  1. I will be Paulie, score wise for this one...
  2. That last one was my best ever, by far.
  3. Muwahahahahahahaha! This will be tough to beat!! 207,820 Round 14
  4. The 11th gives you a chance to score big on the Grey Blocks. The Greys start at 50 points on Round 1 and increase by 50 points every board thereafter. Therefore, on Round 11, they are worth 550 points a piece! MO
  5. Oh man, I was on fire!! I made it to the 12th Round. A little distance from 2nd is always nice. 171,990 MO
  6. Nice job, patfx!
  7. Let's see what you got, kid!!
  8. Slow, but steady progress. That is a good thing on Defender. MO
  9. Hey, heeeyyyyyy.......Smoke weed........E'ery day!!!
  10. I think Maggie is almost ready to join our competition!!
  11. I had a pretty good run, but crumbled on the 4 the Pre-boss... 3,746,420 PS. 420, yeah baby!
  12. Steady progress, even if it's only jumping 10 k. This is fun to watch.
  13. Patrickfx muscling his way onto the boards! Nice!
  14. I would say that is legit, as long as it's your initials, which it is. Not a bad score. Yeah, Defender is a very well made game for its time; 1980. Very difficult to master. The challenge makes you come back to it. The gameplay is smooth, but will slow down with too much action going on the current screen. This would explain why sometimes when you smart bomb multiple Pods, the resultant Swarmers may appear elsewhere on the planet. They get 'hypered' off the screen. The reason Dr. J (Eugene Jarvis) did this was to minimize slowdowns. A big memory hog on Defender was the Bombers. Sometimes you can have 5 Bombers on the screen at a time! PS. Twin Galaxies clearly doesn't want anyone but the best of the best of the best. 5 lives; 5 smart bombs. Good frickin luck.
  15. 144,100 MAM I made it to the 15th Anthill. Oh yeah!
  16. OK Patrickfx, it's your turn to put up a score on this very difficult game. RTKIII should be showing up with a score soon. Hansolo, hopefully you get up on the boards too! MO
  17. I'd like to take credit, but you should be thanking Cynicaster. Anyway, down to business, guys. Wow. What a difference it makes when you only get 5 ships in total! I played about 6 games on the new setting and only managed 50k+ once. Setting 09 ---- 05 ships Setting 08 ---- 000000 (no free men) MAM 53,275
  18. Hey buddy!

I hope all is well!  Did you see the game of the month? Defender!  That game sold 55000 machines in a year for a reason!  We are playing TG Rules, which we usually do.  5 Men.

  19. For Sure. Active Han Solo Cynicaster Patrickfx RTKIII MO I'm cool with it. MO
  20. Man, I've been busy. I will try to get on the boards this week with a score.
  21. So yeah, map it anyway you want. This is one of the hardest games we have in our list of games. Give yourself a decent chance.
  22. That's a good score for the up and coming player, Matt. I am in the middle of reading that link you provided earlier. You're right, it's a great read. I advise you to not give up on this one. It's too rewarding when you get on a roll. Getting to 50 k will be a challenge for most on TG settings, so 34k isn't too bad. Hoping to get a good session of Defender in on Sunday. MO
  23. I am in agreement, I think you should take that score down. I will try to get a Defender version set up to Twin Galaxies standards that only allows 5 lives. Cyn has it step by step pretty good and it should be no problem to do. For the others that may find doing all that too daunting of a task, may I suggest that you just "count out" your deaths; you be the counter. That is what I did for the Yo's in 2015. MO
  24. I know, not everyone is retro. As for me, I'm 100% Retro. There's nothing else out there that holds a shred of value to me. None of em. I need my MAMe v122 with my two control panels and a laptop. Nuttin' else. Why do you think I have been around here consistently for 3 years? This site was Godsend. It revolves around over hundred wicked Retro gems! It's a blast putting scores up and competing. Hopefully some gamers can squeeze a game in here and there and get rolling again. As for MJ, damn right he's the King of Pop. He captivated people with his voice, moves, sounds, you name it. He was the Beatles of his time. MO
  25. We have a core group of guys, that is what is keeping this ship afloat. Just like anything, we go through slow times. It'll get better. MO
