So ive search alot, and theres alot of information out there, new and old. So far if i just use PBX game manager with the names of the games as is, i get a bunch of repeated images on the starwar , marvel and footboll games. If i edit the names in the game manager, for example, removing the marvel, starwars and fotball part, i do get the correct artwork but, when i try to luanch the game, it takes me to the main menu instead, sometimes i even get redirected to pbx menu again, so at this point im here asking for some help. Thanks in advance.

Edit: The problem with the games loading and quiting back to the main menu, was, not running pbx in admin mode. I still get some games that don load directly and WMS games i cant get the correct media nor can play them in full screen, but i guess thats just how the games are as every other system games loads full screen just fine.

Guessing here, but do you have Enable File Matching set to yes in PinballX\Settings.exe (under General Settings)?, if so try changing that to No.

Please attach your Pinballx.ini to and log.txt files to issues, it helps cut down on the guessing!

Also, you may want to attach a copy of your xml file(s) for those games that appear to have repeating media.

You can also try to use Database manager.
This saves the images as the file name and not as the description name (you need to save every entry again, to get them renamed, or remove all your wheels, and bulk download them from FTP).

Just noticed this
I thought you had issues with art work.
So, your FX3 has the cabinet mode enabled ?

I used @joyrider3774his FX3 launcher to also slect the amount of players per table and arcade or classic mode.

If you don''t use this launcher, you need to setup FX like Tom described:

But this only works when cabinet mode is unlocked within FX3

Also try  PinballX Database manager as an alternative way for gamemanger

Sorry if i get all confused when trying to explain as well. Let me start over, I do have a problem with the artwork,When downloading the artwork withing pinballx game manager, i get lots of wrong artwork, marvel and startwars, they all get the same artwork. If in game manager, i rename  for example, MARVEL_Guardians to just Guardians, i download the correct artwork for each game, but, when i open pinballx and i choose a game, pinballfx3 takes me to the main menu instead of the game (yes i have cabinet mode unlocked) . So (going back to the wrong artwork) if i choose a game when i have the wrong artwork, the game just loads fine, directly, i got my set up as toms mentions.. Hope it makes sense.

Ok i found a way to make this work , since pfx2 and pfx3 share alot of game names, (mine does) i just used the fx2 xml and renamed to fx3 , i copied all of the media from fx2 to fx3 and now all the wrong media games are good, and when choosing a game pbx takes me to the game as it should. I still  cant download any media for the universal fx3 games, (bttf,et,jurasic park). So is just a workaruond, hope ill find hot to get the rest of the games art correctly downloaded, ill atach the new fx3 xml.

Nice ! I thought that database manager downloaded the correct artwork from ftp for fx3.

And if you have run it from steam, it will add the tables automaticly

So i uninstalled pinballx and saved all of my previewpbx folder as bkp, to be honest i dont mind doing all from scratch again and again, so i installed pbx again, so i can use the databases that come from the installer, im using the game manager to see what it does on both, pfx and pfx3, to see if is really a bug. Ill report back later.

Wll, i just tried twice, with a fresh install, and can confirm that the game manager downloads the wrong  media for pfx3 with the regular xml that come with the install, i also tried diferent xml files and the problem persist. I dont have money to donate right now so i could have acces to the ftp, but i think i can come up with something later on today., and hopefully that would make things easyer.

Well, as shown in your ini file you do have file matching enabled;

[FileSystem]
EnableFileMatching=True

To be honest, i'm not sure if that setting is used within Game Manager as well as in PinballX but i suspect it is. Try turning that off.

As Mike suggested, also try PinballX Database Manager ( a replacement for Game Manager)

A great little app (but i may be biased! ;))

Thanks for trying to help, i did try file matching on and off and had the same result on both, i believe pbx uses that but not game manager. Also tried to use the database manager, but without an ftp acces is pretty much useless as i dont have the option to download the artwork. Unless i misiing something so i will double check.

You can also download artwork for MEGA sites. In our support thread, there is a link for wheels from Joey.

I think you miss something if you think that you need FTPfor making a difference ;)

So using database manager, a regular fx2 and fx3 xml and some mega links i was able to fix the games with wrong artwork and the ones with none. Also i looked into the pbx ini file and found the last game entry, modified that to the game i wated to start every time and closed the ini, so i hit properties for the ini and set that up for read only, now pbx starts on my game on every boot. Seems like its all working now, now i have test play game by game. I know i have problems with tom and jerry and freddy a nightmare on elm street, but thats another topic if i dont get them to work. Thanks everyone for helping, and thanks Mike for the exelext piece of software.
