    Arcade Manuals

Good point Brian. I looked at a few manuals a while back and decided that, while they are very cool if you have the board and/or cab, they are not that interesting to view in a MAME cab. I have found them useful when trying to use the components from arcade cabs in my projects though!

    Arcade Manuals

There's actually a manual option for MAME that allows you to display arcade manuals. I think the manuals must be in PDF format, but that's typically what they are published in anyway. I can't list the location where to find it, but if you do a little searching, you should see it.
  3. ATM, there is only one path for each type of image (marquee, cabinet, title, etc.). I don't think there's any way around that to get more images than that.
  4. I took a look and didn't see anything immediately jumping out. I don't have GameEx on my work machine, so I would have to look later on. However, I don't have as much free time of late, so it would probably be better if someone else could check on this one...
  5. In general, drivers for games that have been in MAME for a while won't change. Unless the core code changed somehow, I don't see why it would matter much which version of MAME you run. For example, I've recently looked at Ikari Warriors in MAME 0.122 vs MAME Analog+ 0.71. Both play identically as far as speed, graphics, sound, etc. This is because the game was added ages ago and hasn't been updated. If you try to play a modern game with advanced graphics, you will need a faster machine no matter what version you run. However, I believe there was a change in some of the core MAME code in ~0.96 that changed how the graphics were displayed. I remember having to set up my video options after the update, so that might be a limiting factor for the low powered card you are talking about using (compared to modern standards).
  6. It's not always a matter of just adding something. Tom likes to keep everything clean and adding new features in a quick and dirty way is counterproductive. I like the idea of making an advanced feature for adding custom SQL code, but I don't know how Tom could make it clean.

  8. This should work. You will need to compile it since I don't have AHK (AutoHotKey) installed. This can be compiled to an executable. I originally wrote this so that it would run all the time. If you would prefer it to only run when Zinc is running, that can be modified easily. Hope this helps. Quit_Combo_Script_Key.zip

    Oh Noes..

Definitely make a backup! I did for both cabs and have been VERY glad since I needed them already...
  10. There is another thread that's currently discussing the Moby Ratings. Basically, the answer is no. There is currently no way to filter based on that info and there is apparently no plan to add that capability ATM.
  11. Here's your problem!
  12. Switch GameEx? Yes. Switch MAME and other Emulators? I don't know. To switch GameEx, you press control+TAB. I think this rotates the screen 90°, so this may not be exactly what you want but it will work. I would use either AHK or XPadder depending on how your controls are set up to convert the single button press into the correct sequence. To change the rotation of the monitor in Windows, I don't know the procedure. However, if you can figure out what you want done and do it manually, it's always possible to automate it with AHK (or AI if that's what you prefer).

    USB sounds

Could be a conflict with something, but you would need to provide more details if you expect resolution. OTOH, if all you want is to stop the sound and you don't care why it's doing it, you can edit the hardware found sound in the control panel. Just change it to none.

    Oh Noes..

Do a compare of the GameEx.ini that you posted earlier with your current one. The difference will tell you what you did to fix it. Might be good to know for other people.
  15. I think he's saying he's using the built-in GameEx CP Viewer that isn't configurable and it's showing buttons 1 and 2 different than his buttons 1 and 2. I could be wrong, but if that's the case...check out CP Wizard. I don't have a link at the moment, but I know HK has one.
  16. The only reality TV I watch is The Ultimate Fighter. I figure people get their faces beat in shouldn't be considered the same as American Idol et al...
  17. I was going to say that this is a CODEC issue and would need to be fixed in the setup for FFDSHOW. If you replaced the default one with another one and it works, great! There was a discussion on alternate CODECs a while back and in the end, Tom highly recommended sticking with the one listed on the main page.
  18. Isn't there a setting to stop playing your playlist audio when an emulator is loaded? Perhaps this is a MAME only option, but I was pretty sure it was universal. I haven't set up any audio on my cabs due to POS sound systems, so I can't comment other than what the setup wizard indicates.
  19. I don't see anything wrong with making other fields available as long as they can be enabled or disabled. I don't have a concept of a good way to do that ATM, but if Tom incorporates something, rest assured that it will be sleek!
  20. GameExtender can be setup to publish what you are playing to the GameEx main site for others to see. You can also use it to setup a second monitor for a display of marquees, screen shots, etc. If you have your pron going, it will be visible though If you don't want to use GameExtender, just turn it off in the config.
  21. There are some weird things that can happen with some of the themes. I don't fully understand why, but when you have an odd error, switching the theme can sometimes fix or at least ferret out the cause. I've tried building my own theme for a driving cabinet (which looked like crap thank you), but changing one or two seemingly innocuous settings can really screw things up.
  22. Two things: 1) Does it work on it's own? 2) Does it work when you run the "Run Last Game.bat" file in the GameEx Start menu? If the answer is no-no, you need to work on the SSF config first. If the emulator doesn't work outside of GameEx, it will never work launched from it. If the answer is yes-no, then post your emulator config (go to the emulator in the setup wizard and click export). If the answer is yes-yes, then I am baffled. Try posting your log file and perhaps your GameEx.ini file.
  23. Sounds more like someone is just trying to lure you into saying something so he can ban you.

    amp board?

I took a closer look at the board just now, and I realized that the board is powered by AC. I can't find anything about that model number, but if you plugged in AC into it and attached an audio source, you would know in 5 minutes if it works!
