While GameEx does cache models there will be an improvement in that area in an upcoming release. Also adding rotation should be possible without the need to rotate the actual model.

That's great news Tom. I can't wait to fix that BBCode limit

A feature I use alot in graphics is converting a color to alpha. The only software I know that can do this in a simple way is Gimp. It's the only reason I install Gimp. Anyway I got sick of running Gimp just to use this feature and decided to write an app to do it. It uses the same algorithm as the Gimp plugin. It supports batch processing, has a colour picker and is very simple to use. Download Color2Alpha

http://www.mameworld.info/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Number=308967 One of the most interesting features added is the lua scripting support. There are some really cool things that can be done using lua scripting such as being able to display your CP, instructions, move commands etc. over MAME without the need to compile a custom version. It does say it's a "basic hookup" at this point so probably not much that can be done yet but it will be interesting to see where they take it.

Can you please include the square brackets in any name requests. -
Official System Names
headkaze replied to headkaze's topic in FAQs, Guides, & Other Useful Information
That's a great point null and I think we really need to add another parameter to all the emulator profiles which is the hard-coded name that matches the official list. At the moment we're using StartPageName but this is a value that users can change and therefore is useless for identifying the actual system and emulator in things like the plugins. So yeah I will be renaming all the emulator profiles to match as well as adding a new parameter for this purpose. Also some of the databases will need to be renamed to match the list. It's going to be a bit of work to get all this right but once it's done it should make everyone's life a lot easier in the long run -

If you don't mind Tom, at least for now, I'd like to keep the emulators in. We can always shorten the list and remove them later. I think it will be nice to have the emultor logos in there just incase as I may need it just to test support for them (even if we remove them from the default theme). Also I need them in the list to make sure the emulator profiles will match. This thread is not just for the new theme format but a definitive naming convention for everything system related in GameEx from the name passed into plugins, emulator profiles to the database names. -
Good to see this issue resolved. So it looks like the WMP interop dll's were not compiled to x86 format.

Okay I've decided that I will have to manage the list myself because I need to have it synced with my local copy and FTP. So if you need any changes or additions please just make a post. I've added some of Crylen's extra systems. I've merged the emulator profile list with the emulators added in brackets. The reason for this is because it is an official system list I think we should include emulators. It will also mean people can make emulator specific layouts if they wish. -

I'm happy for Adobe Flash to go under [PC] I think the other tricky thing is we need to match the emulator profiles with the database names. So we're going to need to rename either the profiles or databases that don't match. -

Yes you're right Draco there can't be any filename unfriendly characters in the name. -

[THEME] (XBMC) Aeon Inspiriat - Now Released!
headkaze replied to Crylen's topic in GameEx Media Projects
I took some time to save out the backgrounds and logos from this great Theme. All credit goes to Crylen. http://headsoft.com.au/download/gameex/AeonGfx.7z -
Can you show us the contents of your D:\Apps\MinGW\source\Mame0148u2 and D:\Apps\MinGW\patches folders.
-
In Mame Compiler did you set your MinGW path to D:\Apps\MinGW?
-
I was going to suggest re-installing WMP but I see you've already tried that. What codec pack are you using? I would uninstall all codec packs and install Shark's Codec Pack. It might also be worth trying to install x64 Components also.

WinUAE Loader v1.78 Released - Updated video options
-
BFM and MFME profiles are already included in GameEx.
-
Or just delete all the files in the ini folder.
-
Would have been great except it just crashed for me. I had a look around for something else and found Quick Sound Switch which does the same thing but doesn't crash. Sweet
-
No I mean for the default theme. I try not to mess with the users' colour scheme in my apps.
