  1. With a game like Metal Gear Solid, where it doesn't save before you switch disks, what would you recommend?
  2. I made my Fusion.ini file read only and that appears to have fixed the problem. That is, until some other weird thing pops up out of the blue. Thanks again for your help.
  3. Yes, It's in there.
  4. I tried using the configFile=[Mapping Off] Exit (Process Close) and it didn't help. Also, it does say Command=Fusion.exe -scd -fullscreen but that doesn't help either. I can't switch it over to Gens because I simply cannot get it to detect any CD drives at all. It will not recognize my real DVD drive, much less a virtual drive. I've tried configuring both Gens and Gens32 Surreal and neither will detect a drive.
  5. Got another problem. Fusion uses the ESC key to switch between fullscreen and windowed mode. I use the ESC key to exit all my emulators to get back to GameEX. When using Fusion for my Sega CD games, when I hit ESC to get back to GameEX, it switches to windowed mode as it's closing. So, when I try to play another Sega CD game, all I get is black screen and music because it is in windowed mode. So, when I exit and then go back to play the game again, it is back to full screen because I hit ESC to exit. Basically, ESC is doing two things at once and it's messing things up. Any suggestions? I really don't want to have to switch to another emulator.
  6. Here's the dat file for my set. I still have the old Vivanonno set, which is 38.7 megs. The new set is 42 megs. It appears that there was a redump of the games or something. Like I said, this new set was rebuilt from the MAME dump so it's not the same as the old. Now all the games in the Vivanonno work and the textures are much better. There are still some emulation issues though, but it's a lot better than before. Viva_Nonno_v22.0.3.rar
  7. Sorry but I'm not trying to get banned from this forum for linking to roms or anything. They are out there if you know where to look. Sorry.
  8. There is actually a rebuilt set of Vivanonno files that were made using the Mame dumps, so now all the games listed for Vivanonno work. Plus, the textures look a lot better now.
  9. I just checked and I'm actually using a somewhat old version of GameEX, 8.77, so perhaps you've already fixed it. There were two spots that I noticed the change. In my TurbografxCD config, the line LaunchBefore=""C:\DAEMON Tools\daemon.exe" -mount 0,"[RomPath]\[RomFile]"" was missing the " at the beginning. In my SegaCD config, I have "[RomPath]\[RomFile]" in Launch Before= to play .bat files. The " were missing from the beginning and end. Also, it was the Setup Wizard that I suspect changed things.
  10. I just came across something weird and I thought I'd mention it in case it hadn't been noticed. When using the Setup Wizard to change the listing of emulators so that all the Nintendo, Sega, etc. would be grouped together, I discovered afterwards that a couple of emulators didn't work. Going into the Advanced Configuration and looking at everything, I noticed that the " were missing in several places in some of the emulator configurations. I know for certain that I didn't change them. After putting them back, the emulators worked fine. I'm 99% certain it was once I rearranged my list that this happened. I didn't see a thread for bugs, and perhaps this has already been fixed, but I just thought I'd bring to everyone's attention.
  11. If you just want it to startup when Windows boots without shelling, try this: To add Windows Task Manager (or any program) to your Startup folder (that will make it work each time you start the windows and you will see it in the system tray), please follow the below instructions: 1. Click Start>Programs, then right click on Startup folder and choose Open. 2. On the Startup window, go to File menu and choose New>Shortcut. 3. In the dialog box click the Browse button to specify the Task Manager program, it's by default at C:\windows\system32\taskmgr.exe (Where C is the partition that your windows XP is installed on). 4. After specifying the program path, click next and finish. Then you will see a new shortcut (computer icon) in the Startup folder. 5. Right click on that shortcut and choose Properties, select Minimized from the Run combo box, and click Ok, then close the Startup folder. 6. At the next time you start your computer the program will run automatically and you will see it in the system tray.
  12. I finally got it to work. I went into the PCE.ini and put a 1 where it says "drive=" and e: where it says "drive letter=". Thanks again for your help.
  13. I don't know why it had PCGame=True. That was there when I loaded the config. Turning that off did fix the autoloading from the meny. As for the PCE ini, I've tried about every combination I can think of. In Daemon Tools I have the e: drive, which is listed as virtual drive 0, as the one I mount my images on. In the PCE.ini, there are two things for the CDrom, drive 1 and 2, and drives d: and e:. I've tried setting both drive 1 and 2 as default. I've tried changing the numbers to 0 and 1. I can't think of anything else. Sorry for being such a hassle. Any suggestions?
