  1. the same thing happens except the command line says game.iso instead of game. I also tried adding a \ at the very beginning like \metroid\game.iso to see if it would add the folder to the command but it doesn't
  2. I have done so, and it appears to have had no effect. :/
  3. Yes my MAP file looks like this G2ME01 Metriod Prime 2 Echoes\game|Metroid Prime 2 Echoes G2VE08 Viewtiful Joe 2\game|Viewtiful Joe 2 The game folder indeed is not being targeted. and if I have it set up as game.iso|(Any game) I find that it will load the first folder in my Games folder which happens to be the folder containing Zelda Ocarina of Time/Master Quest and will only load Zelda. Tempest told me to leave out .iso
  4. I take it you've had little to no success?
  5. I just did no clones unless better because of the very same reason you mentioned about pacman. The list is no longer poopy looking but I'm missing 3/4ths of my games now lol. Hopefully GameEx Evolution will have more options for you MAME ROMs like merging parent roms and clones of those parents together on the list. Hopefully Tom will see this and give a poke at it.
  6. That is why I also asked if anyone has tried the Wii port of MAME and if it has lightgun support. But apparently not. Seems the Wii port is old and poopy. I just really want to play my lightgun games. I have a LED TV I'm using as a monitor so most lightguns don't work on it :/ and the ones that do are kinda pricey. Just figured I'd save a few bucks cause the Wiimote is pretty good with lightgun emulation. I'm looking into retroarch for the Wii and see if the mame core has lightgun support.
  7. After installing PPJoy my pc wont go out of test mode. Do I have to stay like this forever? Really crappy thing for such little to show for it.
  8. half of the links in that post are broken. I've found alternative links though I had to dig really deep to find PPJoy for some reason.
  9. Before you say it, yes I searched the forum and found a topic discussing just what I want to talk about. But it is 6 years old as I figured maybe theres been some advancements like programs that are made specifically to help make your Wiimote into a LightGun controller/Paddle/steering wheel. (I mostly only care about the lightgun part) I got some friends that really want to play some lightgun games and I have a bluetooth adapter and wiimotes and a sensor bar. If the only way to do it is this way http://www.gameex.info/forums/topic/5589-wiimote-as-lightgun/ then I'll do it that way but if there have been better methods developed since then that'd be great if someone could point me in the right direction. Also, I have a softmodded Wii and it would be sweet to know if anyone here uses MAME on it for lightgun games and is any good on there.
  10. I tried using the format Metroid Prime 2 Echoes\game|Metroid Prime 2 Echoes and this is what happens C:\GameEx>chcp 65001 Active code page: 65001 C:\GameEx>Q: Q:\>CD "Q:\Emulators\Dolphin" ECHO is on. Dolphin.exe -e "I:\Games\game" ECHO is on. Q:\Emulators\Dolphin>PAUSE Press any key to continue . . .
  11. That might be what I did wrong was I had .iso at the end. But I did delete my Cashe files a couple times.. the runitgame.bat would just show the directory for zelda every time I played any game. I'll try again without the .iso extention at the end and let you know if I succeed
  12. Ok so I was doing as you suggested and it seemed things were working, but I am having a problem and I think I know what it is. When I try to add my games via mapfile, I did it correctly the first time having my map full of game.iso|zelda game.iso|metroid and the problem with that is gameex will take the first name in that list and apply it to every game because all of their names are game.iso. So when I go to play Metroid it shows up as metroid but when you go play its zelda because its the first game in the map list. When I do what you suggested, the MAP file doesnt point GameEx in the right directory so it plays its last configuration so I get nowhere because all I get is zelda lol I think I'm doomed
  13. Just tried that and it didnt work sadly. :/ and even though I have it either way only Zelda Ocarina of Time Master Quest will load even if I choose Metroid Prime 2 or anything else so MAP files seem to be useless for me
  14. Exactly how mine's set up. Such a pain.
  15. Ok well is there any way to just show Parent ROMs? that might satisfy me for the time being. As for feature requests I wouldn't even know what exactly to ask for. A way to merge MAME games like how it works for 7z merged sets but it looks at the database for the names and organizes them based on the dat?
  16. Be more specific, learns me plz. I know .lnk is a shortcut but I have no idea how to make a shortcut for an ISO and make it work on GameEx. It can't be as simple as right clicking my ISO and hitting create shortcut and putting the shortcut in a "ROM" directory and pointing GameEx to that folder with the filter as .lnk can it? EDIT: tried doing the .lnk files acting as the ISOs and Dolphin just crashes when it tries to load the .lnk
  17. I was afraid of this. I don't really want to take up twice the space just to get around renaming my games. But I'll do what I got to do I guess.
  18. Merging MAME roms sounds just terrible to me. Is there really no other way I can combine the game names on the list without manipulating my ROMs?
  19. I ended up making my GameCube files as game.iso again because I need them to be named in that fashon for my Wii to recognize and play them. And I switch from my Wii to my PC often because my stuff is on and External HDD. So I came back to this issue today and I'm trying to make MAP files for my GameCube ISOs so I can have them on my GameEx menu again and when I use Map File Maker all of my ISOs load up in the list but don't tell me the Directory they're in so I can't make their names in the list properly beacause the folders they reside in have their name. You have all been extremely helpful in my efforts to make my dream machine! EDIT: After messing with the MAP File Maker program I've come across another issue. I was renaming each game in the list one by one for example I would rename one Game.iso on the list something like Test and I would play that game in GameEx and after determining what game that was I renamed it from Test to something like Zelda Ocarina of Time Master Quest. But if I tried to do the same thing again with another name no matter what GameEx will choose to play the Zelda game not the new "Test" game so I cant figure out what game I'm trying to play nor can I play it. Another thing I realized is, since all my Gamecube ISOs are called Game.iso all my preview videos would be the same for each game regardless of the Map file. Really need to find a way around this. :/
  20. Thank you for the help Tom! Didn't realize there were separate options for the descriptions and names too be used.
  21. I got my ROMs all ordered up and renamed using clrmamepro and they are all named properly but the database system screws up some of my games like for instance Kirby's Adventure shows up as Gorby's Pipeline and the description is of Gorby's Pipeline but the preview video is Kirby's Adventure gameplay and the artwork I have is all Kirby's Adventure and when I play the game it's Kirby's Adventure. I don't have Gorby's Pipeline whatsoever in my ROMs folder so.... yeah. lol and Also other games show up like Mario Kart 64 (Revision 0) and will have the description or Jet Moto 2 (USA) () and it doesn't have a description for the game but if it changes the name that would suggest there would be a description made as well. I can't do anything to manually rename my ROMs or ISOs to fix the issue or I'll lose the Description. Thank you for any help you offer.
  22. There isn't anything I can do to merge my MAME roms together?
  23. I've messed with the filters and such. I don't want the games gone from my list entirely, i just want it to look nice. Deleting the ROMs isn't really an option for me.
  24. I have the latest MAME set and was wanting to know how to combine all my multiple versions of the same game under 1 name like the merge sets option for regular emulators. Its really messy with all these multiples on my list.
  25. Yeah I copied over the custom menu file from the themes folder.Like i said I haven't really messed with themes much. But since I bought GameEx its been another story lol. I appreciate you pointing me in the right direction it seems easy enough now
