  1. I'd like to know what condition GameEx uses to perform an auto update. Is it scheduled at a certain time, or what? Anyone know?

    Icons

Yes, I have the same issue. I expect this will be fixed in a future release when Tom sees it.
  3. Why are you using iRotate when GameEx now has built in screen rotation?
  4. You can view some screenshots here
  5. You should copy an exiting theme and rename the copy to V for Vendetta, then copy over the backgrounds like you did in step 4.
  6. This is a very common problem.. you need to uninstall the offical DivX codec and install the ffdshow daily build instead.
  7. This idea sort of coincides with some recent GameEx features, namely the auto update feature and config website. This idea involves the creation of an area on the GameEx update server that has a database of Emulator config files. In GameEx a feature is added that allows you to browse these configs and download them into GameEx. After selecting which Emulator section to download the config into (eg. You select Emulator_1 for an N64 config - the N64.ini file is downloaded and placed into the GameEx.ini file) and then an Emulator Setup Wizard is started.. The Wizard could have an option to auto-dowload the N64 emulator and then start auto-installing it. The Wizard would then go through and let you browse/setup the directories for the ROMs and executable.
  8. What do you mean by "direct net connection"... although there have been viruses in the past that can get through ports I don't think there are many with this capability even if your not behind a firewall/NAT etc. Viruses can't just jump through a port... you must have downloaded something and executed it on your machine.
  9. You can download it from the main page here
  10. It's amazing how ironic some people can be, especially the ignorant ones! As Tom mentioned the XBOX 360 is an extender and therefore it operates as one using Remote Desktop streaming. It is impossible to stream DirectX games at a decent speed (go ahead give it a try), so even if GameEx was designed to work on an extender, the games and emulators wouldn't work anyway. If you knew anything about MCE development (which clearly you don't) you would realise that these limitations may still even be present in Vista's MCE edition. That said, it's unlikely you will be able to run any games through an extender for the foreseeable future. Next time do a bit of reasearch before you mouth off about something you know nothing about!
  11. With the PJ64 one, make sure you have it set to go into fullscreen as per the instructions on the user submitted config topic here. You shouldn't need to set "ShowDesktop=True" if you have it set to go full screen.
  12. I don't think there is built in support to do this in GameEx, but you might wan't to consider creating a "soft link". I'm not sure if you can link two folders into one, but you could try. There is a handy util that integrates hard/soft links for an NTFS file system called NTFSLink.
  13. The best way to solve this mystery... - Use File Monitor to find out what process is actually launching ehshell.exe when you exit the game. - Edit the offending file in a hex editor and do a search for ehshell.exe. Remove it by overwriting the text with 0x00. - You may also try a search in the games directory for files containing the word "ehshell.exe" and try to find it that way. - Make sure you make a backup of the file before you edit it, so you can replace it back if it dosn't work.
  14. That's the thing, I only have the top option selected (hide my email address) and all the rest are not selected. It has been like this for a while but I still get e-mails. Perhaps I'm recieving e-mails from threads that were automatically subscribed before I changed my settings?
  15. Hi Tom I have turned off the option to receive e-mails from a subscribed topic, but I still receive them. Is there a bug in the forum software or is there an option I'm missing?
  16. A long time ago I had a similar problem, try deleting the generated icon files in the MEDIA directory and then do a MAME list update. You will need to exit GameEx after the update because I believe when the icons are generated again they need to be reloaded at the start of GameEx.
  17. Nice work amos! Hey I was just browsing the aussie MCE forums and saw your name on there
  18. Just booted up my Cab, am wondering will the auto update just happen without asking me by default? Do I have to do anything for it to update? I have a fairly recent version and I normally download to do an update.
  19. Although I don't fully agree with you on the internal Media Player for GameEx (which as far as I know is just WMP object anyway which uses the WMP engine). I have a command line alternative that I have compiled that uses the WMP10 COM object so it's just WMP10 but it has true full screen (exclusive mode), exit using ESC and automatically exits after the media has finished playing. It also has the standard WMP10 context menu if you need it. If you *have* to use an external player, I'd recommend you use this one. wmpfull
  20. I don't know why the original poster is having a problem setting WorkingPath to the executable's path, because my config does just that. See my post on this page
  21. You've done a good job of getting where you are now. Perhaps you need to check out the Registry using RegMon when you move display2 to the left or the right of display1 and click apply. You should be able to see the settings being applied to registry, then export those as another .reg file to make sure the monitor is positioned where you want. Not sure about the shortcut key problem, but I believe a small script made with Autohotkey could solve this problem. It has a very good scripting system and should have everything you need. You may also need PPJoyKey to register the Rumblepad2 as a keystroke.
  22. WorkingPath is where the executable for the emulator is located.
  23. Actually that line should be AlsoLaunch=vpauto.exe
  24. Yes, that has caused alot of people to get it wrong, I'll see if I can find it and fix it. Hmm can't find the original config post in user submitted configs. BTW AlsoLaunch=vpauto.exe should work fine also.
  25. What a beast! I don't know if that would even fit through my door. My cab made it with about a centimeter left on each side! BTW There is a sticky topic for posting cab pics.
