Thanks for posting this, but... it didn't work. My Roms match, the overlays match, the line in vectrex.lay matches. Not sure what the problem is. Maybe it's in MESS?
-
No, it was posted on the forum I think last week...check the postings, it wasnt more than a week ago as my file is dated 20 Sep. Instead of that video with the 'Oh Yeah' song by Yellow, someone posted a wicked cool video with MAME being written in lightning. It looks like good quality. So I want to use it. IMBerzerk

I can't remember or find where you turn on the intro video for GameEx. I want to play that cool MAME lightning video Sorry guys... I know it's a silly question. Lend it to old age. Thanks in advance, IMBerzerk
-
I used whatever the default GameEx command line was. It works fine. I have not tied in the overlays yet, but the games work great.

I agree as well... best two for each. Intellivision Nostalgia - best choice for Inty but no hardware stretching http://www.shiny-technologies.com/nostalgia.php - supports CGC (Classic Game Controller) so you can use actual Inty controllers to play Current version: 5.0 MESS - looks most realistic with Hardware stretching included www.mess.org - can support 'Sears Bios', and also CGC. However, only uses .ROM images, not .int or .bin Current version: 127

Take sledgehammer... and hit me in the head with it... it will make things MUCH clearer for me.. honestly... While I got your ear... how do I turn the intro video back on. I want to run that cool MAME lightning video, and damn, I forgot where it is. I turned it off weeks ago... Thanks for all your help. IMBerzerk

I tried MESS and it kept kicking me out. Am I missing something, a bios ROM? Meka runs the Colecovision pretty nice. I figured out how to get it fullscreen. I needed to run the Meka Configuration utility.
-
Hello fellas, I'm almost there... very close to being done. #1. I'm using Meka for the ColecoVision. My problem is that Meka starts OK, but how do I avoid loading the GUI? The game is running in the 'TV' in the GUI. I've tried everything in the GUI, which does go to fullscreen. But when it restarts, it goes back to the GUI screen. GameEx has the %[enter] statement, which is not helping as it sets the GUI to fullscreen. Is there a DOS command line version? #2. For Atari 5200, I'm using Jum's A5200. Is there a way to configure the keyboard controls? If not, is there a better emulator for the 5200. I like Jum's, but I disable the <ctrl>, <alt> and <space> on my set. The kids kept screwing everything up with those enabled. Thanks as always, IMBerzerk

Gotcha. That's what I thought. For instance, I name Raid on Bungeling Bay just that... instead of ROBB as the ROM is titled. Stuff like that takes eons to correct. But if you know the name in the ROM file, then you can easily fix it. Same for my Inty ROMs. I use the long names for everything. IMBerzerk

I don't know if I can ask this, but where do you get the Gamebase 64 romsets? For years I've been pulling them from Arnold64. That sounds a lot easier. Also, I guess the info coming on about the game would have to do with the game name and database matching? That's probably one of my issues. I tend to rename my ROMS to something more recognizable. best, IMBerzerk

How about a Commodore 64 database? I'd like to work on my own. What do I need to start out?
-
I'd like to try it, adding in my own slew of stuff. How do I start, and where are the files. I've done a lot of DB work on the game I've been working on, but it was cutting and pasting, like you mentioned. All of it dealing with aircraft slots, and Ace information. Maybe I'll try it.... see how it goes. IMBerzerk
-
Ah-ha... that explains why I can't find it anywhere. I've been looking in every folder for each emulator with no results. Thanks for all your work, I'm looking forward to the new Inty DB. IMBerzerk
-
Thanks for the info on this... I'll pass. I'm not a very good DB guy. I don't have a brain for that (or anything else... ). How about the history and info that comes up on the page when you select the game. I'd like to add a lot more to my Intellivision and Atari games if I can. Many are just blank. I'd be happy to make anything I add to available, but I don't know how that's done either. Thanks again... I'm learning... and I do have to add that this front end really rocks!!! IMBerzerk
-
Is there any info on how to do this? I have a few emulators with many games missing info that I'd like to add to. Where does GameEx pull this info from. Thanks, IMBerzerk

