  3. Yes! Databases can be edited. They are located in the DATA\EMULATORS directory of your GameEx install. If you do edit them then make sure to back them up as GameEx will overwrite them on upgrades or you can also just set the file to read only to avoid that.
  4. If your using the databases than you can just select categories and it will list the ROMS by category just like MAME. So just make sure you're pointing to the Database in Emulator Setup.
  5. Good deal! Hope that next time that happens that you'll remember! Have fun!
  6. I don't use Alcohol here but I've read about this experience with other mounting tools. Are your games zipped? Only solution for now might be to script something to add a delay after mounting to ensure that the image is loaded before the emulator starts. Brian Hoffman did this for VisitorQ who was having problems with MagicEngine I believe. If you're sure that your settings are correct then this is something we need to get Tom to look at. Might be helpful to us if you post your config settings so we can have a look.
  7. In Advanced MAME Settings just add the 2-player version to the Don't Filter These ROMS setting and add the 4-player version to the Excluded ROMS setting.
  8. Looks like you had the same problem here. I thought this looked familiar. Was your catver.ini from what I remember. Also as far as your roms not listing then it has to do with your filters. Check your filters as far as what roms you wanna list. Or upload your GameEx.ini and we can help you with your filters depending on what you want.

Take a look at Headkaze's CPWizard found here! This might be what you're wanting.
  10. They do not need to be unzipped to work! Leave them in their current state. Just make sure you're pointing to the correct directory and that bezels are enabled. Look for these options in the mame.ini file. # # CORE SEARCH PATH OPTIONS # rompath Path to your roms. samplepath samples artpath Path to your artwork ctrlrpath ctrlr inipath ini fontpath . # # CORE ARTWORK OPTIONS # artwork_crop 0 use_backdrops 1 use_overlays 1 use_bezels 1
  11. Update GameEx can be disabled by changing the Enable Auto GameEx Updates found in the Enable/Disable features of either GameEx configs. Default setting is Ask me If I want to update and you might be looking to set this to Disable Automatic Updates if I'm reading correctly.
  12. Well seeing that you're selecting the game and it's not running than I would guess that it has to do with your filters. Maybe you're using zip support and only using zip as your filter so when It unzips then of course since no other filters are set then there are no games to play which is why you don't see the "play this game" option. Hard to tell though. Please post your config and we can determine why it's not showing.
  13. What's the resolution of your screen? Also what size is the text being set to in the Text and Font tab in the Karaoke for DirectX Properties?
  14. No problem. Enjoy and welcome to the forums!
  15. You're issue has to do with Emulate Mouse setting found in the External Applications section. If you set to Disabled then this issue won't occur.
  16. K. Found the problem. It has to do with the setting Enable SlikStik and IPAC Support set to YES in the Input Settings. So this is something that Tom will have to look into.
  17. I duplicated your issue using your GameEx.ini so comparing settings now to try to figure it out. So give me some time unless someone else knows the issue off hand.
  18. Just tested and H and L work on my end. Post your GameEx.ini so we can verify your settings.
  19. Well only solution I can think of is have a script launch with GameEx. Then wait till you're in the karaoke section of GameEx using GameEx's title since you can't do it by waiting for a PID since GameEx launches it itself. Then run your code. I can whip up something for you but I need more detail on what command-line switches audiorepeater use.
  20. I just tested using your GameEx.ini on my system and it worked fine. I would say maybe the problem lies in your IE install or something else that is conflicting. Maybe Tom will know.
  21. To answer this part, do what I suggested earlier and set up as an External Application and it will return you back to the main selection screen since you're using flat menu's. I've tested it and it will give you the results you're after.
  22. That doesn't work either. Try saving them as txt files or even zipping them would work.
  23. Post the info in files or in codeboxes please. That way it doesn't take the whole screen for this info.
  24. Thanks for the heads up!