  14. I still can't get it to work. Here's my current configuration: [Emulator_16] Enabled=True STARTPAGENAME=NEC TurboGrafx CD TITLETEXT=NEC TurboGrafx CD StartPageLogo=[Console] NEC TurboGrafx CD ROMFilter=*.cue RomPath=C:\Emulators\TurbografxCD\Akumajou_Dracula_X_-_Chi_no_Rinne_(NTSC-J)_[KMCD3005] SnapPath= TitlePath= BoxPath= CartPath= ManualPath= WorkingPath=C:\Emulators\TurbografxCD MapKeys=True WaitBeforeKeys= SendKeys= ReplaceDash=False ReplaceUnder=False Capitals=False RemoveBrackets=False ShowDesktop=False Debug=False MAPFile= AlsoLaunch= Command=pce.exe "c:\emulators\TurbografxCD\syscard3.pce" OLDatZip= LaunchBefore=""C:\Program Files\DAEMON Tools\daemon.exe" -mount 1,"[RomPath]\[RomFile]"" LaunchAfter="C:\Program Files\DAEMON Tools\daemon.exe" -unmount 1 configFile= ExcludedFiles= CustomBackground= PlayMusic=False DontShowInfo=True PCGame=True DATABASE= GamesIn7Zips=False PlayInScreenSaver=False ShowMostPlayed=False RandomMostPlayed=False CDCheck=False CDCheckFile= [GENERAL] DumbyValue= For some reason, when I go to the TurbografxCD listing on the GameEX menu it automatically starts loading the game without me even going down the list and selecting the game. Then, when it loads it goes black for about 10 seconds and the PC Engine System Card start screen comes on. I press start and then it goes freezes for about 20 seconds and then goes to the music player. It's as though the emulator isn't seeing the CD at all. Like I said before, when I manually mount the image, Magic Engine detects it and it plays perfectly. Any suggestions?
  15. As long as it works, that's all that matters to me. Now, do you think you could help me with the Turbografx CD? I couldn't get batch files to work with it, so I tried using Daemon Tools. It works outside of GameEx when I mount the cue and use Magic Engine and click on the virtual drive letter. However, when I try to get it to work in GameEX, the Magic Engine loading screen comes up, but no game. I also seem to be getting a Daemon Tools unmount syntax error. I went through that tutorial you linked to and tried to Launch Also and some other stuff but nothing worked. Here's my configuration: [Emulator_16] Enabled=True STARTPAGENAME=NEC TurboGrafx CD TITLETEXT=NEC TurboGrafx CD StartPageLogo=[Console] NEC TurboGrafx CD ROMFilter=*.cue RomPath=C:\Emulators\TurbografxCD\Akumajou_Dracula_X_-_Chi_no_Rinne_(NTSC-J)_[KMCD3005] SnapPath= TitlePath= BoxPath= CartPath= ManualPath= WorkingPath=C:\Emulators\TurbografxCD MapKeys=True WaitBeforeKeys= SendKeys= ReplaceDash=False ReplaceUnder=False Capitals=False RemoveBrackets=False ShowDesktop=False Debug=False MAPFile= AlsoLaunch= Command=pce.exe "syscard3.pce" OLDatZip= LaunchBefore=""C:\DAEMON Tools\daemon.exe" -mount 0,"[RomPath]\[RomFile]"" LaunchAfter=""C:\DAEMON Tools\daemon.exe" -unmount 0"" configFile= ExcludedFiles= CustomBackground= PlayMusic=False DontShowInfo=True PCGame=True DATABASE= GamesIn7Zips=False PlayInScreenSaver=False ShowMostPlayed=False RandomMostPlayed=False CDCheck=False CDCheckFile= [GENERAL] DumbyValue= Any suggestions?
  16. Nologic, thanks tremendously for your help. Putting the "[ROMPath]\[RomFile]" in Launch Before= fixed the problem. I was on the verge of breaking something.
