[RESOLVED] MAME CHD Files - Not Showing in Game Ex Mame List / CHD List

Looking for a little bit of help in CHD setup. I finally got around to getting a higher end PC with an updated graphics card, so wanted to play some CHD games that I've had the ROMS/CHDs for - but never could play in the past.

Currently, I have the file path to be - EXAMPLE: MAME>ROMS>blitz99.zip and MAME>ROMS>blitz99 (file folder - where CHD resides).

I can run MAME independently of GAME EX and get the games to play, but can't seem to make them appear in GAME EX at all. I can't find them via the SEARCH and they don't show in the CHD menu either.

Any thoughts on what's going on?

Please provide your gameex.ini and log.txt so we have some insight to your config.

First off is this set to yes in the config?

it will log crashes etc., and may provide info as to why.

Start Menu > Program Files > GameEx > Utilities> Log File

Did you do a full update to GameEx?

Not sure what you're asking me for... an update to the overall program, or an update to the games list?

hmm, well I must be missing something, you've got the rom spit from the chd file, which resides in it's own named folder too. Seems like it would be something like a simple setting due to this.

Right. And again, if I click into MAME.EXE by itself, I can run and play the games just fine. I can't really figure it out. They also won't show up in the SEARCH list within GAMEEX - it shows NO GAMES FOUND. But they're listed on MAME.

The last file you gave is is the gameexonline.ini file? How about providing us with the gameex.ini and log.txt (Click here for additional information on how to find these files and others that may be required).

In defense of kwagner101, I believe he actually did post his gameex.ini. My settings file looks like his insofar as the [gameexonline] section appears before the [general] section.

@kwanger101: Would you kindly try disabling the Verify ROMs setting on the MAME Settings screen to see if that makes a difference? You'll want to rebuild your MAME listafter having done so. It would also be helpful to post a copy of your log after running GameEx with adjusted settings. You can find the contents of your log file by going to Start Menu > Program Files > GameEx > Utilities> Log File or by navigating to ...\GameEx\LOG\log.txt.

You are correct. I just checked mine as well. Must be a recent addition. I stand corrected. We do need that log file, though.

Find your GameEx\DATA folder and DL the SS DATA.zip then extract it there. It will overwrite your history.dat and mameinfo.dat

Then in GameEX execute Update Game List option.

It might fix the problem when that process has finished.

Hey all.. sorry for the silence. Didn't have a chance to mess with my MAME all week and Gameex. The VERIFY ROMS - was the issue. I disabled that and the CHD games are now showing in the list! Thanks for your help!
