  1. Hooray! I'm glad I posted, thanks Tom (Please mark as resolved)
  2. I was creating snaps for Future Pinball when my PC went all blue screen of death. Since then only MAME works within GameEx. Everything else works fine outside of GameEx. I saw strange symbols running runitgame.bat (see screenshot), and I need help identifying the culprit - perhaps I need to reinstall the OS, or do a clean install of GameEx. If you guys know a better way, well that's why I'm here. I scanned the hard disk for errors and it's fine. runitgame.bat: Log file: Thanks for looking!
  3. How do I go directly from the front page of setup wizard, to the section I want to change with a single click? Thanks.
  4. Well don't that beat all!
  5. But it's not the long way, if you know where to look. I use Advanced Config 95% of the time because I can jump straight to the setting I want to change, save and quit in seconds. I only use the wizard for a few things, like alphabetising my emulators.
  6. Thanks fellas. The cab IS missus Wubble. I don't have a workshop or shed so I made do with lots of dustsheets in my front room.
  7. Finally finished my cab! The photo diary is here cab diary Thanks to LarryJ for some advice early on in the project.
  8. OK, Using Ben Baker's Advanced Config Editor I can map the joybuttons to keystrokes for this emulator only. SendKeys starts the game automatically. The only problem is that the editor does not differentiate between joystick IDs in the joymapping section, and as my Player 1 and Player 2 joysticks are identical, 2-player is not an option. I hope this makes sense. It's not a big game breaker, just wish it was a little bit better
  9. That command line works just as before. Thanks for pointing out that the syscard.pce is not required after the first run. Just realised I can use the Advanced Config Editor to map keys to joystick buttons for this emulator only, then use the relevant keystroke in the SendKeys field. I'll set it up and post how well it works.
  10. Command Line: ootake.exe SYSCARD.pce Launch Before: ""C:\Program Files\DAEMON Tools Lite\DTLite.exe" -mount 0,"[ROMPATH]\[ROMFILE]""
  11. Thanks Adultery, but I don't own a copy of MagicEngine. I find Ootake to be very good instead, and free.
  12. Hi, I would like to know how to automatically send button presses in my emulator config for PC Engine CD games. I know how to SendKeys in advanced configuration, but not how to send joystick buttons. The reason being, for every PC Engine CD game, you have to press Run (Start) to load the CD every time, and I would like to run these games in the screensaver. I would rather not use JoyToKey as I emulate many computers that use keyboards.

    Smooth gaming

This information may not help you personally but I'll put it forward anyway. I run on a British PAL TV set, and I like to have V-snyc on for most games (except pac-man, galaga, etc.) I get bad sync / sound stutter unless I set my ATi video card to output in the M/NTSC signal format, then it's just fine.
  14. To clarify, the version is V5 Final, released April 2011. It has "19 playable characters, 64 enemies, 103 stages, and 76 remixed, remastered music tracks â?? all based on the three original Sega Genesis games and their Game Gear conversions. On top of that, it sports an impressive number of editors, modes, options, and other improvements." I haven't been able to complete it yet, so I haven't unlocked any new fighters etc. This is really good, the best remake I've seen yet, commercial or otherwise. Having it run at 320x240 is definately better than some widescreen graphics tablet drawn 1080p rubbish IMO. So much good stuff in this. Have you fought the ultra-gay boss yet? Or kicked Cody's ass from Final Fight? I like the way you can pull off your special move without hurting yourself if the power bar is "OK", and combining weapons with special moves for even more special moves... hehe and Dr Zan is badass... and Blaze has indeed aged wonderfully, gravity has not dragged her down
  15. It's a recent clean install, I'm not sure about deleting cache files and looking in ini files, I don't know what to expect. I think I'll just set aside an hour sometime to find and remove those annoying casino non-games from the All MAME Games list. I hate it when they come up in screensaver. Thanks fellas.
  16. If RCR is as good as Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game then I'll be rocking that with my bro for sure... provided Playstation Network can gets its act together.
  17. Nope, all official DATs and whatnot, with the Adult and Mahjong games filtered out in GameEx options.
  18. I cannot recommend Streets of Rage Remake enough. The final version was released this month after 8 years in the making. Sega, who knew about the project through a formal letter from Bomber Games, promptly shut it down. But that won't stop me seeding it. Find the torrent and enjoy the best Streets of Rage yet!
  19. I've been trying to filter the casino games from MAME. If I choose a game, then from the menu choose "More : Casino" I get 209 games. Great - but I cannot remove them from this list. It says "Removed" but it is not. If I remove them from the "All Games" list it works fine. Is there a quick way to remove them without having to seek them out of 9000+ MAME games? GameEx Forever, Ian
  20. Thanks HanSolo, Frequency, Tempest, and anyone else. It works great! (although I don't know how goodmerge works so I just extracted everything)
  21. I just had the same problem, but the list updated fully on the second attempt. Without being specific my GameEx has had lots of weird things happen recently, things like old roms long since deleted returning to my favourites list, "please wait" progress bars hanging forever, "HiToText" crashing every time GameEx is run, the screensaver failing to run on the first few attempts, GameExtender not publishing anyting to GameEx live or my gamercard. I've tried clearing the cache but that doesn't help. I'm going to do a completely clean install of GameEx when my new SSD arrives in the post next week. Love GameEx and havent had to do a clean reinstall in all the years I've been using it though... maybe it is time. edit: time indeed, had to do a complete fresh install from scratch, no shortcuts. worth it in the end.
  22. Many thanks Draco!
  23. Requesting an addition, What's the best Atari ST emulator for use in GameEx, besides MESS?
  24. Go to Advanced Configuration and find the offending emulator, where it says "Show Last Played" select No. edit: too slow....
  25. WinUAELoader.exe -mode whdload -rom "[ROMPath]\[RomFile]" Is that what you meant?
