  1. If some of your videos are working and not others, then it's probably a path problem. The only other thing I can think of is that your videos are in different formats and the codec for the emulator videos isn't set up correctly. I would load up the Setup Wizard and use the validate tool to make sure all paths are correct (you can get the same effect by just looking at your log file though).
  2. Just curious how the artwork is set up for this new feature? Do we need to set up the artwork paths for the emulators, or are those carried over from MAME? If they are carried over, that means that we will have to add extra content into the MAME Extras directories for Daphne (everything else should be ok I think). Also, Emumovies doesn't have clips for games that don't play in MAME in the MAME distro. The Daphne stuff is a separate download as is Zinc. It's not a huge thing, I'm just making sure I understand how to set things up. Thanks!
  3. Tom gave an example of how to do this in the post here. Anyway, just enable the feature inside the mameemumap.ini file by changing "enabled=false" to "enabled=true". Then go to the "[MAPROMS]" section and follow his example: 1942=1 That will make the MAME rom 1942.zip launch with emulator 1. So, you just have to set up an emulator for an older version of MAME and point to that emu number. I haven't gotten this to work yet as I've gotten bogged down in other things...then the cab locked up I should be up and going with something soon, so I can be better informed about things in a bit...
  4. You may be able to switch sources, but you might have difficulty with the touch screen/mouse location when switching. I'm not sure how those things connect so this may not be an issue. Just pointing it out so you can make sure it won't cause problems.
  5. Do you have a log file you can post when this happens?
  6. I think I remember there being a media player for Hula, but I could be wrong (I don't use streaming media on my cabinets). EDIT: It's Hulu, not Hula. Here's one Windows app that might work for you: http://www.paulyanez.com/labs/mymediaplayer/
  7. Yeah, I was actually hoping that this might get included in the last update when Tom offered to take a look at this. There's still a chance especially since this script doesn't solve all configurations. The best bet is to post to the features request thread and ask for trackball/spinner navigation support and point to this thread. I don't know if it will help though. To be honest though, since this is working for me (even with some restrictions), I am much more interested in the multiple MAME version support that may be incorporated soon. Because of that, I'm not pushing for any more features as that's truly my #1 request!
  8. I may have spoken too soon in regards to hide desktop working. I was playing a bit of Virtual Boy yesterday and when I exited I saw XPadder switching profiles. It should have been minimized, but that's not really the point here. If there's anything I can do, let me know.
  9. Yeah, the trackball is a mouse in windows. And, now that I think about it, custom keyboard input was definitely the other problem. That took some time to figure out the first time. Background: I wrote this script to use a pair of 360° steering wheels in my driving cab in GameEx. I wanted both wheels to control the menu navigation so either player could control the menu. Since the wheels are hooked up to a mouse on the 2 axis and they tend to twitch +/- 1 notches on the encoder wheel (or pixels if you like), I had to include some code to make the most active axis the one that's used. If you like, you can disable either the x- or y-axis in the code or even reverse the direction of either pretty easily. If you don't know how to do that, post what you want to do and either Tempest or I can fix you right up!
  10. I'm not sure. I run this on my driving cab and it works fine. I think Tempest uses his in a driving cab as well and I would have expected him to say something if it didn't work. He wrote a very similar script a while back, so I know this works on at least two machines. I do remember that there were certain settings that needed to be made, but I can't remember what they were! I can post my GameEx.ini if you want to check it out... gameex.ini.txt
  11. If you have set each game to not show the bezel, then you will have to change that for each game to get them to show again. On the up side, these should all be located in the ini file for each rom, so you could use a batch search and replace to change it's setting. Or, you might opt to remove the setting from the files using the same batch process. Either way would work.
  12. If you are talking about Mouse2Key that I posted, then yes it will work in Windows ONLY when a window containing "GameEx" in the title is active. Otherwise, the program just sits there and waits. You can open a text file in notepad with the name GameEx.txt or something and it should send up/down arrows (add a few carriage returns to the file and you should see the cursor move up and down).
  13. I'm running RAID5 on my server but admittedly haven't needed to test out the rebuilding capabilities yet (thankfully). If I were building today and had more resources, I might even opt for a RAID6 capable card just to have the ability to add a second redundant drive to the array. I'm only running 3 drives at the moment, so having RAID6 is not really critical.
  14. I usually just look at the settings to see if there's any problems. I don't have my testing setup anymore and I haven't been in the mood to do too much playing around like that with my working cab these days. I grabbed this in case I get motivated to reinstall the testing setup on my main PC again. Thanks Tom!
  15. Don't forget that you will be limited to 2TB partitions if you go with a 32-bit OS. As I recall, you had an 8TB raid on your system, so if that's still the case, you will be somewhat limited. 2TB is a lot today, but I would go with 64-bit to avoid limiting yourself.
  16. I did some testing yesterday and the HideOS bug seems to be fixed. Thanks for the quick work on it!
  17. Thanks for the update! I'm guessing this doesn't look at the HideOS stuff from the other thread? Good stuff!
  18. Will do! Thanks

Well, you can either update your rom set or, if you know what version your roms are, you can use that version of MAME. I would personally update the rom set if it were me though.
  20. I don't use radio, so I know that can't be it in my case. Thanks for checking this out.
  21. Bah, there's no such thing as a stupid question...only stupid people
  22. FWIW, you can find the version number in the log file. I've noticed a slow down as well, but wasn't sure if I changed my config somehow to cause this to happen so I didn't report it. I've also noticed that I'm seeing more windows popping up than I used to. For example, I've started seeing Project64 open prior to maximizing. In the past, I would just see a black screen until the game loaded. I've seen some similar things with MAME as well, so perhaps the hide desktop functionality has changed somewhat. Anyway, I haven't done any legwork to help, this is just a heads up to see if Tom or anyone else has noticed this.
  23. Good point. That would also work. I personally prefer the flat menus, so that would be a good way to go to get this desired effect.
  24. You should list the rom file so that you're working with the same thing. There are too many games that have the same title from different manufacturers or just different regions...
  25. There are only 2 ways to display menus. You can either display a flat menu (which is what you have), or you can display sub-menus. You cannot edit where items show up in the menus, but what you are describing should match the second setting. To get that, just turn off flat menus.
