thanks brian, downloading d-fend now, problem is though dosbox is freezing on this game standalone, even without gameex but I will try this.

I just found my favorite dos game of all time willy beamish. I downloaded dosbox to play it.I have it installed to c:\dynamix I have the cd-rom mounted to Device 0 e:\ I am running c:\dynamix\willy.bat willy.bat contains the following @echo off E: willy C:\wcd\resource.cfg In dosbox I am doing the following command mount c c:\dynamix then willy.bat The game ran Once, perfect, I shut it down to change the rez on my monitor so it filled more of the screen, now when I run willy.bat dosbox just freezes immediately, I rebooted, same thing. Anyone with dos box experience have a guess why it would just stop working? This is my first time using this program. thanks!

Thanks I will update my gameex then. My next question is I am missing about 7 video snaps in one of my collections, I can't seem to make individual snaps, when I click a game the create snap disappears Only option I have is to create snaps for the entire library?

I would like to see a Mute video snaps option, I know I can just turn down the volume but I like the gameex menu sounds, just not the video snaps

It works perfect thanks! Is there a setting to shut off the volume for the previews and still have gameex's sound effects on.

I got a pack of video snaps for my consoles and mame, I can watch them on the cab in media player fine, When I open gameex, I can see the video box show up next to the game but its just black. When I move the stick to the next video I hear a quick glitch of sound from the video but it never shows up. If I can see them in windows I don't think its a codec issue, but it could be. Suggesstions? Also ideally I would like ot just have the videos show and no audio if thats a feature of gameex. Thanks

Couple questions, one, how much space does it take on your hard drive to make the video preview snaps for a game? Also so I dont have to go through and make my own is there a place I can download a pack of them? thanks

I run an arcade monitor in my cab, my whole gameex and emulators are set to 800x600 resolution, If an emulator uses something otherwise you have to adjust the V-HOLD on the monitor to play, which noone wants to do. FREEDO runs apparently at a default 640x480, Does anyone know if there is a command line option to force 800x600 rez for this emulator? UPDATE: I ended up just switching everything over to 640x480 so no need for help. thanks

Ok I got it, In my mame options command for gameex there was -triplebuffer -joy -nowindow , I didnt put those there but that was causing the problem, one of them.. thanks for your guys help!

Thank you for your help I did do it but it did not work. This has never happened with gameex before, I mean everythings perfect in MAME32, sound is perfect, Its very laggy in gameex. It plays every emulator ok except mame. Any other advice from anyone would be helpful thanks

I have run gameex/mame off this same pc fine before, but I just setup my new cab, If I run mame games play fine, if I run mame through gameex, the sound is choppy. Gameex sound effects are not just when running mame, its a Athlon 4000+ with 2gb ram. So it has the Horsepower. Any suggesstions?

I have an ipaq-4 which did this same problem to me and fixed itself automatically somehow, I have a JPAC I just hooked up a new cab everythings perfect all buttons perfect, I have a button for "enter" works fine in windows, works fine in gameex, all I want it for is when I push TAB in MAME to hit ENTER so I can change controls, it will not work in MAME, in or out of gameex. Question 1: Why? Question 2: using mame32 can I customize what it views as "enter" to a different Key such as "T" so I dont have to deal with this.

This must have happened today but when i click on any topic I can see the initial question but not any replies, the replies are compressed into a tree at the bottom of the screen and I have to expand each one individually to read them.

Ive never made it to a second disc of a game yet while running gameex, but I would be interested in the answer to this too, like for night trap when it says insert disc 2 what would you do?
