[RESOLVED] Issue Win7

 Can any one help I keep getting the attached error when installing pinballx on Win7 see photo.

Is it a new install or an update, and what version is being installed (the normal PinballX version or the xp/vista version [32 or 64bit])?

If an update try deleting flash.ocx and running the installer again. 

(i'd also be tempted to click ignore just to see what happens - but that's just me!)

Hi its a new install, i have even rinstalled windows and installed issue occurs as i install Pinballx, even tried as administrator and still have same issue.

Would not having Activex installed cause the above issue.

Does the installation complete after clicking Ignore? If so, try the steps noted here:

The instalation completes after clicking ignore, I can delete the ocx  out of the Pinballx directory, but the program will not load up at all, I can get into game manager and settings both open up and work OK.

Can you post your log.txt as an attachment?

Don't you have the log.txt in the same directory ?
this should be created after you launch PinballX for the first time.

Did you install .net core 6 (see https://dotnet.microsoft.com/en-us/download/dotnet) and also installed the dependencies for W7 ? see: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dotnet/core/install/windows?tabs=net60

Pinballx won't launch, I have service pack 1 installed.

I will check the others tonight.

Does it creates an app error eventlog ?

I have just installed net6 but still have the same issue as my first post when I install.

Looks like you might need to install KB4457144

(or you could try the PinballX XP/Vista version that doesn't use .net core 6)

 

But why a new install with win7?!

PinballX - Windows XP/Vista - PinballX Install - Spesoft Forums (gameex.com)

(it's still up to date, so not really an older version - it just uses .net framework)