Q, It might be better to take this to the Daphne forum. Tred lightly though.... it kinda gets rough there at times. If you get DL2 working right in Daphne, you should be able to copy the run statement right from the command line box and drop it into the command line of Gameex. There is no difference. The only change I saw, was setting the correct ROM line in Gameex. I set that to the rom that I wanted, and DL is playing perfectly now. IMBerzerk

'Future Retro' is my choice. My cabinet is a restored Stern Berzerk cabinet (well...converted from a beat-up Frenzy unit) with an original glass bezel in it. The bezel already has a ton of colorful graphics painted on it, plus I made my control panel look something like the original. So anything other than drab grey is too much too look at. Plus I like how descrete the top option buttons are. You can barely notice them as they look more like a design. It's a well laid-out theme in my opinion. Clean and tight. IMBerzerk

Although this doesn't say exactly why... it might help a little. This is from the Daphne website.... http://www.daphne-emu.com/site3/faq_entry.php?id=23 Thanks for the help, I'll try it. I'd hate to loose those scenes. IMBerzerk

I have the command line in Gameex set to play the 'Enhanced' version via setting it up and copying it from Daphne's command line. The enhanced version is the one that plays the Drawbridge and entry room scenes. It works fine when I use Daphne, but not out of GameEx. I looks like it's playing the original version which skips the Drawbridge scene. When I set up Dargon's Lair in Gameex, it had a line for 'ROM' which is set to 'lair'. Do I have to change that to something else? Also... is there anyway to avoid the whole boot process in Dragon's Lair. I thought there was a -fastboot command you could add, but it doesn't work. Thanks a mil, IMBerzerk

Thanks for the help fellas... this is exactly what I am looking for. I am still working my way into the emulators, trying to learn the in's and out's of each of them, and getting the right combination that work the best. I'll try the VirtuaNES and see how that works. JNES is OK, but I think it's a little off on the colors and sound. Also, that PSX to PC is what I am looking for. I have a Classic Game Controller that at one time the designer of Nostalgia, Joe Fisher, made. It was designed to work with Intellivision controller and works great. Being able to use the original controllers adds another level of fun to any emulator. Thanks for all the great advice. I'm having more fun with my cabinet now then I've had the previous 7 years. IMBerzerk
-
Cool, that was it. However, the JNES now comes up on the desktop, I then have to manually open the file and run it. ZSNES is working perfectly. Do you use your keyboard mappings to control theses emus, or do you have something hooked up to use the original NES/SNES controllers? Thanks, IMBerzerk
-
First off... man, I gotta tell ya. I built my first cabinet 8 years ago, and all that time, I've tried and tried to find an front end that will handle it all. Well... wow!!! GameEx keeps suprizing me left and right. It's fantastic! All the videos running, the choice of emulators, the look and feel... the info, the pics, snaps, titles, boxes... all of it. Perfect in everyway. Now... can someone help me to get JNES and ZSNES to work? All I get is a blank screen. If you need anything to look at, let me know and I will post it. All I did was leave everything on default, pointed it at my location and rom folders, and changed the ini file for ZSNES as per that tutorial (so it will return to the GameEx menu) Thanks in advance, IMberzerk

I Googled 'Media Player Codecs' and dowloaded "AVICodecPackPlus220" from C-Net and installed. Works great now. IMBerzerk
-
Here's another..... I want it... it's awesome... when can I have it?!?!? Are you making it in 1024x768? I use video previews for some of my emus, are the boxes too big for the videos? I'm looking forward to this one. Good luck with it. IMBerzerk

LOL!.. I guess it's about time I made an avatar with a Berzerk robot in it.... Glad to be here, and I have already learned why my highscores do not keep. I'll recompile MAME and sort that out now that I know. All the best, IMBerzerk
