  1. yes, I ment the settings in the B2S ScreenRes Editor. regarding alt+tab: aren't your backglasses set to Exe-Mode? If so they will be handled like separate applications and you may switch between them. You may change the settings of the backglasses if you start them in VP and right-click on the BG... there you may choose settings.
  2. Did I missed it or didn't you describe WHAT the problem is...? :-)
  3. Try to hit <Alt>+<Tab> to find out where the backglass is hidden. Maybe you will find it that way and you may adjust your settings. Otherwise check again your B2S-Server Resolution Settings and your Settings in PinballX.
  4. You have to look what is the display numbering in windows. You have to use the same numbering in PinballX and in your backglass server.
  5. ähhhm: I think it's "FLV" instead of "F4V"...
  6. Hey there, I'm a little but confused... are you using the directB2S backglasses in PinballX or do you use Videos and Images. Both options are possible. 1. If you are using the B2S backglasses: there are some backglasses which show no animation. Therefore it may seem that it's an image. 2. If this happens while using videos: which file formats are you're using? I think only MP4 and F4V files are usable. 3. in both cases: please provide your PinballX.ini, your Log-file and the XML you're using... Kind regards, Jannek
  7. Hey there, an additional Information: it seems that the Problem isn´t the RAM. For testing puposes I´ve added temporarily 2 more GBs of RAM and that changed nothing (I think it got even more worse - I think because 4GBs are 1066MHz and 2GBs are 800MHz). Kind regards, Jannek
  8. I guess ratings will not work, because it´s out of range? Regarding the first table - there´s rating ="0" ...therefore it is zero stars. Therefore it is correct that nothing is shown in this case. Regarding the second tabel - there´s rating ="7.2" ...but the rating field is running from 0 to 5 (stars). Therefore I guess it´s not possible to give 7.2 stars. By the way: I´m not sure if you may use floating numbers such as "x.2". Regarding your logos: I´m not sure about this. First thing I would do is to check again the spelling and if there´s maybe an "L" less in the naming of your Williams-Logo-file. Kind regards, Jannek
  9. Hey Connorsdad, I don´t know if it is possible to do so and wether this will work. Sorry, but I even don´t know a "non-Steam" Version of PBFX2. Maybe you ask over at the official ZEN Studios Forum regarding this update-issue. I´m sure BarbieBobomb will help if it is possible: http://forum.zenstudios.com/forum.php Kind regards, Jannek
  10. Hello everybody, because I was asked, if I may do a small step-by-step guide on "how to Setup Pinball FX2" (STEAM VERSION), I did it. This is about: - how to start table directly via parameter - how to move the DMD of Pinball FX2 to another screen - how to remove the ugly border and - how to use Images and Videos for PFX2 in PinballX It´s just a simple guide, but maybe helpful for somebody. First I did this just in German, but later on I was asked if I may translate it as soon as possible to English. So, I was a little bit in a hurry - please don´t mind if it isn´t translated perfectly... This is just a first DRAFT-Version... maybe there will be corrections and minor changes in future. Kind regards, Jannek42 PFX2 in PBX_Ver0.9_ENG.zip PFX2 in PBX_Ver0.9_GER.zip
  11. 1. Why don´t you use the integrated "Pinball FX2" System? ...but instead you´re usinf "System 1"? 2. Are you sure that you´re using the correct XML-File? Your *.ini shows that PinballX is loading "Pinball FX2"-database and also "PinballFX2"-database. ...be sure not to use the wrong one. 3. Maybe you try to set it up as I tried to describe in the Guide - It sounds like this helped some People: http://www.vpforums.org/index.php?showtopic=31994#entry315841 4. Somebody wrote that the non-steam version won´t be updated at the same time as the steam-version. So maybe there is no Support for directly starting the tables via Parameters right now? I don´t know... Kind regards, Jannek
  12. you may look here: http://www.vpforums.org/index.php?showtopic=31994#entry315815 This may help you. At the end of the of the thread you will find exactly the same question... Kind regards, Jannek