  17. Well, I've had a hell of a time getting the rips I have to play right, and the only ways I've figured out to get them to work right are to either mount them with Daemon Tools or to make a .bat file for them. Unfortunately, I can't get either to work with GameEX. I tried using the mount-unmount commands listed in the Fusion config but of course, it didn't work. So, I tried not using Daemon Tools and just making the filter .bat files and it loads the emu but says there is no disc. It's amazing. I click the .bat file outside of GameEX and it loads fine. I click on it in GameEX and it doesn't work. Here's my config for bat files. Please take a look and see if you can spot anything wrong: [Emulator_15] Enabled=True STARTPAGENAME=Sega CD TITLETEXT=Sega CD StartPageLogo=SegaCD ROMFilter=*.bat RomPath=C:\Emulators\SegaCD\BAT Files SnapPath= TitlePath= BoxPath= CartPath= ManualPath= WorkingPath=C:\Emulators\SegaCD MapKeys=True WaitBeforeKeys= SendKeys= ReplaceDash=True ReplaceUnder=True Capitals=True RemoveBrackets=True ShowDesktop=False Debug=False MAPFile= AlsoLaunch= Command=Fusion.exe -scd -fullscreen "[ROMPath]\[RomFile]" OLDatZip= LaunchBefore= LaunchAfter= configFile= ExcludedFiles= CustomBackground=segacdbak.png PlayMusic= DontShowInfo= PCGame= DATABASE=SEGACD GamesIn7Zips= PlayInScreenSaver= ShowMostPlayed= RandomMostPlayed= CDCheck= CDCheckFile= [GENERAL] DumbyValue=
  18. Ok, I finally got it to work using Fusion and mounting the image using Daemon Tools. I've also got my PC Engine games to work using the same technique. I simply couldn't get the bin/cue to work, so I'm using iso/wav. The audio seems to be a second or two out of sync though. Now if I can just get a working GameEX config for both using Daemon Tools, I'll be set. I really want to play Snatcher through. I've recently become a big Blade Runner fan, and Snatcher is clearly ripped off of it, at least in part. Looks like I may have it finally. I'm making .bat files for all my games and then I'll set the filters to .bat and see how it goes.
  19. I've tried about 10 different rips and NONE of them will work. I've made 6 or 7 different rips of Snatcher myself using Alcohol 120%, CDRwin, and Isobuster, using tutorials from different sites and they simply will not work right. I've gotten 3 different rips of Snatcher from various sources and none work. I've mounted the images with Daemon Tools and everything else I can think of. The actual CD works fine, sound and all, but none of these freakin rips work. It's the same exact errors every single time. I tried using the Sega Cue Maker and no luck. I can't believe how much trouble I'm having with this. Here's are a couple of tutorials that I've used and followed exactly, yet no success: http://www.segacd.org/rip-bin.html and http://www.racketboy.com/guides/ripping-bin-cue.htm I've tried both Sega CD and Turbo CD games and NONE work. Any other suggestions?
  20. Now that I have the Sega CD running alright, I'm having problems with some of the games. I'm trying to play Snatcher, Sonic CD, and Final Fight CD and none of them run right. For some reason, Snatcher doesn't play any of the music and it doesn't play the intro. Sonic CD doesn't play any of the music at all. Final Fight CD goes to the Sega CD music player, then when I press start the Capcom info comes up and it freezes. I have two rips, one that's bin/cue and the other that is iso/wav. The iso/wav rip I got from a reputable site and is supposed to be TOSEC. Both games do the same thing in both Fusion and Gens32 surreal. Any ideas or suggestions?
  21. Brian helped me out. I actually did have a spacing error in my config settings for Gens32, which Brian quickly noticed. After a few little clicks, he had it all working for me. Now he's working on getting Magic Engine to run bin/cue files for me, which seems to be a bit more difficult. He's good at this stuff though, much better than I am. Thanks again, Brian.
  22. Ok, this is getting ridiculous. I downloaded Gens32 surreal and got my bin/cue games to work perfect outside of GameEX. However, in GameEX all it does is go black for a second then come back to GX. I used the same exact configuration you have listed here except I put romfilter as .cue, and then as .bin yet neither worked. I know you use iso/mp3 format, so I thought maybe that was the problem so I ripped one of my CDs as an ISO and it still didn't work. One thing I noticed that was weird in your configuration is the line "configFile=nes". What does that mean? By the way, I did have the latest version of Fusion, 3.51, and it didn't work for me.
  23. No, I have all the bin and cue files together in one folder. Should I seperate them into individual folders or something? I tried turning the show desktop option on to see what happens. Fusion loads, then the window goes white and Fusion gets stuck. I'm at my wits end here.
