Hi ace2014, and welcome! I moved your post from the Convert-It Support forum into the PinballX - General forum. Convert-It is a separate Spesoft application, and I'm guessing that most of those dudes don't have pin cabs (although I'm sure there is some overlap). For that matter I don't have a pin cab, so I can't provide much assistance in this regard either. All the same your question will get more attention in this sub-forum. Good luck!

Ha, yeah not so much. The original game actually came with a beautiful folded map of the the entire overworld (and possibly the first couple of dungeons as well, IIRC). Back in the day we had it laminated and wrote our own annotations on it. Ah ... good times. Legend of Zelda was the very first console game I ever owned (I had played Atari 2600 at friends house, but the NES was my very first console). I'm wondering if that missing screen is one of the shops; so possibly not such a complete translation after all, eh? At any rate to get to the first dungeon, you go one screen over from the first one, and head north until you see a wooden bridge pointed west (granted this browser version doesn't really have 'screens' per se, but you can still kind of tell where the screen divisions would be). Cross that bridge, head into the mouth of the spooky tree, and you're on your way.

Have you not played the original LoZ before @stigzler? If you haven't, you should redress this issue immediately! The nostalgia goggles are in full effect here, but even after all these years, the first title in the series is still my favorite. I go back to it time and time again. To my mind it is a perfect crystalline example of zen and the art of gaming, lol. At any rate, I was able to make it to the first dungeon in this browser version. No idea whether all the dungeons have been implemented (heh, I'm at work right now), but it does seem like a 1:1 representation of the original game from what little I've seen. Pro Tip: Your first order of business should be to enter the cave you see on the very first screen. It's dangerous to go alone don't 'cha know!

Wow, that's fantastic. Really nice browser game. Thanks for the share!

I don't recall seeing this Atari 2600 title available in stores

I think it had a sequel called, "The Hose Again" or somesuch ... -
I think you're probably right on the money with this. The problem here can be twofold. Based on what you're describing, I'm going to take a wild guess (and it really is just that since I don't own this game and cannot test) that you'll likely need to identify any additional processes to watch so that you can specify them in the form of a Steam config for the game. If you take a look in the GameEx\MEDIA\STEAM\CONFIGS directory, you'll find that it houses a config for each of your Steam games. With a config you can exercise some degree of control over how GameEx executes the associated game. I find that most often I use a custom config when I need to specify an alternate watched process (Steam games that get run through DOSBox are an example of this - the watched process (overidewaitprocess) needs to be DOSBox, not whatever it is that Steam launches). This will prevent GameEx from taking back focus before you exit the game. I believe you could also use a custom config to specify Launch Before and Launch After parameters on a per game basis, but have never had a need to do so. So I mentioned that the problem can be twofold. Another issue that can occur is that some games require an additional launcher before launching the "full game". Grand Theft Auto IV comes to mind (with the Rockstar Club Login popup), as well as Batman Arkham Asylum (which just has a standard Launcher with options for "Play this Game", "Options", etc.) . These type of games require an automated wrapper to negotiate past the launcher and get the actual game running. Typically these wrappers are compiled AutoHotKey scripts that send Mouse Clicks, Key Presses and the like to bypass these launchers. There are several wrappers that have already been written, and I'm sure there are multitudes out there still waiting to be discovered. This may be one such case. Any existing wrappers can be found in the C:\GameEx\MEDIA\STEAM\WRAPPERS directory, and further if you're interested in looking at the source code for these, you can find it on level deeper in the \SOURCE\ directory The trouble with this is that it's hard to write wrappers and/or configs for games that aren't in your Steam library, so trying to have a "full set" of Steam wrappers available from within GameEx is like trying to fight the tide with a teacup. Having said that any enterprising souls interested in writing their own are more than welcome to do so. In both cases the resultant file must be named as the numeric Steam identifier for the game (in the case of Street Fighter V it appears to be 310950). If you ever need to determine what that identifier is, you can always find it in the URL of the Steam store page for the corresponding game.

The rest of us, the ones that know the world is just a series of trainwrecks... well, Deadpool is our guy.

I'm not sure how you're set up, and I don't have a cab of my own to test but try disabling this setting

Awesome; glad to hear it worked out!

This sounds like a map file issue. Would you mind posting your GameEx.ini and your log.txt so we can take a look? Check the instructions linked in my sig if you are unsure of how to access this information. Thanks!

Hi emwizard and welcome to the GameEx forums! Allow me to be the first to say, wow there is a lot wrong with this post! First you posted in the Convert-It Support forum, which won't do much good in terms of getting assistance for GameEx. Please be aware of where you're posting in the future. (It's your first post so I'm sure we can cut you some slack ) Secondly though, a partial log dump really doesn't do much in terms of providing helpful information to help you troubleshoot your issue. What was happening when this error occurred? What OS are you using? What kind of hardware are you running? There are the sorts of details that can help us to assist you more quickly. Also please provide the full contents of your log, as well as your GameEx.ini. Please refer to the GameEx Help link in my signature if you are unsure of how to access that information. Thanks man, and good luck!

