"http://www.hometheaternetwork.com/HTN_HTPC2.htm" -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- DVDs are encoded in a 480i, standard definition format. When played back on a 1080i or 720p HDTV, the low resolution/frame-rate of DVDs or any standard definition video can cause comments such as â??Why is it so blurry?â? and â??Why does your new TV look like **** ?â? These unfortunate comments can be reduced by using video upscaling. Upscaling Filters â?? ffdshow A free plug-in for your DVD viewing software is available that will arguably upscale and sharpen video better than any $500 DVD player on the market. This plug-in is called ffdshow and it has almost too many options to mention. Some of them are listed below. * Sharpening filters * Blur and noise reduction * Noise filters * Resize video * Aspect ratio correction * Increase/decrease video delay (helps with lip sync issues) * Crop or zoom in on video * Deinterlace filters * Logoaway gets rid of logos * Gamma correction * Luminance correction * Luminance/chrominance offset * Bitmap overlay â?¦. and many more. All these numerous options makes it difficult to recommend ffdshow settings. You can go to the AVS Forum to access multiple userâ??s opinions. Remember that your choices will be limited to your HTPCâ??s CPU processing power, video card processing power, the amount of RAM installed, and other hardware components. If your HTPC can handle it, one general recommendation is to resize your video to 2.0 times the original size, and then run through the other filters such as blur reduction and sharpening. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Well i have some questions regarding this. Does gamex come bundeled with ffdshow? will it upscale my DVDs via gameex? or is this only for the registred user? I am not a registred user yet but i will be when i get my Plasma this summer. but how will i go about trying to watch my DVDs in upscaled and does gameex come bundled with the ffdshow program and can you adjust the picture and upscaling and stuff via that program in gameex then? thanx for som answers from someone who knows. (not many people know the insides of upscaling buizzniz)

Anyone knows what this error in gamex is? should i remove gamex and reinstall? or is there a quiq way for not to reinstall it (i really liked my gamex setup) Ps the only thing i did with gameex today was to install mugen, got it running fine. no prob there. and i removed the pathways to the images in the htpc configurations. (i was just about to input new patwhays to the images) but now i cant go into the config of gamex or gameex itself. just breaks down and gets these wierd wrong messages. plz help

Im talking different resolutions on different consoles, (640x480) on all the 8-16 bit consoles, somewhat higher resolutions on the 32/64/128 bit emulators this seems to work fine in gameex. but what about having a lesser resolution in windows (800x600) and a higher resolution when in gameex? does that work? and is there an option to lower the resolution when using the gameex browser function? when sitting a bit far from the TV you want to be able to read from a distance, therfore making it easier with bigger text (lower res) what im asking is what are the viable options, whats supported and whats not? anything particular problematic regarding this you bumped on on ther road with gameex? //// PS how does the amulators look on a flat widescreen tV? do they get "stretched" (compared to a monitor) :S or does black bars on the side appear in order to not screw with the original image?

1 alot of the caracters is like "shitty, bad , or so imbalanced that its not funny anymore" so of the 1000 characters that exist, maby about 4-500 really are okay. (just so you know) ps 1 The torrent for the mugen game is pretty easy to find on "google"!!!!! 2 eaven if the "everything vs everything" map supports alot of characters, the skin isnt that pretty, and you can bearly make out the guys in the little boxes. id say go for the edited marvel vs capcom select screen, thats an awsome pretty select sreen!!!!!

set the framerate to 63 and lock it to 63!!!!

hi. i cant get 4 players (the 2 extra controllers) to work. when i set epsexe to 4 players and adjust the controlls for it nothing happens. not eaven my first controller works while in epsx anyone got the epsx running with 4 joypads/gamepads? (having bomberman in mind) ?

HD dvd is more than enough in terms of storage space. yes blue ray has a little bit more storage space but HD-dvd is alot cheaper than blueray. so the professionals still twists what format will win the war. but when i get a either HD dvd or blueray for my computer, will gameex be able to run it?
-
Is HD-DVD or Blueray disc playback functional with gameex? im thinking "maby" getting this like a year from now when i know who is winning the format war. But is this possible to do via gameex?
-
i really suck at computers and bearly got everything running in gammeex. But mugen isnt that complicated. the select.def file in the "data" folder, is where you input your characters and stages then you put characters in "char" folder and stages in "stages" then mugen.cfg to adjust video, controller exetra Search mugen +help , mugen+screenpack setup in google. thx for the gameex setup peace!

Hi guys. For all you fighting fans, mugen roxx!!!! Mugen is a 2D fighting engine where people make their own characters n stuff. It has existed since late 90Ães and now almoast all fighting game character you can think of, and most cartoon and other agme caracters exist. This in 1 single game!. So we are talking about a 2D fightinggame with over 300 different characters from streetfighter, mortalkombat, to sonic, alien vs predator and super mario bros! this is so awsome, . just found out about it, DL it , played it!!!!! WELL. My really point here is how to get the .exe file running from gameex. 1 Can i setup mugen as an "emulator" or as a "PC game"? 2 How do i setup this thing? (i just need gameex to somehow show the "winmugen" exe file and be able to escape out from mugen using the button config for the controller? or do i have to use joytokey or is there any patch for mugen via gameex? well, anyways. its very awsome. eaven if i cant run it trough gameex (wich i hope i can) peace out.

-hey man my gf said it was a bit nicer graphics than that, but i will shureley chek it out! thx , will get back on it. its supposed to be a guy /ball thats rolling sideways.
-
-- ok so iggys recking balls, trailblazer and the other above suggested games isnt it. she said it wouldnt have to be balls, it could also be some form of jelly or like, some kind of characters, helping eachother trough the game. its on either SNES or the Genisis (she said) (not lost wikingS) but a 2d platformer,
-
My GF remembers this game where you are some kind of round guys, maby balls, in a 2D environment, that has to work together to reach the goal. its somewhat like lost wikings, (but not at all as complicated or refined). (you have different coulured balls) with different abilitys, one ball can jump, one ball can roll, one ball can stretch. You want to get Through the stage. Its a sidescrolling game. and you dont kill enemys in The game because their aint many enemys. the purpose of the platformer is to get to the end. this is a 2 d platformer with alot of puzzle moments in it (because you need to use the right combination of your balls to reach the exit) (like mario exit) hmm. these games are ruled out 1 Marble madness 2 Super putty 3 jellyboy

Hedakze!! JOYPAD EXIT! word man. your the man. no more manually klicking joytokey everytime starting gameex woooho (will have a go at it on monday when i get home next week) thx

thx for the reply tom! gamex is the best ever though! thank god for you guys!! i just thought of one thing though, would it be possible to run a 3rd party tv support program like myth TV via gameex? so using the gamex interface for everything exept for TV support, (then gameex automatically switches to another prograM)? i know you can configure alot of other interfaces with themes n stuff and one could get the other program to look very much like gameex but using their program for the specific TV in support? if this would work then you could still do everything from gameex without having to exiting and opening up other programs. anyone got this going/thought about this?

-- hmm i still dont got what it is. is it arcade monitor lightning? i tryed googling for it but i cant find what applications ledwis is used for. i guess it is for real arcade monitors?
