[RESOLVED] GAMMEX Arcade Edition

i am using gameex arcade edition for my MAMECAB, however i know that it is not updated and the mame stops at 0.197b ??? why?

Can I use GAMEEX standard? Or will I have problems with the configuration on the cabinet and arcade monitor?

Sorry, I don't follow you. MAME stops at 0.197b? What exactly is not updated? Your mame cab?

Again, not sure what you mean. It definitely should work with the latest version of MAME. I pretty much guarantee this.

if I insert the complete romset 22,000 rom version 0.210 many games are not recognized and are not listed

That could be because not all 22000 are actual arcade games. Many are mechanical, such as pinball. Those will not show up via GameEx Arcade or standard GameEx, regardless of your MAME version if you are using the integrated MAME support. 

If you choose to set up MAME to run as a separate emulator, you can probably gain seeing all the ROMS in the menu that the latest ROMset has to offer, but it will not be pretty, they will not be any more playable than launching from the emulator directly.

yes i know what you mean! but i got 2.200 game .... missing a lot of game such as Sega rally for example...

At this point I will ask that you please attach copies of your gameex.ini and log.txt files (NO copy and paste please) so that we can look at your setup and make some recommendations.

I do not run GroovyMAME, but usually the MAME.exe is located in the GroovyMAME path which I could not locate in the gameex.ini or see referenced in the log.txt file.

The location is D:\MAME   mame64.exe (is the groovymame file )   i tried also to put in  in emulation/mame path but doesn't work

Im testing with latest mame now. Sorry, your initial post was very vague and strange, 

You are saying there is issue with latest MAME version?

I wasnt aware sega rally is now working in MAME. Are you sure it is just not a non working game? GameEx filters out a lot of games by default. Did you know that?

You should get more than 2,200 games though which is why I am testing.

I can confirm I can find no issues. If you wish to list all MAME games excluding mechanical but including all the junk and not working you should use regular GameEx and disable all the filters.

I found a bug that is fixed now in 15.72 available shortly.

This affected arcade edition with merged rom sets, It was missing games. Thanks,.

No problem. Don't expect Sega Rally in arcade edition though as its flagged as not working.

ok i have update to 1.73  ... for example "bubble bobble" is missing ad other many important game i don't know how is possible

Your probably going to better not using arcade edition then so you can turn off all the filters.

Also, silly question probably, but you did update the list hopefully.

the update of the list does not take place automatically at start-up?

No. You have to enable Update List in the Setup Wizard then select it from the main menu when you load GameEx or Arcade Edition.

Also, be sure the version of your ROMS matches the version of MAME you are running.

If you want a game to show that is getting filtered, you will need to know the ROM name and manually enter it via Setup Wizard under Do Not Filter These ROMS, enter the rom name separated by ; and then Update List again.

OK ... WITH ROMSET 0.197 working GOOD.... so I gave up on the idea of using the new romset....

 

i have e trouble also with Demul (naomi 1-2 emulator) and Zinc .... but i'm pretty sure that i can solve it

0.197?  Why are you running such an old release?

Is it because within GameEx setup wizard where you go to load emulators that 0.197 is the version listed?

If so you can easily replace this with the latest release.  Those emulators are just what was around at the time.  There's so many emulators that it's really best just to go grab the latest release and not even bother with that "add emulators" section unless you want to do it entirely for directory structure, as in keeping it where GameEx would default it to.

That being the case just replace the installed emulator with the current one from the developers site.  The way emulators are updated it would be cumbersome to continually go back and keep them all updated here.
