[RESOLVED] Controller not working...sometimes

I have installed the last version of PinballX using an XBox One wireless controller. When I use pinballX with a pinball FX3 list it works perfectly but when I use any Virtual Pinball list the controller works sometimes but the most of the time I must use the keyboard because it doesn't respond. This only happen in PinballX's menu. When I start any table (using VPX), the controller works again . Anyone Knows what happen?

Please post your logfile when the issue happen.

I dont have a xbox controller, so cannot test it.

But my cabinet has an usb controller that acts as a joystick and thats working fine

You may also need a program to assist with encoding to keyboard inputs.

Definitely attach a copy of your log.txt file right after attempting to replicate the reported issue. Also, if you can note whether or not you experience the same issue with the controller outside of PinballX for VPX.

Thank you for your answers. I attach a copy of my log.txt file. I've started PinballX and I've navigated by the FX3's tables (with the controller without problems) and by the Virtual Pinball's tables (with the keyboard because the controller doesn't respond here).  I haven't started any table.

I've tried the solution of the thread you mentioned but the problem continues.

And I have only this problem in pinballX. In the settings wizard I can configure the buttons without problems and in VPX works perfectly. And, of course, in Pinball FX3, Pinball Arcade, etc.

That's very strange.

Your English is perfect. I'm not native English as well and for me it is sometimes hard to help people, as I cannot say what I want in English.

Anyway.. I don't understand 1 thing. So, your xbox controller is working fine in pbx and you can browse to fx3 and launch it, if you return to pbx, it isn't working anymore.

Is this correct?

No. When I am in Visual Pinball system it doesn't work (or only sometimes) always and must use keyboard and when I am in FX3, FX2 or Pinball Arcade system it works perfect.

Hmm. Really odd.

I see in your config file 2 pretty high numbers for the joycodes : rotate and exitemulatore.

Not sure if that has to do with it, because it is working with Fx3 system.

Maybe tou can test something else as well:

Disable your visualpinball sustem and add a manual system and setup visual pinball.  Just to check if that is working fine

I'm not able to do that. I've disabled Visual Pinball (OK) and I've added a manual system called Visual Pinball 2 but this new system doesn't appear when I init PinballX. I attach the setup. I don't know what's wrong with it.  By the way, without the system visual pinball, no problem with the controller.

You also need on gamemanager.exe or Databasemanager  (see download section) to add 1 or 2 tables.

Databasemanager will add it easier for you

I did it copying one xml list from "Visual Pinball 1" to "Visual Pinball 2" folder. All the tables appear in both Game Manager and Database Manager but not in PinballX menu.

Not sure why your Visual Pinball 2 system doesn't appear in PinballX, can you attach a new copy of your config.ini and a log file?. Did you did rename the xml list when you copied it?

For the original problem (controller works in PinballX for all systems except Visual Pinball if i understand correctly), i notice you have use B2S and use pinmame both set to True in settings - as these settings would be used when viewing the Visual Pinball system in PinballX it could be the difference. I'd try disabling both those options.

SOLVED! As you say, I've disabled B2S and the controller works. Thank you very much at all of you!
