tthurman
Here's the controller only version if you don't need the pi. Shipable, which I've discovered is odd for microcenters https://www.microcenter.com/product/623128/atari-dual-fight-stick-with-trackball-usb?storeid=029 Actually, there's a good bit of Atari stuff, I had no idea! Sort of makes you wonder what's up with their other products if they already items such as this. https://www.microcenter.com/brand/4294820795/atari <edit> 3B case looks pretty sweet, I'd get it if my Pi-Hole didn't already have one. Draco1962
They also have a USB button hole spinner available. Would like to see more reviews but it is a cheaper solution than others offered. I like that there is a ton of room for a smaller SSD for storage within the CP and it is obviously inspired by very similar Pi in a Tankstick projects. https://www.hanselman.com/blog/retropie-and-xarcade-tankstick-the-perfect-retro-arcade-plus-keybindings-and-config-and-howto
hansolo77
I honestly think I'm going to order this to go along with my VCS.
RIP-Felix
XArcade Tankstick with a rasberry pi preloaded and configured out of the box with officially licensed games and ATARI branding. I can see the appeal, so long as it's compatible with PC as a usb controller. You get more bang for your buck. For some reason however, I question how flexible the controller is to PC arcade users. The tanksticks allow you to customize the button scheme, which can be useful when certain keys cause issues.
Draco1962
My guess is that it is fully customizable for either the Ultimate (RPi version) or Normal (no RPi). Some decent write-ups on Atari Age: https://atariage.com/forums/topic/311563-atari-ultimate-dual-arcade-fight-stick-with-trackball/ https://atariage.com/forums/topic/310986-my-new-arcade-stick/ The initial video is a little confusing as the reviewer is noting no problems with PC but some lag and low sensitivity with the trackball when using the RPi. It isn't clear whether or not the Ultimate with RPi is for standalone use or not. If not, then those wanting to use one as a controller for PC/Cab or Xbox 360/One controller would probably need to get the one without the RPi. Needless to say that I will be researching further as I would prefer to have the best of both worlds in one rig. Per Amazon.com "Broad Compatibility. Works with PC Windows 10/8/7/Vista/XP, Linux, Mac, Android, Raspberry Pi, PlayStation 3, Older Xbox" but this is likely for the non-RPi enhanced versions. ClassicGMR
I ordered the Twinstick version and a spinner. I'm on vacation right now so I won't be able to play with it until next week. Love the look and was $99 on special. Spinner was still $50. They didn't charge me tax though. Weird but I'll take it.
tthurman
Damn, $99 !!! That's a deal, still shows $150 for me.
Draco1962
Still on the fence. Do I ask "The Fatman" for one for Christmas or do I take my existing Tankstick from my GameEx rig and adapt it for use with an Rpi 4?

Personally I would get a new one. I had zero interest in pulling my Tankstick from my fully working, fully set up, it's the way I want it, DON'T F**K WITH THAT OR YOU WILL PAY arcade cabinet. The Atari stick is a nice stick. I haven't had much time to mess around with it but I like it almost as much as my Tankstick.

hansolo77
Hopefully they'll still have them in stock after the Christmas Holidays, or at least be producing more. I'd still like to get one but can't afford it right now.
