  1. I might suggest that we just meet up in chat later (after I get my kids into bed), but just out of curiosity what happens if you start a game in windowed mode, then press Alt+Enter after it has already started?
  2. Wow! It appears that there may be an issue with loading this emulator in fullscreen on your system. What happens when you run the following commands from the command line (which will be either Start Menu > Run > cmd (in XP) -OR- Start Menu > Search Programs and Files > cmd.exe (in Win7)). Verify that those paths are correct, but assuming they are it should launch pSX in windowed mode. If it launches okay in windowed mode it would appear that there may be an issue with launching in fullscreen. Edit: You might also want to double check your video settings in pSX. File > Configuration > Graphics Make sure there's nothing that stands out or seems unusual there (particularly for the fullscreen settings). For my part under fullscreen settings I have everything set to either 'Default' or 'Auto' with VSync turned on (although I'm only running a single monitor).
  3. So just to verify, it sort of hangs when you start the emulator and doesn't return focus to GameEx? Here's what I'd like you to try, go to your start menu and select Start Menu > All Programs > GameEx > Utilities > Run Last Game Does that generate the same results? I'm wondering whether there's something in your system or the way you've got the emulator configured that might be preventing it from running properly from the command line. Stranger things have happened!
  4. Click on your user name up at the top of the forum, then click on "My Settings." The My Settings screen contains your signature settings, and from there you can change your signature.
  5. Pretty sweet Draco! Thanks for the share. I like these quite a bit (I like the Tapper one quite a bit too; although it makes me ... thirsty)
  6. You are absolutely correct. I just verified that the working path does not actually show up in the log. Good catch! Guess I should have asked to see his runitgame.bat instead. C.T: The more I think about that map file the more suspicious I am. If your map file contains entries that don't actually exist in your ROM directory, you'd likely see system behavior very close to what you're describing here. I'd suggest removing the map file entry for this emulator in the Setup Wizard and see if you get the same results.
  7. Huh, curiouser and curiuoser (as they say). Well there's definitely some sort of disconnect between what's in your config and what GameEx is trying to do (according to your log). Your config seems to be in order, so I'm starting to run out of clear cut suggestions. Here are a few things to check (I apologize if some of these seem like dumb questions): Verify that C:\Emulators\pSX really does contain psxfin.exe. (It probably does, but just to be sure) I notice that you're using a map file. Do you get the same results if you don't use the map file? Have you made any modifications to the [Mapping Off] Exit (Process Close) file? Hopefully we can get this working for you. Maybe someone else will see something in that config that I'm overlooking. Edit: If it helps, here's a copy my working config for pSX. It's pretty similar to yours (with the exception of paths of course, and a few other settings). Obviously this won't work for you as is, but you can use it to compare settings in your own config.
  8. If you go to the Emulator Selection screen in the Setup Wizard you'll see a column of 6 buttons in between the two "main" panels. The bottom button in that column is the Export Emulator(s) button. So you highlight the emulator you'd like to export in the left hand panel and press the Export Emulator(s) button. It will then prompt you as to where you'd like to save the file. It's that file that you would upload here. If you want to save a step though, just verify that your working path for that emulator is pointed where you think it is, since as Adultery points out your log indicates that GameEx is looking for the emulator in the root of your C: drive.
  9. Wow! Thanks Tom! Thanks Adultery! Thanks Bigby! You guys rock!
  10. Whoa, wait a tic … Do you have psxfin.exe located in the root of your C drive (C:\psxfin.exe)? If not, it appears that your working path may be incorrectly configured. All the same, would you mind uploading a copy of your Emulator config for this one?