If you're just interested in watching ISO formatted DVDs you could also setup VLC as an external player. It's been a while since I've tried it (I'm a Kodi guy, but VLC is a very handy app to have around), but I'm relatively certain VLC features native playback from DVD ISOs. You would need to research the proper command to launch VLC in this fashion though. VLC Media Player (in the event that you're unfamiliar)

This batch file causes ePSXe to immediately end back to GameEx
nullPointer replied to G70Man's topic in General
I was going to suggest the same thing, but didn't want to step on your toes. ePSXeCutor works pretty well and I run it on Window 7. AFAIK there are no issues with running it on more modern versions of Windows as well. Here's some info on getting it set up in GameEx (keep reading beyond that post as well; setting up ePSXeCutor in GameEx is not for the faint of heart, but it works well once you do so). -
You bet! Yeah I've really enjoyed it so far, but I'm a big fan of David Tennant so I was pretty confident going in. I had also never heard of Jessica Jones, but in some ways I might have enjoyed the show more because of it. I was just enjoying the story and characters, rather than trying to tune in to all the references. It bears mentioning that it's definitely not one for younger viewers, and is probably one of the more "sexed up" MCU stories I've seen, but really that's in keeping with the Marvel Knights stories which were always more adult oriented to begin with. Netflix is really developing a great stylistic take on the MCU, primarily focused on the Marvel Knights characters. I haven't watched Season 2 of Daredevil yet either, but I'm really looking forward to seeing Jon Bernthal's portrayal of Punisher. *Feels a bit self indulgent bumping my own birthday thread, but I wanted to reiterate my recommendation of Jessica Jones. Good stuff!

There is, and it does actually help sometimes. Might be worth a shot in this case. Basically you go to the \GameEx\Data directory and delete all files with the word cache in the file name. When you restart GameEx, it will rebuild the cache.

On a secondary note, are you using custom menus at all? If so, then your custom menu will override that setting.

GOG.com So the deal with this sale (as with past Insomnia Sales) is that only one game is on sale at any given time in a limited batch. Once that batch is gone the next game goes up (thus the 'Insomnia' moniker, being that if you're not constantly watching the sale you're liable to miss something). From what I've seen so far today the games are going up in extremely limited batches (everything I've seen so far has been in batches < 100, and sometimes much less, like 20 or so), so at least thus far there's been a ton of turnover churn. It's cool that there's been a different game every time I've looked, but conversely I could see this being quite tedious for anyone trying to actively track the sale in detail. I suppose as the sale goes on, the churn will likely slow down a bit. Have fun deal hunters!

Thanks again guys! I actually have not seen Deadpool yet! At this point it looks like I'll be waiting for the home release. For that matter I didn't end up watching Fury Road either. Instead we binge watched some Jessica Jones which is probably the best crime noir story (masquerading as a superhero story) I've seen in a long time. Highly recommended! ... On the other hand, now it's going to be hard to look at the Tenth Doctor (who is one of my favorites!) and not see him as a bit of a psychopath. So there is that.

Thanks a lot guys! I think we're going to order Chinese food and have a family movie night. The Peanuts movie for the kids, and later I'm going to "birthday-guilt" my wife into watching Fury Road with me. Should be fun!

Heh ... you guys are talking like Legend of the Crystal Kingdom isn't an actual thing that happened. I say more power to them! It's not like they can do any more damage to the franchise ... and with any luck it might help to redeem it (if only ever so slightly).

Yes, as a basic member there are restrictions put on the use of the FTP. Here's an explanation of how our member groups work. Welcome to the forums by the way!

Happy Birthday Red Dog! Some suggested viewing on this day dedicated to you: He's been everywhere mate. He really has. ... OK, I've never seen this movie, but c'mon it's got dogs, motorcycles, and hot chicks (if this here poster is to be believed) How could it not be good?! Exactly the sort of movie one might need on their birthday!

If "so game" really has spaces in the name (which is entirely likely under most naming conventions), you'll need to enclose that path in double quotes. You're also using UNIX style path separators rather than Windows, and there's no drive letter specified (which again might work under Linux, but not so much under Windows). So uh yeah ... this command is pretty FUBAR at the moment. If you're using custom configs in RetroArch (which I think most people are?) your command should look something like this: retroarch.exe "[ROMPATH]\[ROMFILE]" -c "x:\path\to\config\name_of_config.cfg" -f There may be some specific factors to consider when launching your Saturn core through RetroArch, but the above command does work for a great many emulators under RetroArch.

If you haven't checked it out before (or haven't checked it out for a while), Tom's Hardware runs a regularly updated series of hardware recommendation articles. It's definitely skewed towards what's up to date and modern, but I generally find their recommendations to be solid and trustworthy. Furthermore their recommendations are generally tiered by price range/desired usage. Best CPUs Best Motherboards Best GPUs Also FWIW, count me among those that back Corsair RAM. Hard. Their Vengeance series has never let me down. For that matter I've been pretty pleased with several of Corsair's hardware offerings. In my main system I currently run Corsair RAM, PSU, and case, all of which have met or exceeded my expectations.

Sorry for double post. It also occurred to me that you may want to toggle this setting (found on the Display Settings screen in the Setup Wizard) to see whether it makes a difference:
