  1. I sincerely apologize... thanks for correcting me. I just thought I was going to go through another MAME forum disaster every time I ask a question. I've been around MAME and emulation for years... probably 10 now as MAME is 10 years old and I still have one of the first editions. In fact.... Nostalgia the Intellivision Emulator... Joe Fisher was a friend of mine, and I Beta tested several versions of it before it was finalized.... which it still isn't, he wanted to go further but never did. I even used to run an Intellivsion website called the Intellivision Bodega... that's how long I've been into this hobby. But as I found in the past, it seems when you ask questions on certain forms that involve guys that are at a higher brain wave that the users, it can get ugly. I've seen the same thing happen on the Daphne forum as well. So when I got that response, my reaction was what it was, my bad, I over-reacted with the preconception I stated above. Like I said, I'm not a new kid on the block, just new to GameEx. Ayhoots... it won't stop me from being here, it looks like a good place and nice folk... plus this front end kicks supreme a$$. All the best, and thanks for answering my question. PS... it is certainly easier to ask you questions in English that it was to ask a question on Mala's forum which was in German. I had to copy everything into a translater, than back into the forum and PRAY I wasn't insulting someone with the wrong word. IMBerzerk. BTW... maybe I should point out why IMBerzerk is my call-sign. My first cabinet was made from a Berzerk cabinet which I completely refurbed with all that great stuff Ultimarc mkes. Andy rocks!
  2. Thanks for the help B. Hoffman... I kept looking through the menus, and man, there are plenty to play with... and I found some of my own answers. I appreciate your help. bkenobi.... rude... yeah, well I'm sure you can't help that. That's always the best way to build a solid fan base. I'll read the FAQ myself and figure it out. Again, seeing this is the 4th Front end I've put in this particular cabinet in 8 years (MAME32, ArcadeOS, MameWah, Mala), I can handle it. Thank for taking the time to look down at my from your Ivory Tower of Knowledge. Just to let you know, I am 1 of 7 other Developers of a WWI sim called Over Flanders Fields, due for commercial release this October/November. We run our own forums on Sim-Outhouse, SimHQ, and AirCombat.com... and treat every Newbie with respect, no matter how stupid the question is. Our fan base is massive if you're into Air Combat PC sims. So I may not be experienced with GameEX.... but I know how to treat people. Best regards, IMBerzerk.
  3. Hello again, I've been exploring the heck out of GameEx and so far, it's fantastic. It's definately the cutting edge on Game Cabinet front ends. On to the questions, some of which are silly, but need to be asked... keep in mind, little kids use my cabinets, so I have to make things as SIMPLE as possible...even for us adults after a few rounds... 1. I'd like to jump letters in my MAME list, rather than just hold the stick down and let it scroll. With all the other front ends, push the stick left or right (arrow left/arrow right mapping) I used to be able to jump from A to F to K... or just jump from A to B to C... etc. How can I do this in GameEx. I don't want to use the buttons on the control panel. I see the keyboard mapping options, but nothing is mentioned about left or right in the game listing. Left and Right move me from the list to the options up top. Not good. 2. I'd like to drop all options from all lists, including 'Add to Favorites'. I don't see an option to do that in the Emulators menu. Can that be done? I've gotten it down pretty low... also I want to drop the list on the left 'By name, by year.... etc. As little as possible is what I need. 3. How the heck does the Jukebox start automatically? I just can't get this to work. That's it for now. I appreciate any help you can give. I know how hard it is to make these things, for donation money. I intend to donate to kill the wait time, but right now I just want to get GameEx as minimal as possible. Thanks in advance, IMBerzerk
  4. I know I am missing something, somewhere, but I can't find the box to 'tick' to get it to start. I checked Audio properties and all looks like it shoudl work, whereas I have set to start on Startup. Thanks IMBerzerk.
  5. OK, that file worked like a charm! It's running great under GameEx. So far, this frontend is the best thing I've ever seen! IMBerzerk
  6. Yes, he's right. Once you are done downloading the updates (which take a very long time even on boradband, it's about 1 GB), then you're OK. But the videos look 100% better, no interlacing. I tried re-sampling mine with everything out there, and they still did not look as good as they do now. I'm going to try the setup right now. IMBerzerk
  7. OK, I'll take a look there. Thanks for your help. As you found out, there is a difference between 1.0 and the earlier version. All the best, IMBerzerk
  8. Hello Gents, I am a newbie here, but not to Game Cabinets. I've tried MameWah, Mala, MAME32, launching from the start menu, etc... etc.. all with issues, and HOURS spent configuring stuff. So I stumble on to GameEx which looks AWESOME!!! I quickly loaded it, and within 20 minutes it was running MAME just fine. So on to Daphne. Daphne 1.0 is probably the best version of Daphne, however comes with some annoying issues like auto-downloading the updates to the footage (.OGG, .MOV files) as well as not using the framefile.txt file like it used to. Are you guys running version 1.0 or a .99.x version with GameEx? Can someone lend a hand to me and show me what it takes to get Daphne running with GameEx, I had no success with Mala, and barely got it working with MameWah. I'm nothing close to a programmer, but I can naviagte through the txt files. All the best, and thanks in advance. GameEx looks like the answer to all my wishes for a simply, informative, all-around Front-end for my cabinet(s).... I have 3. IMBerzerk