  24. Your configuration appears to be the same as what I was originally using. I went ahead and changed everything to be the same as what you've posted and nothing changed. Is there something I need to do with Fusion perhaps, like change something in the fusion.ini? Here's my updated, no-working .ini: [Emulator_15] Enabled=True STARTPAGENAME=Sega CD TITLETEXT=Sega CD StartPageLogo=segacd ROMFilter=*.cue RomPath=C:\Emulators\Sega CD\Sega CD ISO files SnapPath= TitlePath= BoxPath= CartPath= ManualPath= WorkingPath=C:\Emulators\Sega CD MapKeys=True WaitBeforeKeys= SendKeys= ReplaceDash=True ReplaceUnder=True Capitals=True RemoveBrackets=True ShowDesktop=False Debug=False MAPFile= AlsoLaunch= Command=Fusion.exe -scd -fullscreen "[ROMPath]\[RomFile]" OLDatZip= LaunchBefore= LaunchAfter= configFile= ExcludedFiles= CustomBackground= PlayMusic= DontShowInfo= PCGame= DATABASE=SEGACD GamesIn7Zips= PlayInScreenSaver= ShowMostPlayed= RandomMostPlayed= CDCheck= CDCheckFile= [GENERAL] DumbyValue=
  25. Yes, I have the bios files. I can get the games to run fine outside of GameEX. For some reason, I simply cannot get Sega CD or Turbografx CD games in bin/cue format to work with GameEX at all. I have Daemon tools and have tried using the configuration files from this forum but I've had no success. Here are my .ini files: Sega CD: [Emulator_15] Enabled=True STARTPAGENAME=Sega CD TITLETEXT=Sega CD StartPageLogo=segacd ROMFilter=*.cue RomPath=C:\Emulators\Sega CD\Sega CD ISO files SnapPath= TitlePath= BoxPath= CartPath= ManualPath= WorkingPath=C:\Emulators\Sega CD MapKeys=True WaitBeforeKeys= SendKeys= ReplaceDash=False ReplaceUnder=True Capitals=False RemoveBrackets=True ShowDesktop=False Debug=False MAPFile= AlsoLaunch= Command=Fusion.exe -scd -fullscreen "[ROMPath]\[RomFile]" OLDatZip= LaunchBefore=C:\Program Files\DAEMON Tools\daemon.exe" -mount 0,"[RomPath]\[RomFile] LaunchAfter="C:\Program Files\DAEMON Tools\daemon.exe" -unmount 0 configFile=[Mapping Off] Exit (Process Close) ExcludedFiles= CustomBackground=segacdbak.png PlayMusic=False DontShowInfo= PCGame=False DATABASE=[Console] Sega CD GamesIn7Zips=False PlayInScreenSaver=False ShowMostPlayed=True RandomMostPlayed=False CDCheck=False CDCheckFile= Turbografx CD: [Emulator_16] Enabled=True STARTPAGENAME=NEC TurboGrafx CD TITLETEXT=NEC TurboGrafx CD StartPageLogo=[Console] NEC TurboGrafx CD ROMFilter=*.cue RomPath=C:\Emulators\TGCD\ISO files SnapPath= TitlePath= BoxPath= CartPath= ManualPath= WorkingPath=C:\Emulators\TGCD MapKeys=True WaitBeforeKeys= SendKeys= ReplaceDash=False ReplaceUnder=False Capitals=False RemoveBrackets=False ShowDesktop=False Debug=False MAPFile= AlsoLaunch= Command=pce.exe "C:\Emulators\TGCD\syscard3.pce" OLDatZip= LaunchBefore=C:\Program Files\DAEMON Tools\daemon.exe" -mount 0,"[RomPath]\[RomFile] LaunchAfter="C:\Program Files\DAEMON Tools\daemon.exe" -unmount 0 configFile=[Mapping Off] Exit (Process Close) ExcludedFiles= CustomBackground=turbografxbak.png PlayMusic=False DontShowInfo=True PCGame=True DATABASE= GamesIn7Zips=False PlayInScreenSaver=False ShowMostPlayed=False RandomMostPlayed=False CDCheck=False CDCheckFile= [GENERAL] DumbyValue= Any help would be greatly appeciated because I'm about to pull my hair out. With the Turbo CD, I used a work around where I used .ini files for each game that would load when I put the actual CD in, but now I just want to use bin/cue so I don't have to load the CDs.
