  1. Hello fellows, @Marc : Thanks for NOT finding an error in my guide !! But I will surely react on Your feedback and will correct some pages in the guide, so stay tuned to the next version since I will put all my efforts into that guide so that really everybody will be able to use that guide... @Draco1962 : Changing the name to MAMEUIFX...mhhh, but lastly, its up to You if You take the official version or the unofficial. It will nearly not change the way of how to configure Your system. Ok, I think I will have to revise Chapter 5... @nullPointer : Damm !! Because of You I maybe have to write a new section in chapter 5 for ClearMAME... .Hopefully I will find time on the week-end...at the moment I am just modding my "Medieval Madness" pinball... Big HI! to all of You from germany !! André
  2. Hello Mark, Thanks for You feedback !! Indeed I forgot to mention that the ROM version should be the same as the MAMEUIfx version. Also in the guide I was talking about an old version of MAMEUIFX. I will correct that in the next release.. Concerning the batch file...Please tell me what is not working...I tested the scripts a lot of times and when You exactly followed the guide and copied the files to the correct drives (z:) and folders and You have the proposed layout (c,d,z), it should work with no errors since I also reinstalled my system with the guide, so please specify the problem and hwo You resolved it. So please always use the same ROM Version with the same MAMEUIFX version to have full highscore support... Bye, André
  3. Hi Mark, I had the same situation and if You would like to have a 100% compatibility, You MUST have the correct ROM version to the CORRECT MAMEUIFX...I am sorry...I had the same issue and then I deleted the downloaded ROM package... Subject : XP SP2 : It depends what You are exactly doing with the machine...You wrote that You are also using network connectivity...does this mean that You also go into the internet ? If yes, it should be a good idea to protect Your system with actual patches... E.G. I am also using IE8 (as You know from my package) and I have SP3 installed with patches...You should at a minimum have Your browser up-to-date... My recommendation would be that You reinstall Your system with a sli-streamed XP version, where SP3 is already integrated...thats better for the performance and makes the defragmentation a lot easier... Hope my answer will help You and wish You the best for Your installation ! André
  4. Ahh, ok sorry, my mistake...can not help You with Future Pinball :-(
  5. Hello Mark, Nice to hear that this guide will help You in installing Your MAME system !! :-) 1. So if You want to retain Your network setting, just exectute part1 of the script and just close the cmd window in section 2, thats it ! But its also written in the guide 2. Yes, the ROM Version mus be the same as the MameuiFX version. Bye and greetings ! André
  6. Hi Drago, I think Your post is a direct reaction to my post, so I have to give You a response : Just to be sure that everybody know the conditions : 1. I am a long GameEx fan 2. I wrote a complete MAME Installation guide including Gameex to support that Front-End 3. I am also trying to help people working with gameex OK, lets start : I do not have a problem if a new version is coming out and maybe a feature is not working or is not working as expected. This is really not a problem, this is just an issue. It will get a problem when I have TO KILL the task "GAMEEX" just to get back into the system : Many will not have a keyboard attached to the system, because they have a complete MAME arcade machine...and when I have a party and would like to show people some features and if I am not able to go back to gameex, it will be a problem : 1. Take the whole arcade machine out of position, ca 1 meter away from the wall 2. Disconnect the keyboard interface, which is attached to the Joysticks 3. Attach a normal keyboard 4. Go into Task Manager and kill the task 5. TRY to start gameex again, but my experience is that its always crashing 6. This means that I have to reboot the whole system again So as You can see, it will take a lot of steps and time to get my system back into a functioning system. This is why I say to be carefull when updating and always have a backup in place. This is a normal behaviour in every IT environment and should not be a problem. Many of us put in so much time to get the right configuration of their system...hours and hours...and I do not want to waste all my time just to upgrade to a newer version and then things are getting wired. Also, do You know the word "stable" and "unstable" version ? Do You always apply at once a fix to Your Operating system without waiting ? These are just normal thoughts and must not be undestood as an attack to a very nice and ggod system as Gameex it is...and by the way : An imag eof a c: drive where only the OS and gameex is installed is about 3,5 GB and it takes me 3 minutes to replay my image... So peace and lets wait for some fixes... Andre
  7. Thanks Frequency, will check that, but I have my doubts that it will fix the problem of not returning to Gameex from the browser... Bye, André
  8. Hi Tom, Damm, again problems with this new update : 1. My radio favorite list was again updated with the DEFAULT radio list, so before I had my favorites with 10 stations, and after the update, I have again also all default radio stations...grrrr... 2. Joystick movements are now working in web pages, BUT I am now not able to use the "B" Button to return to Gameex. Also the ESC key does not work...grrr...dammm...so I have to kill gameex in Task Manager... So I would NOT recommend to update at the moment, sorry... So my golden rule still exists : BEFORE You update, make an Image of Your c: partition... Bye, André
  9. Hi, Ok, now I see around 8000 games : 1. Deactivated all ROM filters 2. Updated the list Now everything is fine...except that I have e.g. 8 versions of the same game...what setting does control that in the roms filter ? Bye, Andrê
  10. Always the same problem : not viewing my games...maybe Tom should set a defautl configuration to see all games without activating any filters...that would be easier... André
  11. I would really like that this issue will be fixed. I just started MameUIfx32 and got around 8000 games, and in gameex, I get around 3000 games...also best games like Guwange are not visible in gameex, but can be played without any problems in mameuifx...please help... 13. SOLVED ! 1. Open Windows Explorer 2. Start Visual Pinball 3. Resize Visual Pinball ! It must not be in Full Screen ! 4. Start a Pinball 5. Exit 6. Close Visual Pinball Updated my Full MAME Configuration Guide to Version 2.1 with that Tip Bye and Greetings ! Andre

I never had problems in seeing all my roms since I made all the settings for exlcluding roms, ect... 3. I was using the last version before the version what You can download at the moment 3.1 Version before : 11.50 3.2 Version after : 11.51 4. After upgrading, half of my roms are away 4.1 Before : around 6000 ROMs 4.2 After : around 3400 ROMS 5. I tried to update the list yesterday night, but nothing changed 6.