  11. First I’d like to say huge props to all that have worked on this project. This feature was one of the first technical aspects of GameEx that drew me in, and continues to be one of my favorite features of the program. The recent move to SQLite has only sweetened the deal. In checking out the new database structure, I noticed that some fields that used to be unique to MAME now appear in the standard emulator tables as well. Among other things, this includes the Series field. I’m viewing this with cautious optimism, as I think it would be awesome to be able to leverage the Series field against all emulators. As a result, I’ve got a few questions (one of which I’ve been mulling over for a while): Are there any plans to add functionality in GameEx to utilize the Series field for standard emulators? I’ve also been pondering another question in relation to GameEx database development (although it’s a bit of a doosey). Has there ever been any discussion of incorporating all the separate databases into a single database schema? Especially now that we’ve moved to SQLite, it seems to me that this could open up a lot of possibilities. For instance what if the ‘Series’ field was instead moved to its own table? All of the sudden it opens up the possibility of cross-platform series entries via foreign keys to the various system tables (or even a single foreign key to a single table for games if anyone were crazy enough to go down the database normalization route). The same idea could be applied to a ‘Playlist’ table enabling users to generate their own ad-hoc cross-platform playlists. I know a lot of users would be ecstatic to see that feature, and it seems to me that tweaking the structure of our database(s), might well put some of that functionality within reach. Having asked those questions, I want to reiterate that I think our current database implementation is awesome; this is just me playing “What If?” Does any of the above sound feasible? Are there technical limitations preventing this sort of shift? Is anyone else hungry for a taco? Edit: I should also note that I've always been interested in helping out with this project, so if there's currently a need for that, I'd be glad to do so. Feel free to let me know if you're looking for extra hands on deck; I'd be honored to assist in any way. Edit 2: After having some time to think a bit more about this, I realized that I may be assuming a tighter integration between GameEx and the database(s) than actually exists. All the same it would be interesting to get perspective from one of the database gurus on this subject.
  12. From the look of that log, it looks like you're still launching a cue file. It seems counter intuitive, but I'd try changing your ROM filter to *.bin and try again. I'm guessing that you'll get better results. There is a potential aesthetic issue with setting up your filter this way, but let's see if it works first, and we'll cross that bridge when we get there.
  13. For pSX, I actually had to set my filter to *.bin rather than *.cue in order to get good results. Seems counter intuitive I know!
  14. A huge well done to you as well KRC! You (as well as few others) are one of the cadre of main players and catylysts fueling this creative renaisance we've got going on around here! Thanks for being an inspirational member!
  15. There we go. I had to wait until I got home to fix up my signature. Looks good! Thanks again KRC!
  16. Thanks for all the great output KRC! This logo set continues to impress. You're a workaholic!
  17. Thanks Adultery! I've always been a huge fan of your awesome controller image set as well. (If I recall correctly it was actually your controller images that inspired me to build this set in the first place!). I meant to respond to this when you posted, but with all the talent you've developed working in GIMP you would have absolutely no problems whatsoever picking up Inkscape and working with vector graphics. Naturally raster graphics will typically be a more practical format for several general applications, but working with vectors can be quite a bit of fun!
  18. Some vacation! Thanks for all your hard work.
  19. Um, I'm sorry to break it to you guys like this, but ... Deadpool is Santa.
  20. I am unabashed to say this is one of my all time favorite GameEx themes. The new status screens look fantastic Adultery! Every time I look at that startup screen the SMB ‘Cave theme’ starts playing in my head (which for my money is some of the greatest of all SMB music). Also looking forward to having a look at the new 4DO screen! Great job again man!
  21. That would be awesome Draco! I’ll look around and see what I can find as well. Interestingly enough, it was when I started working on the arcade systems that I sort of hit a creative block with this kit. I wasn’t sure where to go with arcade controls. For MAME I use the background image in conjunction with HK’s fantastic CPWizard software, but for the other arcade emulators it’s kind of hit and miss due to the fact that there are so many control variations, even within a single platform. I might just decide to do an arcade specific version of this kit. Also, I’ve added it to the main description, but for anyone who’s messing with the SVG graphics, everything has been grouped. This facilitates easy repositioning of elements, but adds an extra step if you want to edit anything. Pretty much all the SVG graphics can be ungrouped to a very granular level. Some objects may have been grouped multiple times (sorry), so if you’re trying to break something down and can’t, just attempt to ungroup it again. This will allow for changes to colors, gradients, labels, fonts, and general manipulation of the raw vector graphics if you wish to do so. Thanks again for checking this out!
  22. Right on Tom! You've been at it like a mad man lately! Thanks!
  23. Tom Speirs: The Hardest Working Man in Emulation™ Thanks for all you do Tom!
  24. Thanks again for this great plug-in Adultery! Does this latest release have any associated release notes, or is this the full release of the previous incremental versions?
  25. Thanks a lot guys! I'm still slowly adding systems to this kit as I need them, but at this point progress is fairly slow. If anyone would like to see any additional systems, or controllers added to the background layer I would be glad to make additions as necessary. Everything here is mostly geared towards console and handheld systems, so I'll be adding more arcade systems (and possibly PC based systems). I've got another project that's been simmering on the back burner for a while, so I haven't been focused on this one. Feel free to let me know if you'd like to see anything added to this kit. Thanks Again!