  13. Hello everybody, does somebody know what are the requirements of PinballX? ...and maybe also the requirements of PinballXLite? I´m asking because I have an issue which has been tracked down to the hardware, but I don´t know exactly which component. I´ve issued this topic already in another thread and "mace" gave his best to help, but now I´ve heard in another Forum (flippermarkt.de) that another guy has identical problems and therefore I would like to summarize the topic: - some days ago I´ve installed DOF (I´m using a PinControl1 with a connected RGB-Strip). - most tables are working fine and even DOF is working - but there are few tables which show me an error "C:\...\.directb2s" cannot be found..." on launching the table (in this case the table starts, DOF starts, DMD starts, just the Backglass remains black) By the way: the table isn´t named in this error message! It only says "\.directb2s" cannot be found! Maybe the name of the table won´t correctly be forwarded?! This is only if I start the table out of PinballX (after I installed DOF - previously they all worked fine!). If I start the tables directly out of Visual Pinball they also work fine without any error. I will attach a screenshot of my error-message, my DOF-Settings and my PinballX-Settings. - the used backglasses are *.directb2s files. Names are exactly the same (If I start the tables directly out of Visual Pinball everything works perfect with current settings). - before I´ve installed DOF everything was working fine. - if I start my tables directly out of VP9.9.0 or VP(PM5) everything works fine: -> Backglass will be loaded, DOF starts, no problems - if I start my tables out of PinballX (that´s what I used to do): I get an error message (as stated before) -> DOF starts, Backglass Monitor gets dark, Playfield will be shown with mentioned error - This happens only with following tables: a ) Indiana Jones VP920 MOD 2.0 FS (ij_l7) b ) Indiana Jones MOD 2.5 FS PHYSMOD5_NM (ij_l7) c ) STTNG_VP990_HD_GI_MOD_1.3_Physmod_FOM (sttng_x7) d ) Jurassic Park (Data East 1993) UW_LW_dark-Javier_PM5_1.1 (jupk_513) - those mentioned tables are not all the same VP-Version. The error happens with VP9.9.0 as well as PM5 - I´ve already tried to rename one of my tables to a little easier naming "NightMod.vpt" and "NightMod.directb2s", but this changed nothing. - I´ve also tried to use a backglass, which is working fine on another table. But this changes also nothing and will end up in an error message exactly the same way as before with the other BG. - Taking out the error selection via the Directb2s menu This helps to prevent the interupting error message. Table starts and is playable but indeed without the Backglass (so it´s only half way through...). - Then I tried to use different ROM-files (which changed nothing) ...but by accident I found out that if I load the table in VP (I´ve NOT started it - just loaded), then I start PinballX and launch one of those tables: everything works perfect. - It seems to be a Timing issue at any stage, but I don´t know in which Programm/Software/script. - I found out that if I decrease Graphics Settings in VP, I get STTNG and Jurassic Park running in PinballX. Seems to be that VP + B2S + PinballX needs too much memory... Still I don't know exactly what the problem is: RAM, GraphicsRAM, CPU... My System: CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 955 Processor (4x 3200 MHz) RAM: 4 GB (DDR2-1066 Kit) GPU: MSI - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 - 2 GB OS: Windows 7 - 64bit Another user´s system with identical issue: CPU: AMD Athlon II X4 640 4 x 3 GHz RAM: 4 GB RAM 666 MHz GPU: AMD Radeon 6670 512MB OS: Windows 7 - 64bit Maybe some of you know the requirements or have another idea. Many thanks in advance! Kind regards, Jannek DOF.zip PinballX.zip
  14. Hey Mace, I found out that if I decrease Graphics Settings in VP, I get STTNG and Jurassic Park running in PinballX. Seems to be that VP + B2S + PinballX needs too much memory... Still I don't know exactly what the problem is: RAM, GraphicsRAM, CPU... Ohh, and I got Indiana Jones running when I just start it in VP921 instead of VP990. Only table I'm still not successful with is Indiana Jones PhysMod. Kind regards, Jannek
  15. Hey mace, thanks for your replys. 1. Taking out the error selection This helps to prevent the interupting error message. Table starts and is playable but indeed without the Backglass. (so it´s only half way through...) 2. New finding Yesterday I tried to use different ROM-files (which changed nothing)... but by accident I found out that if I load the table in VP (I´ve NOT started it - just loaded), then I start PinballX and launch one of those tables: everything works perfect. It seems to be a Timing issue at any stage, but I don´t know in which Programm/Software/script. Currently I´m thinking about a batch-file which will load those tables into VP and to include that batch-file as a "Launch before"-Batch. Maybe this could help (but loading times will be doubled regarding those tables ). Kind regards, Jannek
