I realize that games after 2000ish don't really emulate well on PC with mame since it doesn't utilize video cards and such, but why does the series seem to pretty much stop around 2000-2002, is it because the games just don't run so its not worth the time or what?

I have a arcade monitor in my setup, I sometimes leave it at windows for extended periods of time, never thought about it, I have no burn in at all but wondered how long does it take for a arcade monitor to do damage sitting idle on a fixed screen?

Ok I don't think this can be helped but certainly annoying.. I keep my mame sets up to date to the latest .u, well everytime you update gameex has to scan your new mame set, this takes a really long time, i never timed it but probably 10-15 minutes? Anyway to make gameex scan the new database faster? Not that big of a deal but seems like every 3rd time I sit down to play I have to update my game list..

that is pretty cheap, but without the keyboard and speakers I could built a dualcore athlon with 2 gigs for $280 on newegg.com

Well I went and got a nice heat sink and paste for $16.00, put it in and BAM went from 70+ cel to 28 lol , been running the machine for 5 hours now no problems... Lucky cheap fix!

I used to love watching my idle gameex go through game screen savers, I remember there was some controversy from devs about using that patch that bypassed the Rom info / warning screen... Would it be too difficult to just code When gameex preview screensaver is activated upon file load input left , right on the keyboard to bypass it? damn meant to post this in requests sorry....

Yea i keep it clean , its not dust.. I was thinking the same thing after watching it for a bit hoffman, I had the cpu for god seems like 4 years or something so Im thinking maybe a fresh coat of thermal paste might do the job, as far as buying a new heatsink, it has the stock amd one, I mean its running smooth .. think that needs to be replaced too or just maybe reset with some fresh paste

Hi ive been running this mame pc for about a year now, it was my old main computer, athlon 4000, 2gb ram, 350w generic psu, 6800gt, sb audigy. Well for the last month it just shuts off in the middle of playing. Well now when I go to play I am updating my gameex list and it cannot make it through the full update without shutting off, I bought a new 120mm fan since the old was siezed thinking it prolly overheating. Well By looking it the diagnostic in the bios screen upon boot up im getting 57 degrees Celsius, Ive let it sit idle for about 10 minutes now in the bios and its climbed to a steady 63 degrees celsius, and thats without any tasks at all just bios. My cpu fan appears to be running full speed.. 3233 RPM . Is this a PSU issue or do I need to replace my cpu fan even though it seems to be running full force, or the cpu itself have something wrong that its not cooling? Im not sure.. its 67 degrees now ... thanks

built new pc, gameex runs fine etc, for video snaps I can watch them in windows, in gameex I jsut get a black box then sound plays for about 2 sec and stops, no video being shown, so I got a codec pack, didn't make a difference... what am I missing here?

Yea I just tried it its working but very slow, unplayable still.. That PC version looks better and works fine anyway but just thought it was cool to have it on mame. oh well maybe few months or something

Yea you can change controls in that PC version think its F2 or F1 or something. thats what I use at the time also.

Said mine was worth $11.00 lol. Makes 15k a year so I think they need a better estimator.

I have 2gb ram, HQ movies hang, I put the old ones back in, other than the fact there a little shorter than the HQ ones, the quality difference isn't noticeable imo since the playback window is so small.

Hi i never used the trackball before so maybe theres something im missing, its a happ usb/ps2 trackball, I have it hooked up PS/2, works fine in windows as a mouse. In mame however it doesnt seem to register it at all. If I TAB to input screen it does not recognize when I move it to assign controls, help please.

Logitech analog stick, whether you get the rumble one (little fatter and heavier) or the one without they are the best usb pc controller out there and cheap to $20 w/o rumble $30 with. I have one logitech and a radioshack usb to Playstation 2 adapter. Obviously the logitech is not made of the same quality as the real deal, hence this would be your optimal choice.

Thread starter, I have this same issue and have had it forever, mine only does it for one game though and its KI2, i have a 2gb ram athlon 4000+ basically barebones fresh install of xp pro. in KI2 my game runs smooth as butter but the sound glitches, I have tried everything, even bought a sound card, doesnt matter, game just hates my pc. Works fine on my other 2 computers just not my cabinet one of course. Would be interested in hearing how you fix it if you do though.
