  1. Nope, that didn't work. Still nothing but a black screen and silence. I don't see why DAEMON tools would be needed since Fusion loads .bin files like it does roms. There's no need for a virtual drive. Anyone else have any ideas? I can't think of anything.
  2. Ok, I have two questions I hope someone can help me with: 1) How do you set the custom background for MAME in the Valhalla theme? I have set the custom backgrounds for NES, SNES, Genesis, etc. to where it shows Mario, Crono, and Sonic for each page. All you do is go to each system's page in the Advanced Configuration and scroll down the list at the custom background option. However, there is no such thing that I've found for MAME. I've seen a picture where Scorpion is shown for the MAME page, as shown here: http://www.gameex.info/forums/index.php?ac...ost&id=1018 . How do I get it to show this image? 2) I'm trying to get Fusion to work with GameEX so I can play Sega CD games. I have gotten it to work perfectly fine outside of GameEX, but when I try it with GX, all I get is silence and a black screen. I loaded the Fusion .ini, set the filter for *.bin, since all my files are bin/cue. Any idea what I'm doing wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  3. I recently decided to give the Arcade-Classic theme a try. Overall it's a pretty cool theme, but for some reason it isn't displaying the marquees in the marquee area on the machine. The videos play right, but the marquees aren't showing up. This theme is available for Mamewah and it displays the marquee of the selected game, as shown here with Double Dragon: http://localarcade.com/screenshotarchive/i...in_fullsize.jpg . Is there anyway to get it to do this in the GameEX version of the theme?
  4. Well, I went out a bought an extension for the RCA plug but it didn't help at all. The cursor still goes all over the place no matter how I configure it. I've tried WinGun and GunCon2 and gone through both calibration processes and neither work. In WinGun, I wave the gun from left to right to left, then along the red lines on the sides and top and bottom of the screen, yet the cursor is going haywire the whole time. Talk about a waste of time. Oh well....
  5. I've found the problem by looking at that site. I have no way of hooking the yellow cable to my TV, which I don't see how anyone could unless they bought a 6 foot RCA extender or something. There's less than a foot length between the USB end and RCA end. I don't see how you could hook one end to a PC and the other to the monitor. Am I missing something here, because it just doesn't seem feasible to hook the GunCon to two seperate machines given the length of the cable.
  6. Well, I went ahead and bought a GunCon2 used for 8 bucks at GameStop. I downloaded the WinGun driver for XP, but I can't get the gun calibrated right. It registers when I press the buttons, but the cursor just goes all over the place. I've tried calibrating it several times and it just will not move right at all. Iguess this is the rolling X problem I've read about. I can't seem to find a fix for it though. Plus, when I go into the MAME options I can't even check enable lightgun because it is grayed out. I don't know if it's my TV or what. Any suggestions? I would do a search over at arcadecontrols but they still haven't approved my membership.
  7. Here's the TV that I have: http://reviews.cnet.com/projection-tvs/hit...7-31975738.html It's a CRT projection, not an LCD or plasma. What I'd like to do is just get some PS2 light guns that have USB connectivity. I'd rather not have to use the little Wii-like bands on the TV.
  8. I'm looking to get 2 light guns for my HTPC gaming system. There doesn't seem to be much available as far as PC guns go. I don't really care for the look of the Act Labs guns. Would I be better off just getting 2 Namco PS2 guns and using PS2 to USB adapters? Any recommendations? I only need about a 6 or 7 foot wire. Also, I have a 51 inch CRT projection screen and I have read that most light guns do not work on plasma and LCD screens. Does anyone know if it they will work on a CRT projection TV? Any info would be great.
  9. Thanks. I was using an older version of ZSNES and unchecking the boxes did nothing. I updated to the latest version and it no longer shows the rominfo. Thanks again
  10. When I load a game in ZSNES, at the bottom of the screen it always shows the file size and various things about it in white text for a few seconds before going away. It's a bit annoying. I've gone into the GUI and unchecked where it says show rom info but that didn't work. Any suggestions?
  11. Yep, I have my HTPC set up as my all-purpose gaming/music/movie machine. I have no keyboard or mouse hooked up. Everything is controlled through my PS2 controller, hooked up with a SuperJoyBox adapter. It will take some time and effort to get it all set up, but it is worth it.
