutions.

BTW, what make/model portable monitor did you purchase if you don't mind me asking?

I had to go find the post for the details. It's in the basement right now and I'm too lazy to go check at 3:00 am!

It's a Sunfounder 10.1" LCD. They're about $135-$150 new so I was keeping an eye on eBay for a used one. They always seemed to go for $80-$100 used. Back in July I found one for $100. The title clearly was generic as it stated "(Pi not included)" but the pictures were not generic. They clearly showed a Pi4 attached. I took a shot. So for $120 shipped I received a Sunfounder LCD, Pi4 2GB and a 32GB SD card. Excellent deal. I added a $25 battery bank so it would be truly portable. I wouldn't have to worry about plugging in the wall wart that came with it.

It has become a centerpiece for when I go out on calls but not in the way I ever intended... I do take it with me but I rarely need it for testing (but when I do need it I'm glad I have it). See, I left the Pi4 attached and added 2 of the SNES-style USB controllers I had lying around from other projects. Now it's a 2nd portable RetroPi setup. The battery bank powers everything for HOURS. It's a great conversation piece while we're waiting for Windows to re-install, that driver to download, kids getting riled up with a stranger in the house or when a client is just being ultra-fidgety. It has become that "distraction tool" and "dead air conversation filler" I never knew I needed.

Image is from the initial setup back in July. I have the battery mounted to the back with double-sided velcro. I use a Playstation Messenger bag from my gaming collection to transport it around.

Awesome idea! I noticed the under monitor power switch - I have several myself, with one about pushing 25 years. They just work so why not?

How funny, that caught my eye as well.  I had to enlarge the photo just to ensure that’s what I thought it was😁

I've had that Power Center for at least 25 years. I'm pretty sure I got it when I got my first PC in 1991 but I'm not positive. All I know is it has outlasted one marriage and it is outpacing my current marriage. ;)

That's about when I got mine along with my first PC - a 386DX and a first marriage survivor.
