As well as what Draco mentioned, regional settings in your OS may also affect this (i know because i play a lot of Asian/Japanese games). It's less likely than just a font issue, but thought i'd give you an extra option to consider just in case

OK, thanks for posting .ini, someone will get back to you once examined (GE ini's are huge!) i'll try to explain what we mean: Load the GameEx Setup Wizard (in your Start menu, under GameEx). Once loaded, choose/check "Custom", then click the big green arrow. On the next screen, with tons of options, click the "Clear All" button if anything is checked (has a tick) then check/tick "MAME Settings". Click the green arrow again. The page that you now should be on is the page we are talking about. This is where you should setup MAME. If you fill out most of the top section on this screen, GameEx will do the rest (when you launch GameEx and confirm/choose Update List)

Yes it's important, when setting up MAME that you use the dedicated section which is what Draco enquired in the first reply. The dedicated MAME section has many more features than standard emulators, least of all displaying your roms in a nice formatted manner By the way, you already know by now, but once you setup MAME in the dedicated section it will prompt you to "Update List" - choose OK/Yes then have that coffee/beer/cake you probably deserve by now

It's in the MAME section, along with "Show All MAME Games", "Show Multiplay Games", "Show Vertical Games" etc, in otherwords, before you get to the gamelist. It's at the very bottom of that screen. To make things clear, this is within GameEx, not the Setup Wizard

Have you "Updated" your list? It should prompt you to do this once you've setup MAME and launched GE. Did you perhaps choose Cancel? You can do it manually by going to the MAME section (while GameEx is loaded), scroll to the bottom and hit "Update List". It may take a while to finish so have a coffee or something.

To keep with our philosophy of a "fair fight" we'd like you to post new scores. This is to encourage all competitors to actually play the games, which in turn will more likely get your competitive fires burning (and so you'll come & back play even more titles). It also means that the "worlds best at EVERYTHING" doesn't just sign up, post scores that destroy everyone else's hope and then leave. Although a little less scrupulous than some sites, we still try our best to run a fair comp, which is why you (or anyone else) has exactly the same chance now as you would have 1 year ago. As MO stated, there is no "time advantage" in our comp It seems to me that you will be a great player to have onboard, despite your seemingly unjustified reservations. Why not just try a few and see how you go? You might just be pleasantly surprised at how quick you climb that ladder, even without getting top spot on every game

lol i've been guilty of that on more than a few occasions. Once i was witnessed running around the lobby on PSO2 for 8 hours straight coz i fell asleep on my analogue stick hehehe I awoke to tons of PM's along the lines of "dude, you on drugs?" and "bored yet?" as if i would actually spend hours on end running in circles for fun! Whether it'll be in 15 days or 30 means nothing to me - all i know is there is something new on the horizon, and it is close! No matter when, where, how or whom, i just can't wait to sink my teeth into it! And as a little bonus the whole thing is a LOT closer now than it was when the timer was revealed GOOD TIMES!

Your new integrated GPU may not be as efficient at DX10/11 rendering as your last so i would switch to DX9 renderer firstly. Bottom line is that DX10/11 both need quite a bit more power than DX9 does, and for what it's worth you won't notice all that much difference. In a comparison screenshot you might, if you are scrupulous, but not really while playing. You'll probably also find that more games are compatible with DX9 too, giving less glitches. Secondly i would disable FXAA as it is a resource monster - in any DX application let alone an emulator. Lastly, if you still get troublesome games, try running them in native res. Some games are known to be troublesome running in anything but native. Also, a last tidbit, seeing as you have so much ram, you should be able to dedicate a decent amount to your onboard GPU, but truth be told i've always used a dedicated GPU (for the last 8 years or so anyway) so can't give much advice on that.

Agreed. I personally have been running both for a number of years, and it really doesn't matter which you focus on first. Just make it a habit of getting one working right, before you try to integrate the other. The GameEx XBMC plugin just puts a menu entry in the "Programs" section of XBMC, that when clicked quits XBMC and launches GameEx. If you know XBMC at all then you realise you can do this manually later (and with more control) anyway. The XBMC plugin is more for convenience i think than anything else. Also, if you're going this route you'd still need to do the opposite - make GE quit and launch XBMC. Both are relatively easy to accomplish if you familiarise yourself with command lines, which you should absolutely be doing if you want the most out of GE Above all else though, we are a friendly bunch, and so if you need any advice just holla and we'll set you right

That's quite the team we have already! A wide variety of skill sets i think you'll agree. We'll still take more though so, even if you're more of an observer on the site but quite fancy yourself as a competitor then please, don't be shy! Now's your time to step in and give it some I'm feeling good about this one fellas - it's in the bones Now, the question is, do we pick a game that we know for sure 1 or 2 members will destroy the scores, or, do we pick a game that the majority are good at?? Actually you seem un-American No offense to my State-side buddies but you wouldn't believe the amount of run-ins i've had with regards to "football". The clue is in the wording for those that need it pointed out, and i know some of you do, Foot> Ball. Football. This is a sport where a "ball" is controlled by a "foot". Only Americans call this "Soccer". Why? God knows. Let's examine "American Football": The primary tools for play? Hands. What is the definition of a "ball"? Most would say "round". Yeah i dunno why you guys name things the way you do, but you do So what do you call a sport that primarily uses hands, with a prolate spheroid object? Football! what?!
