  1. I like the concept. A little behind X, but the month is long. 245,600
  2. Yep, they ramped up the difficulty with this one, when you compare it to 1943. But put it next to Raiden and it's a joke. First shot and not the last, this is a fun one! The music, sound effects and gameplay are all very similar to another popular late eighties side scolling shooter from Capcom called Carrier Airwing. In fact, the sound it makes when you pelt the bosses with hundreds of shells is exactly the same. Another ripoff is apparent with those choppers that fly in groups. They are from the Vertical Shooter called Chopper I from SNK. The Second World War has seen a turn toward Team MO. For now. 850,600 MAM Version 0.122
  3. Ok, let's go for gusto. I would also like to nominate 1942!
  4. Whoops. Sorry. My mistake...
  5. 1941 Strikers 1945 Must haves IMO. MO
  6. Good job, Rich! Now, let's bring that 1941 action!! MO
  7. Ok, the clock is ticking. The mission: To take over first place and beat that pesky Exed Exes player. It's not going to be easy, but I'm gonna try!! Here we go!!
  8. Lol! Cmon Dazz! We miss you around here! Show me an effort, put up a score on this lovely shooter( when u get a chance, of course).:-|
  9. Gosh, I despise that rule about the credits. It makes absolutely no sense. ----> 80,000 -----> Credits - O M O
  10. S'Right. We believe in the honour System and it has kept us afloat for over 3 years now. That 2.8 mil run to get me ahead of KRC was up to Level 19. I am a big fan of this Ol classic. I enjoy the smooth gameplay, no cheap shots, fun attack moves, vivid colour for its time.
  11. This one is way tougher than Contra. Nevertheless, I made a little progress here: 62,600 Round 2 MO
  12. I never played it back in the day, so I can't tell if the lag is the same. I stand corrected.
  13. Oh man, I just revisited this one. MAN ITS GOT IT ALL!! 3 and a half mil coming up tonight....
  14. I concur, it lags big time. There is no way the arcade rom plays like these emulated ones from Mame.
  15. I read the spiel that Han wrote about submitting even if you think the score sucks. Well, I think this is not a good start, but in my defence I've yet to play this one. Little ripoffs from Contra pop up left and right, with the Boss on the 1st board being the most obvious I've seen thus far. Start me up, once you start me up, I'll never stop..... 47,200
  16. Hey guys! Agreed. This is a tough one. A submission is on its way!
  17. If you displayed the top ten list for your cabinet, what would it look like? Here's mine. Actually , I will include a tidbit for every game on the list. 1. Rygar. Hours and hours of play. This one had me from Rahhh!!Rahhh!! 2. DoDonPachi - So far, the best manic shooter that I have ever came across. Brilliant game with endless entertainment behind its flawless design. 3. Donkey Kong - Everyone knows about it, everyone plays it, very few are talented enough to master. The beat thing about DK is the randomness of the enemies. 4. Cyvern - A manic shooter with absolutely gorgeous graphics and smooth animation. I love how the projectiles come in not only so many different shapes and sizes, but also so many different speeds. It has it all this one. 5. Raiden - A revolutionary vertical shooter that was challenging everyone who tried it. Known to have an unfair "hitbox", the enemies get a shot at you even when you are maxed out on a weapon. The programmer just adds amount of hits to destroy to allow them to take a shot at you. 6. Ms. pacman - Hours and hours spent on this one at any venue you can think of: Roller Rinks, Ice Cream Parlour, Coffee Shop(s), Laundromat(s), etc. 7. Strikers 1945 - This one knocked my socks off right away. It contains an " all business" approach, wasting little time on animation and storyline and allows you to skip if you can't wait to get into the action. Nothing sucks about this one, nothing. 8. 1944 : The Loop Master - Oh boy. You take a ride on a learning curve with this one, what a blast this one can be. The music and sound effects are fantastic to say the least, all while keeping the gameplay really tough but not impossible . 9. Centipede - a chick helped make this one ma y years back. Many different strategies can be used. 10. Pacman (on here because my daughter loves it). Chime in if you have a minute, I would love to hear from the other gamers. M.O.
  18. Oh, I've seen Mame programs that will do the accounting on the credit used in all games. I'm not sure how to find it, but I know who would know: Cynicaster. Han, on your version of Mame, do you have a section of games called the "Most Played Games"? I use 0.122 and it has this option. I think my Machines Top 10 would look like this: 1. Rygar 2. DoDonPachi 3. Donkey Kong 4. Cyvern 5. Raiden 6. Ms. pacman 7. Strikers 1945 8. 1944 : The Loop Master 9. Centipede 10. Pacman (on here because my daughter loves it). If anyone else has time to share their own personal Top 10, I'd love to hear about it! M.O.
  19. Don't be so modest, Hansolo77. 400k is a good score on Raiden. This game will keep you on the edge through almost the entire journey! I could not walk by Raiden without playing it at the arcade. And i never just put one quarter in, I walked up to her with at least 8 quarters. Now with the opportunity to play on Mame, I have improved my skills immensely on Raiden. But my advances didn't come with quite a bit of playing time. M.O.
  20. Hey guys! I've been busy with the RL. But I see that Wolfman24 absolutely walloped everybody on Gekisou. Unreal. When I get a chance, I'm going to have a peek at his video.
  21. Hoping to ignite the shmuppers competitive fires on Raiden. I never even sank one shot into the fifth boss. I died right before I got to him. M.O.
  22. I had some Raiden for breakfast this morning. Needless to say, I got my fill. God Bless Saturday morning Classic Arcade Video Games! --779,860--
  23. Yes,ur right. I meant big hitbox!
  24. Raiden - Stands for Lightning/ Thunder in Japanese. This is one of the best vertical shooters ever created. It has insane difficulty, nice graphics, bloody boss battles, mini bosses everywhere. Oh, one more thing: it has a miniscule hitbox, which deems this game completely unfair and unforgiving at times. I will kick off my Raiden Rampage with this Average score: 531,160
