  1. You have to reconfigure your controllers if you upgrade from 0.116 to 0.117+. There was some new stuff added that changed how inputs are received (I think it has to do with allowing multiple keyboards). Anyway, as a result you just have to redo your input files.
  2. If you want a dynamic top 10, that would currently be pretty tough since it doesn't exist. You can easily have a list of favorite games for all GameEx users (it shows up as LIVE - GameEx or something) and/or a MAWS list (LIVE - MAWS) as they are built in and can be turned on. You could also build a MAME32 formated list of your own top 10 games and have it show up on the front page. It won't be updated dynamically, though. This would be little better than a favorites list in my opinion. Personally, I like this idea and think it should be added. I would suggest that you add this to the feature request thread. I don't think this would be difficult since it's not much of an extension from what is already being done with the other LIVE lists and the data is already collected.
  3. Many NVidia cards have SVideo out built in. I suspect that's what Brian is doing. That's how I get video out of my Radeon.
  4. If you turn on the option to view the game information screen, it will open another screen with all that stuff as well as history and some other things.
  5. This has been requested a few times in the past. Seems like it's about time someone who has this set up correctly add it to the Emulators INI database so that it can be selected and easily installed (just like ZSNES, Nestopia, etc.).
  6. Thanks HK, I didn't have an install in front of me to find the exact location.
  7. I haven't seen anything put together for DC or PS, but I know these systems were around when GameSpot (et. al.) were going. Although there are a lot of games, it might be possible to either manually find a nice screenshot or scrape one of those sites for everything. As far as Saturn, dunno.
  8. There is a setting for enabling videos in the screen saver. Next to it, you need to change the ratio of videos to games and/or disable MAME and other emulators from the screen saver.
  9. Go to EmuMovies and select Arcade collections. Then right click on the link that says torrents for "M.A.M.E. .119 HiQ/SQ (WIP)(#-O)" and save the link. If you click on it, it opens the torrent directly which looks like junk. You probably could save that page and load it in your torrent downloader, but it's safer to just go back one step and save the file the other way.
  10. There are two lists that are built in for that. 1) multi-player = 2+, 2) 4 player. If you want lists for 2 player, 3 player, etc, you will have to construct it manually. There are info files that list the data, but it will have to be compiled in a MAME43 format and put in your "custom folders" location. Actually, there was a thread I just helped with yesterday that had a list already constructed. Hopefully Creek won't mind sharing his list. Folders_GameEx.zip
  11. Cool! Have fun.
  12. Did this end up helping?
  13. I grabbed it last night, but I don't know if it had an issue or not. It looks like the following categories have the wrong line end character: [5. Multiplayer 2 Player] [6. Multiplayer 3 Player] [7. Multiplayer 4 Player] They should have a carriage return + line feed, but they only have a carriage return. Try the attached file. Folders_GameEx_fixed.zip
  14. The reason it does that is because MAME has changed input systems so GameEx currently cannot send "OK" to get through that screen. There is a thread here about how to compile a patched version that has that verification removed. I suggest you check it out since it does some other nice stuff as well. Incidentally: I wanted to point out that the EmuMovies collection is very large as a whole, but it's not that big if you just grab what you want to use. The current set has high resolution and standard resolution sets. If you are using them for previews, the standard set should be just fine. Also, there is some duplication in the sets due to artwork (cropped, full) and aspect ratio (horizontal, vertical). I downloaded artwork/full and horizontal from the standard set and it was around 4Gb. If I wanted to create the videos, they would have been around that same size and taken days to do (if not longer). The real advantage is that Circo has personally checked to make sure there is good action in the videos rather than just stagnant title screens.
  15. I suggest you check out EmuMovies. They are really nicely done movies that show action of the game rather than just the title screen that you might get from the create videos option.
  16. hmmm, well it looks like it didn't successfully initialize the DirectInput Gamepad support. I would try a couple things. Open the Setup Wizard and use search to find input. Check Input Settings and click next. 1) Set 'Enable Keyboard DirectInput' to 'No' 2) Set 'Enable Gamepad/Joystick' to 'DONT initialise and use Joystick' See what happens.
  17. Okay, I'm busy this afternoon, but I'll try to take a look at it this evening. I'll load it up in my test machine to see if I see the categories pop up. If not, I'll play with one that I know works and see if I can break it.
  18. Please post the log file here and someone can help better. Without that, it would just be guessing.

    Export Configs

The system at Costco was built to run Vista. It wasn't an upgrade! *** Off Topic *** Btw, I hadn't heard of ReadyBoost before, but I found an article through Wikipedia. I'm confused though. The technology looks like it basically moves the page file to a flash device of somekind. If that's true, then it's kinda dumb. Flash memory has a limited number of writes in it's life. So using it for a page file basically means that you will kill your flash drive/SD/etc in a relatively short period of time. Why not just add more memory and enable a flash drive? Or, shrink your page file and add more memory. I guess I don't understand the advantage of this new feature.
  20. There are a number of tools to do this. I've used BeyondCompare2, but it's not free. There's also a diff feature in NotePad2 (or one of those other notepad replacements). Now that I look, there is a SourceForge project called WinMerge that looks pretty nice. WinMerge EDIT: Looks like I was thinking of PSPad as the Notepad replacement that has diff built in. If you don't care about side by side, you could always use MS Word to compare two versions of a document. It's not as nice as side by side, but it works in a pinch.
  21. Well, there you go
  22. That's cool. If you want to check one more thing: There is a set of header stuff that goes in front of those categories as I recall. It should be something like [customicon1...] [customicon2...] [root] game1.zip game2.zip game3.zip [1player] game4.zip game5.zip game6.zip [2player] game7.zip game8.zip game9.zip ...
  23. The only problem with the CLI option is that you will have no control over the process once it's launched. You would need to add another emulator/application to send "tskill <media player used>" to kill your playlist.
  24. DUUUUUHHHHH.... That's Star Wars Asteroids
  25. You should be able to load the profile directly without calling out xpadder.exe. I don't know if that holds true with multiple joysticks though.