  12. GameEX is an incredible program, easily the most amazing entertainment program I've ever seen. Having every game, movie, and song all available through one program is a dream come true. Thanks Tom!!!

  13. Thanks to Brian Hoffman, I finally have Vivanonno running good with GameEX. He created some great little files to make it all work. I've attached those files so that they're available to anyone who may need them. Thanks again, Brian. vivanonno_files.zip
  14. Nologic, thanks, but you obviously know a lot more about this stuff than I do. All that is way over my head. If Brian can't get the thing he made to work for me, I'll just have to wait until the MAME code is better optimized or something.
  15. I couldn't find any hot keys for Vivanonno that pertain to the menus and loading the games. I looked in the readme file and tried pressing alt+f, shift+f, and a bunch of other things. Sorry I can't be of more help. Thanks again for your efforts.
  16. It does the same thing with and without Gameex running. Vivanonno opens, then the cursor arrow automatically moves below the file option then sits there and does nothing. I have to manually move the arrow up to click file, then select load game, and then it automatically goes down the list to the game and starts. Sorry about the hassle. It's almost there though.
  17. Brian, it's almost there. The only problem is that when I go to load one of the games, after the Vivanonno emu opens up it still requires me to use the mouse to click file and load game. After I do that, it automatically selects whichever game I had wanted and boots it. Is there any way to make it select file>load game>rave racer(world automatically, without having to manually click anything? Thanks again for your help.
  18. So, any luck making an config for Vivanonno? I haven't been able to get it to work. It's a shame that no work has been done on the emu for 3 or so years. Ridge Racer and Rave Racer are two of my favorite arcade racing games, so I was really excited when this emu came out.
  19. Unfortunately, it doesn't support the mame set. I tried but it wouldn't work. The dumps aren't the same.
  20. Is there a config file for the Vivanonno emulator available? I mainly want to play Rave Racer and Ridge Racer but I couldn't get the emu to work through GameEX. I used the search bar but couldn't find anything.
  21. I'm getting ready to get a newer cpu for my HTPC and I'm wanting to get games in MAME like Rave Racer, Ridge Racer, NFL Blitz, etc. to run full speed. Does anyone have those running full speed on their PC, or is are the drivers not optimized enough in MAME? If any does, what cpu would you recommend, preferably Intel? If I remember correctly, speed in MAME goes more by your cpu power than your video card. Any info would be great.
  22. Thanks, that worked great. The only thing is I have to go back and re-tag half my songs because a lot of them are from greatest hits albums, which is what I tagged them as. So, when I click on something like Journey's greatest hits, ALL the songs from all the greatest hits albums are listed. So, I'll have to go back and change the album name to Journey - Greatest Hits so that it can tell the difference.
  23. Ok, initially I just put all my mp3s into the appropriate folder for GameEX and they showed up fine. However, they were all mixed together and unorganized. I decided to take a huge amount of time to organize them and re-tag them. I created a new folder for each album, put a .jpeg in each of the album cover and named it folder.jpg. After all that, now when I load the mp3s up in GameEX, they're still all unorganized and showing info that isn't in the mp3s anymore. Is there some kind of .ini or config file I need to delete for GameEX to re-search the mp3s? I've edited the id tags for every mp3 I have, so I don't know what else to do now.
  24. Great update, Tom. It appears to have fixed all my video problems. I have to say, now that I've registered GameEX and have full use of all the features, my HTPC has become better than I ever imagined. It's awesome to be able to play all my games and videos on my big screen TV and do it from the comfort of my couch. No mouse, no keyboard, I can just control it all with my gamepad. Thanks again for the awesome program!
  25. Well, I just updated to the latest version of GameEX that Tom just released and the videos are working great now, including the OGM files now. All I needed to do was install an OGM codec. Thanks for the great work, Tom. It would still be nice if there were a way to replace the folder icon with a picture of what each folder contained when you go down the list of videos in the multimedia section. Like I said before, a picture of the Seinfeld crew for the Seinfeld folder, a picture of the Transfomers for the Transformers folder, etc. Is there a way to do this?
