  1. I've had to split my Playstation games between both epsxe and pSX for compatibility reasons but I can't seem to get the games to load since the config file was meant for mounting images with Daemon tools and not for running images directly. The command line for pSX to load is psxfin.exe -f and I tried adding several variations of "[RomPath]\[RomImage]" or "[RomPath]\[RomFile]" either in the command line or the launch after procedure. Does anyone have a working pSX config for using images directly? I've already checked the stickies above but they are dated. I also would like to state that the Dolphin emulator works relatively the same in this respect and if I could figure this one out somehow I might be able to get a Dolphin config running as well and would be happy to post it. Thanks in advance.

    New Theme!

LingPanda already made 6 theme editor video tutorials in flash. I think they are on the main page to download.
  3. 15mb? I use megaupload all the time and unless you're on dial up it would never take that long. Check your scripts or firewall settings to make sure you are not blocking any ports. If megaupload is giving you trouble try mediafire rapidshare or fileplanet. I look forward to testing it out.
  4. I converted all the png pics to jpeg's to reduce the size and they work the same and have no noticeable quality loss. Naming is usually the reason a specific snap/video won't show not format as much.

    Theme Help

I've also tried using the 0 setting but it doesn't work, so I usually just reduce the window to 1 and hide it in the corner. It's not a good solution but it works for hiding parts you don't use.
  6. I'm making one with the same resolution and will try it out tomorrow. Nice icons!
  7. This is a sample of a widescreen theme 1360x768 I had started in the beginning of summer called "Technologic" but never had the time to finish. I want to try to finish it before I go back to school but I may not be able to, and it still has some bugs to work out, namely the windowed mode, hiding certain lines, and for some reason the letter "y" doesn't appear in some titles. I was thinking of just releasing it unfinished along with the appropriate snaps if I can't get it right. I wanted to keep it very minimalist because even though I appreciate all the extra info and features, my friends and siblings aren't exactly very good with emulators so I tried to keep it as base as possible.
  8. Kingdom Hearts FFX and Gradius 5 I get real good frame rates, other 3d games more like 30fps, but they aren't worth playing yet. I was merely stating that they run well enough to play and capture videos with. There are also a lot of ways to make them much faster if you are not interested in the accuracy, such as losing the time scaling and sound and not using AA. The comparison I meant to suggest was that on a single core with no bells and whistles it was hard to play, but with a quad you can easily reach playable speeds with the more popular games. I doubt we'll be playing Gran Turismo 3 anytime soon, but there are still games that run well currently.
  9. Anything dual or quad should run it fine. I was getting about 45-50fps on my single 3.7HT, until I went to the Q6600. Now in certain games (FFX Kingdom Hearts) I can get 100+fps and capture video simultaneously because the emulator takes advantage of multiple cores. I'll try to modify a dreamcast config because they are pretty similar except for the iso loading.
  10. Has anybody come up with a new config for pcxs2 0.9.4 or 0.9.5? It's the last emulator I'm working on incorporating into Game Ex, and the only one I'm not sure there is a working config for yet. I can imagine the trouble with this one being the Linuzappz plugin, having to load an iso confirm then execute.
  11. Sry double post. Try using the adapter method for DVI and HDMI and see what the highest res you crank out of it while maintaining either 50 or 60hz depending on your region.
  12. These may or may not be some answers but I have had similar problems, and just some observations. I've been trying to use digital connections since projection tv days but I've come to find that most displays advertise 1080p while it is usually either from an analog signal or 1080i and then upconverted. On my first hdtv i tried using DVI and the highest resolution I received was 800X600p but as soon as I switched my vid card to an interlaced signal I could display 1080i. My next was a plasma with a rgb input and HDMI and it can display 1360X768p through the RGB signal which is still analog. I then tried a DVI to HDMI adapter and the highest signal I got I believe was 1024X768p at 16bit color. On still yet the newest one which is a 48" Vizio 1080p LCD HDTV (around $1200usd) although it is capable of a 1080p resolution it is through the RGB only which again is a analog signal. It does look great but I have yet to find a display under 10K that will receive a digital signal of 1080p. If you don't mind a high res analog connection I recommend using it for the time being, until displays can handle true HD signals. Just my .02
  13. This method works great only weird thing is when you press ESC which I have mapped for exit back to GameEX since its in the DOS environment it usually just responds inside the program until you exit out of the game itself but other than that this works excellent for D-Fend. Great job!
  14. It DOES work! Well it actually loads and plays pretty well which is more than I can say for all the other wrappers and configs (no offense) but there are a few little hang ups- Did you notice a significant decrease in fps? I'm not sure if it is game ex itself or the gdrom plug in but games were pretty slow as compared to running outside gameex. Also I never used the gdrom plug-in but may have an alternate method for running games. I can't write code but here are the basics. Instead of using daemon tools why not use the image reader plug in and have it pointed to: Options>GDROM>select default image then you would pick it then go to System>start> then select image again I didn't have to use daemon tools after using that plugin but would have no idea how to incorporate that into gamex. Just a suggestion, excellent work though I've been struggling with Dreamcast for a LONG time.
  15. I have a very easy solution I've been using for over a year now and now with the newer versions it works even better. I also hate it when MAME updates stuff all the time so what I did was: 1. Let it run the update once after all my games and settings were correct. 2. Go into C:\Program Files\GameEx\DATA 3. Right click the gamelist text file and set to read only. 4. Thats it! In previous versions it would try to update and flash a bit getting annoying, but then I simply started a game then esc back to the menu and it was gone. In the new versions you don't even see the flash. Now this maybe be the "wrong" thing to do but I never knew WHY it had to update all the time whenever I wanted to play a game. All of my emulators never update and especially when my technically disabled friends try to work it they are like "update?" I made a game ex video displaying my set up if you want to see it in action. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Px3yKnTCEs This was my old game ex but it had the same principle. Hope it works enjoy!
