  1. Happy birthday stigz!
  2. Thanks tthurman. I might have directed you to the website at some point. I know I've posted about MMMM a few times on here. He did bring a lot of joy. Dude was a gem. My first time there he showed me his tooth that he had tattooed. He was quick to give out quarters so you could check out a new machine he got in, and he would tell you all about it if you showed interest. It wasn't about making money it was about sharing his passion, and collection, and making people happy doing it. That second video was awesome. You really get a feel for the museum aspect. Thanks for sharing!
  3. The owner of my favorite arcade/oddity museum died on Sunday. Marvelous Marvin was the nicest guy you could ever hope to meet. He always had a smile and a kind word. The last time I saw him he gave my boy a bag of popcorn for free just because that's the kind of guy he was. He had a fantastic collection of coin-op stuff, and all kinds of other weirdness. The best part was you could play with everything. The ticket games were loose and, unless you really really sucked, you could walk out of there with a decent haul of candy and assorted little toys. They also have a fair amount of pinball machines, classic arcade games, and some newer games as well. Rest in Peace , good sir. If you find yourself in the metro Detroit area I highly suggest you block off a few hours to check the museum out. Here's a link to the story from the local NBC affiliate.
  4. Ohhhh I got chills watching that trailer. I tried watching X-Men Apocalypse today and I couldn't do it. What a steaming pile of turd. One of the three original X-Men movies sucked too. If we go by the numbers this movie should be good because we've already had our bad Wolverine movie out of the 3.
  5. Happy New Year, y'all.
  6. That's exactly what I was looking at. I just bought the 16:9 monitor because it was half the cost, and I was tossing the idea around of setting up PinballX on my emulator pc anyway. In the future I will be getting one of those 21:9's unless a better suited marquee sized monitor pops up for a reasonable price. I've also thought about a 16:9 monitor with a bezel across it to give the appearance of 2 screens. Kind of like what TerryRed did with his pincab. Using Marquee Masher by stigzler I could have one "monitor" show the marquee and the other "monitor" show CP Wizard or some other information. It'd be hard to make it look natural in a cabinet though.
  7. Going fast is a a good and bad thing. My mom knew she was dying for the last year. She was taking steps to get everything sorted out. She wouldn't admit it, but it was fairly obvious. She finally went to the doctor and was diagnosed with cancer in her lungs, liver, and brain. She died 45 days later. While I'm extremely sad that she died so quickly, I'm just as happy that she didn't have to suffer, and that my dad isn't left in financial ruin paying for treatments. I wish your grandma, and family, well Felix. Death does suck all around, and there's no real good way to look at it. Just take the small comforts as they come. Also, 2016 can suck it.
  8. If you do find anything reasonable please post it. I was looking at ultra wide 21:9 monitors from LG a while back, but I ended up just going with a standard 16:9 monitor. It worked out for the time being as I'm using the "marquee monitor" as a "backglass monitor" when using PinballX. I'd still like to build two dedicated rigs in the future though. One for GameEx and another for PinballX.
  9. Happy birthday good sir.
  10. I just picked up Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain for $16 on DL Gamer. Oh the winter game sales are the worst.
  11. I got Street Fighter V, Injustice, and Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeros for under $30. I'd say it's a good Christmas present to myself.
  12. Got drunk! Three 9% beers and I was wrecked. Slept for a few hours, did Christmas morning, and now for a long day of festivities. Merry Christmas everyone!
  13. Nice work. To go along with tthurman's suggestion maybe you can use a Keystone Jack to clean that HDMI hole up a bit.
  14. You are correct, sir. You're up.
  15. "Come get some" and "groovy" were both from Army of Darkness. Here's a fairly easy one: "Want some rye? Course ya do."
  16. Duke Nuke'em. Fun fact. It originally came from Andrew Dice Clay's stand-up. "Your face. Your ass. What's the difference? Just get it done, uh."
  17. Oh man. I was really close. After thinking about it the orcs said "job's done" not job's finished.
  18. I'm on my phone, so I can't give a super complete answer, but I can tell you a bit about my experience. I also had random files from all over the internet. I ended up just starting from scratch with EmuMovies. There's a bit of consistency there that you wouldn't get otherwise without a lot of extra work for yourself. I used the EmuMovies downloader (you might have heard of the guy who wrote the program) to get everything. As for matching files it's pretty good. If something didn't download I went through the EmuMovies FTP and found the naming scheme that was used and renamed my game files accordingly. MAME and No-Intro sets were all recognized, but my ripped Wii and PlayStation games were sketchy. One nice feature is that once all the media is gathered the downloader keeps track of the missing files. When you fire up the downloader it will automagically point you to updated and missing media files if you choose. It might take you a bit longer initially to get all of your media files, but you'll have less upkeep to deal with down the road.
  19. It's possible to stream Kodi with Steamlink, so I'd imagine the same is true with GameEx. All it does essentially is mirror the screen from your computer to your television. As for the controller, there isn't a plug in, but if it's setup within GameEx first than I would think it'd work through Steamlink. This is all speculation, and I could very well be incorrect. I had considered doing the very same thing at one point, but I decided to build a dedicated computer instead. Edit: Proof of concept. Kodi through Steamlink.
  20. Would it be possible to do something similar to what one can achieve with HLSL or GLSL shaders within GameEx? I'm not sure that it's possible, or that it may be easier to pull off on Evolution, but I was playing SF III today and got to thinking it would be cool if the GameEx UI had the same look as the games. Just throwing that out there as food for thought.
  21. I remember spending months....MONTHS!!!!....trying to beat that game. It's the first game I remember playing that actually seemed like it could have an end. If I wasn't playing it at home I was playing it at my friend's house. What an incomprehensible steaming pile of garbage. Draco, have you ever looked into PSPs for portable emulation? Those are a pretty slick option if a bit dated.
  22. Wanderers from Ys?
  23. Close enough. It's Metroid: Other M, but I'm one of 1,587 people that actually own and have played it. Here's a LINK to the similarities between the games and movies. You're up Stigz.
  24. My kid would crap himself over the chain chomp cat bed. It's like a mash up of two of his favorite things.
