hmm your not going against me...I stated I didn't like the wireless version P2900...but I do like the wire version P2600. *Update* Well I didn't exactly say I didn't like it...just that I run into issues with signal loss that prevented me from being able to recommend it. Tho I do think you ran into worse issues that I have with the P2900...now there was a wireless version prior to the P2900 that had ungodly issues...mostly battery related tho signal loss was also very high on the list.

Okay not to steal anyones thunder...cause frankly I don't know if my method works better or not...just not into the use of shortcuts. Well I'm going to go hide now. *Update* Added a formated settings.xml below in code tags...VivaNonno didn't generate a readable one...so <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <root version="2"> <general> <graphics texture_format="2" texture_reduction="0" gamma_correction="0.648000" black_level="0.000000" white_level="1.000000" frame_skip="0" no_wait="1" show_fps="0" interlace="1" interlace_level="96" texture_filtering="1" depth_bias="1" texture_mipmap="0"/> <sound enable_sound="1" playback_freq="44100" buffer_size="100" volume="0.500000"/> <control> <joystick> <axis handle="X" gas="2" brake="3"/> <button coin1="8" coin2="9" clutch="4" shift1="12" shift2="14" shift3="15" shift4="13" shift_up="7" shift_down="6" test="0" service="1" view_change="5" pause="11"/> </joystick> <keyboard> <axis/> <button/> </keyboard> </control> </general> <game> <RidgeRacer/> <RidgeRacer2 no_time_up="0" system_type="0"/> <RaveRacer/> </game> </root>

Well I own a few different gamepads. Logitech Dual Action Gamepad (Nice) Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2 (Very nice) Saitek P2900 Cordless (Nice) I'd prefer the P2900 if it wasn't for the loss of signal at times...so cordless I'd suggest the Logitech Rumblepad 2...plus with Logitech you have more freedom to place the receivers where you want them. Now with a cord...I'd lean towards the Saitek P2600 even tho I don't own one...mainly for the same reasons that hansolo77 made mention of. If your a fan of the xBox 360 controller...I personally haven't toyed with the 360 so.....but you have two options...Microsofts own products for Windows in ether cord or cordless format...or Saitek Cyborg Rumble Pad, which might be nice as well as you can switch the Dpad and Left Stick placement...I haven't played with that product ether...but Saitek does make nice products. Needless to say I can't make any sort of recommendation for ether of these pads.

I haven't watched it since it originally aired...and I was fairly young at the time.

Lets not take this discussion in that direction.

bkenobi - If it sounds like I'm well connected....trust me I'm not...just been around a while. slipstream19 - Good deal, it'll help keep me out of trouble.

Well I haven't gotten to crazy yet with the use of Xpadder...tho I do still highly suggest its use even if I'm falling behind (like normal). I'd use whats called a null profile...basically a profile that doesn't have any of the gamepad buttons binded to any keyboard keys...while in GameEx...thus letting GameEx map the keys normally. Basically use "Launch After" to set Xpadder to use the null profile once you exit the given Emu. Then as needed configure each Emu to use Xpadder. No Xpadder doesn't support Analog truly...it uses a algorithm to cycle between keys to try and emulate Analog...however most Emu's don't use the repeat rate of keyboard keys to measure 0 to max...they simply are ether on or off...no real degree's of... So I'd suggest if the Emu supports Analog...that you use its support if possible...and bind to keyboard keys as required. Also its suggested to try and get as many Emu's to mimic the others keyboard bindings...this way you can use fewer Xpadder profiles...which will lead to less issues when trying to trouble shoot things. Anyways don't take my word as gold...think things over your self, and hear the idea's of others...my mind isn't that great...hehe what I think is a good idea today...is likely a shitty one tomorrow.

Actually i fair better with graphic's than I do code...however I am very rusty right now and slowly getting back up to speed. I can model and render in Maya and to a much lesser degree in 3DMax...however sound is not in my bag of tricks....but I can probably string together all the required assets and hand it over to some buddies of mine in the PC gaming industry and talk them into putting the final touch on things. If need be I can resort to talking to some of my old contacts in the music industry....tho we'll have to be hard up for that other wise the little lady...is going to be none to happy with me. This will be down the road tho...we need the databases done....and my current icon set finished...before starting on something else.

*Wild applause*

LOL DOH!@!

Well I can add in the code to mount images in daemon tools...tho more than likely it would be generically applied to all images...so all would end up getting mounted...unless I get mildly more creative. Anyways your welcome, and I'll look into things...but still kind of in the middle of doing all those graphic's.

ahh thought you knew about that one. For cab's its likely to be a blessing as you generally don't need to unfreeze then refreeze the system that often. HTPC's I'd be a little more leery of...as more content is generally dumped on them more often. Anyways good find and certainly worth a mention as most probably don't know of it.

Aready have a LIC Well its the best because its the only one that encourages me to post...and bitches when I remove a post\attachment.

Thanks for all the translations guys, it'll really help bring in a wealth of new blood and talent.

Oddly enough I'm more interested in the v3 theme support, even tho I have no current plans of creating a theme.
-
I haven't written anything newer...haven't looked through the code...but there are bound to be improvements to be made. Anyways no I never did get that collection of configs put together.
-
I'll see about installing Vista on a virtual PC and see if I can figure out the problem...it may have something to do with the way Vista skins\draws its windows.
-
bkenobi is correct the map file will need to be manually edited in a text editor.
-
actually yes its because of the map file so you'll need to sync with that as well.
-
Hehe I think if I posted whats actually up and running on my system right now most would be underwhelmed. I'll look into doing this, but it'll be a bit...one need to get the icon's and databases done first...then I need to scramble and get more stuff up and running so I have something respectable to show.

Well I'm not sure if I'm a pro...and I certainly know I shouldn't give advice as I change my mind about the proper way to do things all the time. I'll say this much don't use ePSXeCutor if anything use Delta...much nicer frontend for ePSXe. That said try not to go to many executables from GameEx...as it becomes messy and difficult to trouble shoot. I won't bash the use of Batch scripts as they do their thing and do it well...you can do everything Batch scripts do in AutoIt and more...I'm not totally in the know about AutoHotKey, but I do know that its better at a few things than AutoIt is...and vice versa. I think AutoIt is a more simplistic lang and hence easier to learn for the novice...but if you got a coding background then AutoHotKey should be simple enough to pick up, there is also WSH scripting...but few, if any use it so I'd lean away from trying to use that one as you're not as likely to find quality aid for it. Really in another year I should be a pro and be able to give some real advice...but right now not really.

Well hopefully we'll also be doing name matching with no-into as well...in general most should still match up. We can simply add another field for no-into names then Tom could parse the files and make a comparison as to which field (goodxxx or no-into) is best matched and then use that one. So keep doing what your doing...if anything we can probably generate a renaming utility based off the fields in the databases. As long as you are using a standard we can make things work out some how.
-
Well there are still a few that need to be fixed up for GoodMerge that Stu hasn't done and I haven't gotten around to. If you want to finish those up then go ahead and submit to Tom for inclusion\replacement. We can refine things later on...over all most seem to prefer the new ones...even in the current state they are in. We'll have to sit down and shot the shit about what and when for the next stage...right now I think its just a matter of wrapping up what we have thus far...and calling it good for the betterment of the community.

slipstream19 - Its working fine on my setup...tho more tweaking is likely in order. Stunts38 - Generally but in this case my loader forces the window to top level in z-depth...even tho this should work smoothly since its using D3D as the rendering engine....but its encapsulated in a Mozilla class form.
-
ahh your using vista...run the loader as admin...it should work then.
