  1. You've got me there, I'm not sure I've even seen the WHDLoad config page. sorry.
  2. I think you may be running in Debug mode. Go to gameex advanced configuration and find your amiga emulator section, and set debug mode to false. As for the speed, try running your WinUAE in a lower resolution, or using a different renderer such as direct3D. What do you mean about hiding the WHDloader screen? Have you have registered WHDLoad? It's worth it, I use it in GameEx and my real Amiga. Some WHDLoad hacked games won't run on the unregistered version.
  3. Lol, goodness gracious. Sometimes visiting GameEx Live was like being 12 again and finding a shredded playboy in a bush at the local park
  4. Good idea. If this project has any relation to which emulator is suitable for frontends, I think your WinUAELoader application should be mentioned alongside WinUAE. Unless we're keeping it simple at this point. I agree with nullPointer's suggestions. opinions: [Console] Sega SG-1000 (Fusion) - Best [PC] Atari 8-bit (Altirra) - Best [PC] Sinclair Spectrum (ZXSpin) - Good * *I haven't found a "best" speccy emulator yet, especially not for use with a frontend.
  5. I haven't seen any accidental porn in GameEx Live for months! Come on chaps - let's see your smut.
  6. Compiling your own MAME is definately the way to go - optimising, removing the nag and saving high scores for most ROMs. It's pretty easy if you follow headkaze's instructions and use his compiler tool. You don't have to be a smartypants.
  7. Great, 5200 support as well. It's a nice accurate emulator.
  8. Thanks for the advice. Now that you mention it, I can't think of anything for the SG-1000. I think the other bits done by greatflash are nifty and don't need changing. If you wanted to put art into the list section of the Sinclair Spectrum background perhaps the Ocean artwork of Chase HQ, the speccy version was great. Ocean Chase HQ Just a suggestion, you can ignore the lot, I'm not the one doing the work!
  9. That BlueBox theme is lovely. nice one fella! merry christmas.

  10. A very excellent theme! Thanks for the additions and making me aware of it. Great job GreatFlash and Adultery. Edit - I've just added the individual system backgrounds via config, and they're really gorgeous! If you're up for adding any, I'd like to see The Sega Mega CD, the Sega SG-1000, PC Games, and if you can be bothered the Sinclair Spectrum 128k (I seperate the 16k and 48k games in a different list to the 128k due to compatability errors / multiload features) Also, Will I have to edit the theme manually to remove weather and date/time? Space is limited with the large fonts on the TV set inside my cab. toodle pip
  11. I wouldn't set it to F12 if you're using WinUAE. That's the problem - finding a key that emulators for home computers won't need at some point. I also would like an option to disable it entirely - sorry Tom.
  12. Got to agree there. GameEx is the best software available for windows. It made me realise the dream of having my own cabinet, as it brought all the emulators together and made them easily accessible from an arcade controller. So now I have built my own cab with GameEx inside, it is the best toy ever. When the laminating and painting is complete I will post it in the cabinets thread.
  13. Sorry if this has been requested already. I would like to filter out casino / gambling games if at all possible, much like the adult and mahjong filters. What's the point in them?
  14. Hi all, I need help with creating a batch file for an old PC game (Grand Prix Legends). Specifically I want the batch file to: 1. Load an ATI display profile that is 1080p. 2. Start the game's front end 3. When all the processes specified in the advanced config have closed, I would like to load an ATI display profile for 1024x768 before returning to GameEx. Also, I would like to add more programs to the "process wait" section of my advanced config, It seems limited to 4 in Advanced Config Editor - and they're all used up with one game. Here is the batch file so far "C:\Program Files\ATI Technologies\ATI.ACE\Core-Static\CLI.exe" Start Load profilename="Display - 1080p" "C:\Program Files\GPLSecrets\GEM+\GEMP2.exe" Attached are my PC Games emulator config and the PC Games advanced config. Thanks anyone that can help or suggest a better way, and hopefully i could apply the knowledge to other PC Games. PC Games ini.7z
  15. Altirra works well for me when emulating the 8-bit home computers in GameEx.
  16. It's been in GameEx for hundreds of ages.
  17. gameex.net -> Community -> Get a Game Tag -> Check email -> win
  18. You could try going into advanced configuration, then clicking on an emulator, then finding the "Advanced Config" section and click on Edit. find and untick "Map Escape" then save the file with a unique name. Then choose your new file next to "Advanced Config" (May need a refresh to show up).
  19. Have you checked that "Show Last Played" is set to Yes for all of your emulators in advanced configuration?
  20. Regarding WinUAE, use headkaze's excellent WinUAELoader http://www.gameex.info/forums/index.php?showtopic=4939&st=0 Attached, my Amiga ini's for GameEx Advanced configuration, maybe you can make your own based on something like this. AmigaINI.zip
  21. @starbuck: updated hardware drivers or reinstalled DirectX yet? Just updated after playing Red Dead for a few weeks, damn this looks much nicer than before. Smooth.
  22. I'm using ZX Spin v0.7s which is not the most stable ZX spin, but has some nice features. That's the most recent version I can find. The poor backwards compatibility of 128k speccys means I have set up 2 different emulator folders, one for 16-48ks and the other for 128k onwards. Many older games crash unless they are loaded from 48k mode. 128k spectrums are good for preloading all of the levels at once in certain games and AY music. A command line switch to set the hardware would be good if you know it.
  23. Could anyone please tell me where I am going wrong with my game card? edit: Thanks Tempest! Should've checked my email. What a dope.
  24. Looks clean, I'll like to try it out when it's done
  25. I think that "press any key" in the DOS window thing might be that you are running these games in debug mode?
