only diffrence i see is the xp boot screen is a second or two faster other than that id say its the same may make a lower spec pc run faster though not sure

Hi im trying to change a lot of file names on videos at the moment there all in folders and the files are named like E01.avi etc basicly i was wondering how i could change all the file names easily i have made a bat file that gets all the file names for me i can get the proper names if the episodes of tv guide web site i just want to know how to change the file names in a bat file (so i dont have to copy paste each individual file name) Any help is very welcome

goto the config app in section tweaks/proformance set reduce cpu utilization to 15

you cant install xp on a pc and use the hd in another pc only way you might get away with it is if the pc have identical hardware same model mobo still i wouldnt want to try it

if i used the remote or mouse emulation i cant use the visualization function in winamp, And its just easier to work with a menu just point n click also im working on settng the visualization to come on like a screensaver after 30 seconds or inactivity I wont be able to do without the front end app i made.

have you used instant sheller and set the cursor to a dot? other than that im not sure

have a look in the config app under Input settings check to see if you disabled mouse should be 4th option down

heres what i have done up to now works ok on my pc let me know if it dosnt firstly go to winamp and select visualization plugin "nulsoft Tiny Fullscreen" only works proply with this one at the moment when you press visualization it will run the autoit script in the MM folder and when you want to come out simply press the up or down key on the keyboard/remote this will take you back to the menu the app should load winamp up on start as long as its in the default install path i guess you could but i dont want to use a mouse i just want it all controled by remote. This is about the only way i can think of doing it, also i want to use the visualization function aventualy as a screen saver. winamp_loader.zip

Im looking at ways of making winamp usable in gameex im realy asking for ideas what people think the best way of controling it is. up to now i have made an app that lets you stop start and jump tracks this is run in external applications. So it is basicly like a menu like the one in gameex where you select what you want to do (it works with MCE remote also with arrow keys on keyboard) im also working on having the visualization from winamp on like a screen saver after a set time Please give me ideas... thanks Michael

i have wmp installed just i havnt opened the mp3s in it i just pointed gameex to the dirrectory the files are stored in il have a try with wmp and see what it does thanks iano

I have jsut setup the jukebox i have a fair few albums on mp3 format and i have them aranged like this Album --album1 --album2 etc i have set jukebox to the correct folderall the mp3s are shown in a long list and the sort by album etc dont seem to work just wondering if im missing something or is it id3 tags on the mp3s that this features uses? also it has downloaded the correct covers for the albums they are nearly all various artist albums so i cant understand why it wont let me sort by albums

the other option is windows 98/ME if i remeber right there only couple 100mb installs Altough I have never tried gameex on anything other than win xp so im not sure if there are any issues far as i know gameex will works though. probly best askin Tom about this. xp would probly be better but realy depends on the pc spec, you would need the best part of the 6gb hdd for windows xp Also if you only have the 1 hard drive you wouldnt have much room for games

yes i dont have any problems with psx / dreamcast games they all run fine i dont use it for Latest pc games but i would think they would be not to bad

i would make a fresh install of windows and put gameex in the startup folder and make sure it all works fine and get a good setup before using instant sheller,

you will need a form of windows 98 or xp and use instant sheller to make gameex boot up instead of explorer. You cant make gameex boot with no os

i got a cheap pc a uATX board 512mb ddr 2800+ semptron 64bit AM2 cost just over £100 and it runs gameex with no problems the case was most expencive bit of it if it going in a cab you possibly dont need a case

is there anyway of turning the volume down on the mp3s there seem realy loud its all working fine though

if you press enter on your keyboard does it select the option on the menu? or have you got any custom keys setup?

headkaze is right i have win xp sp2 and the remote works fine, windowz knows what it is and it works in gameex i use it for the main controller on my cab just pnp the remote i dont have the same problem iano has though I think the drivers are in sp2 the remote dosnt work at all in xp sp1
