Is there a way to display what type of clone is in the list? Right now, for instance; I have clones on and some games may have up to 10-15 clones. they all have the same name. I would like it better if it was somehting like: Galaga Galaga Version 2 Galaga Hack Something like that would be better than: Galaga Galaga Galaga

It isn't a bad idea but I think most people don't really use a keyboard as a feature on their machines. When you go to a game in GameEx, it has a list of similar titles and sequels at the bottom where the history is. I have always used that and the KLOV (Killer List of Video Games).
-
Where is that feature in the config? I couldn't find it.
-
Fixed it! Thanks Tom!

Is there a way to map the keys for navigating around in the jukebox? What I mean by that is if I want to skip to the next track (Or the previous one), I have to hit the Player 2; buttons 2 or 5. I would rather have them set to be the player 1 joystick where moving it to the right would skip forward and moving it back would skip left. I feel like I saw this option somewhere or saw a topic where someone talked about this but I can't find it. Is it in the config file somewhere?
-
Good idea and a great site! I look forward to all the themes getting thrown on it!
-
OK, I tried it on a different theme and it worked with no problems...I don't understand though. It used to work on that theme.
-
I will try it when I get home today... it used to work on my theme though.
-
Anyone have any ideas?

I will post the whole log when I get home from work today. It happens every time I select Jukebox and it doesn't happen at any other time on any of the other menus. I can't figure out why either because I didn't change anything at all other than upgrade regularly... and since no one else is having this problem, it must be something on my system.
-
GameEx has always worked but for some reason, I started getting crashes whenever I start my jukebox. Don't know why, I haven't changed anything and I update whenever Tom makes any changes. Here is what the log says: 21:22:29.3 5/14/2006: 21 Consecutive Exceptions Occured: Exiting 21:22:29.3 5/14/2006: Error in the application. 21:22:29.6 5/14/2006: at Microsoft.DirectX.DirectDraw.Surface.DrawInternal(tagRECT* destRectangle, Surface sourceSurface, tagRECT* srcRectangle, DrawFlags flags, DrawEffects& bltEffects) 21:22:29.6 5/14/2006: at Microsoft.DirectX.DirectDraw.Surface.Draw(Rectangle destRectangle, Surface sourceSurface, Rectangle srcRectangle, DrawFlags flags) 21:22:29.6 5/14/2006: at GameEx.GameEx.mainform.DrawMenuText(Int32 x, Int32 y, String textstring) 21:22:29.6 5/14/2006: at GameEx.GameEx.mainform.DrawMenuText() 21:22:29.6 5/14/2006: at GameEx.GameEx.mainform.DrawMenuImages() 21:22:29.6 5/14/2006: at GameEx.GameEx.mainform.DisplayFrame() Anyone, please help me if you can.

Completed Feature Requests (Moved)
TalkingBull replied to jr9770's topic in FAQs, Guides, & Other Useful Information
Tom, I saw this on RetroBlast and was wondering if there was a way to incorporate it into GameEx: "It Freakin' Talks! - PowerMAME 0.105.0.0 beta Released!!! Posted by: James McGovern PowerMAME Speaks Are you kidding me? Talking MAME, that's right TALKING MAME!!!! Mike Quinlan, the programmer behind the PowerMAME project has just earned my total respect and admiration with this new release of his MAME port which features speech routines that can give you some history on the game you are about to play as well as describe the controls that are used for each game. Couple this with the LED Wiz support and your control panel not only talks, but also lights up the controls used as part of the demonstration. Ok, I have had more than one cup of coffee here, but you have got to see the movie Mike is hosting on the PowerMAME site, it just blew me away with the overall WOW factor. Make sure and check out the details at the PowerMAME project site and chime in on the project at BYOAC PowerMAME Speaks! (WMV)" -
Thanks Tom, worked like a charm!

Is there a way to display a snapshot when you are looking at a video to play under Media/Videos? I put all of the Family Guy eps on a drive and have them in there and it would be cool to have snaps... don't know if this is a feature request or if I just don't know how to do it
-
Mine show up when I display with no clones... I had a question about this though, is there a way to actually use 2 monitors to play aplayer's choice game? I have two set up where one is for GameExtender.
-
Actually, I tried all three and got the same result.
-
For some reason, whenever I select a game, it will go to a different game. It doesn't do it for every game on the list but I would say about 60% of them. I checked and it is doing it in every section (MAME, Emu, Favorites, etc...). I have no idea why it is doing this but I noticed it after I updated to 5.73 For example, if I want to play Puzzle Bobble from my favorites, I will select it and instead of taking me to the Puzzle Bobble page (With the game, flyer, history, etc...) it will go to a different game on the same list like Dig Dug. Help!
-
Whenever GameEx loads, it shows my MAME background as my start. When I go to another page, the correct StartBak loads and remains but it is always wrong when it loads up. Also when I go to the Emulators seciton, my StartBak is there and not my EmuBak, that shows up on each Emulator's page.
-
I can't get emulator backgrounds to show in GamEx. I created the Themes\Eulators directory and it keeps showing the background I specified for the Eumlator page. I went into the config page to set it there and it found the file but it sitll isn't showing in Gamex.
-
Actually, I would rather move those objects rather than get rid of them (I like them). the problem is that it pushes the picture down and to the right which makes it fit outside the border of my background. Also, am I doing something wrong or is it not yet possible to have seperate layouts for MAME/Daphne/Emulators/etc...?
-
Is ther any way to turn off the: BY NAME BY CATAGORY BY MANUFACTURER BY YEAR Or is there a way to move it around in the Theme Editor? I can't figure this one out and my layout is getting screwed up whenever I use it. Also, I would like to have a different layout on each of my emulators. I se the templates and everytihng in Theme Editor but when I change one, it changes all of them. This wouldn't be too much of an issue but it doesn't look right with all of the backgrounds. I don't know if I am doing something wrong or if this hasn't been developed into the editor yet. Also, when I go to the emulator page, it displays the background/layout for MAME instead of the one I have set for the emulator. One last thing, I made the /Themes/Emulator folder and put the images into it but it hasn't changed anything. Thanks!
-
I tried it but got the same result. It keeps kicking me back.
-
It used to be when GameEx was running in Attract/Screensaver mode and I walked by and saw a game I liked, I could hit the insert coin button and begin playing it. Now when I do it, I can only play the game for about 20 seconds and it kicks back to GameEx. I didn't change any of my settings but I update whenever Tom does a new release. Is anyone else having this problem?
-
Looks like it is coming along great! I can't wait to give it a try!