  16. Hey mace, thanks for your reply. I´ve jumped into your topic as it sounded a little bit the same like mine... :-) Here are some more details: - before I´ve installed DOF everything was working fine. - if I start my tables directly out of VP9.9.0 or VP(PM5) everything works fine: -> Backglass will be loaded, DOF starts, no problems - if I start my tables out of PinballX (that´s what I used to do): I get an error message (as stated before) -> DOF starts (only sometimes), Backglass Monitor gets dark, Playfield will be shown with mentioned error This happens only with following tables: - Indiana Jones VP920 MOD 2.0 FS (ij_l7) - Indiana Jones MOD 2.5 FS PHYSMOD5_NM (ij_l7) - STTNG_VP990_HD_GI_MOD_1.3_Physmod_FOM (sttng_x7) - Jurassic Park (Data East 1993) UW_LW_dark-Javier_PM5_1.1 (jupk_513) So, it´s not always the same VP-Version. I´ve already tried to rename my files to a little easier naming "NightMod.vpt" and "NightMod.directb2s", but this changed nothing. I´ve also tried to use a backglass, which is working fine on another table, but this one will crash exactly the same way on the mentioned tables. Kind regards, Jannek
  17. Hey mace, the used backglasses are *.directb2s files. Names are exact the same (If I start the tables directly out of Visual Pinball everything works perfect). Regarding your second tipp: this is just to avoid the error-prompt, isn´t it? This will not help me to get the backglass itself running, will it? But I will check this option as well. Thanks so far. Kind regards, Jannek
  18. Hello, did I get you right that this isn´t solved then?! Because I´ve got a compareable issue: - two days ago I´ve installed DOF (I´m using a PinControl1 with a connected RGB-Strip). - most tables are working fine and even DOF is working - but there are few tables which show me an error "C:\...\.directb2s" connot be found..." This is only if I start the table out of PinballX (after I installed DOF - previously they worked fine!). If I start the tables directly out of Visual Pinball they also work fine without any error. I will attach a screenshot of my error-message, my DOF-Settings and my PinballX-Settings. Maybe somebody has a good idea. And many thanks in advance! Kind regards, Jannek DOF.zip PinballX.zip
  19. Hello everybody, some time ago I´ve written a guide on how to setup PinballFX2 in PinballX. So, if anybody is interested, you will find it here: http://www.vpforums.org/index.php?showtopic=31994&hl= Kind regards, Jannek
  20. Hey Draco, you did an amazing Job. The wheels are soo fantastic! Thanks!! Kind regards, Jannek
  21. You're welcome!
  22. Hey Tom, Draco, Carny, thanks to all of you. The patched EXE works pretty fine!! Everything is perfect now. Many, many thanks for your support and your discussions. Kind regards, Jannek
  23. Ok, thanks for your reply. I will have a closer look at your script. Thank you. Maybe I will think about the option of turning off the sound of the playfields... would make the setup easier (if I look for prepared videos). But on the other side: if you're also capturing the audio, maybe it's another idea to capture my own videos. That would also match my table more exact. Again: thanks for your suggestion!
  24. Hello, I´m not sure what´s the best way (or maybe just my preferred settings) to include playfield previews in Pinballx . Therefore I would like to know how you handle your playfield previews. 1. What kind of media do you prefer (Images / Videos)? ...and why? (e.g. performance, optics, storage...) 2. If you use Videos: 2.1 Do you use Videos with integrated Sound? 2.2 Do you use Videos without Sound? 3. Do you integrate Sound to your "Images" / "Videos without sounds" via separated Audio files? I´m asking, because normally I would prefer to use Videos with included Audio. But there are table where such files are not available. So I went for the solution to add just for those Videos separated Audio files. But I´ve encountered that if PinballX is starting at a table where I did so, the Opening Audio file of PinballX will be delayed until the separated Audio file of that specific table has ended or until I switch to another table with integrated Audio. (I think if the Video uses integrated Audio the different Audio files may be overlayed while different separated Audio files can´t). But on the other side I´ve encountered another effect: While for Videos with integrated Sound the Sound stops as soon as I start one of those tables... Those tables with separated Sound files play their Sound even during the Loading Screen of PinballX. So currently I´m not really sure what is my preferred solution (and I don´t like mixing solutions anyway)... How do you do your setup regarding the preview Videos? Many thanks in advance for your suggestions! Kind regards, Jannek
  25. Ok, sounds great. To have a reproduceable issue is a first step to get rid of this in furure! :-)
