It sounds to me like you have clones filtered out in GameEx. You see, Pac-Man is a clone of Puckman. http://www.mameworld.net/maws/romset/puckman You need to enable clones, then update your gamelist. Or, you could play Puckman instead. The reason that Pac-Man was made for non-japanese countries is the fact that the P in Puckman easily could be altered to F, rendering a new game title on the cabinet not suitable for minors. Emph

I don't know if this has been requested earlier, but possibility to use multiple gameex.ini files as a command line option. Say that you have a cabinet with rotatable screen, just save two different .ini's, one for your vertical and one for your horizontal. Make two shortcuts, one with "gameex.exe -ini vertical.ini" and one with "gameex.exe -ini horizontal.ini". Or for other uses, use one shortcut just for htpc only use and one for gaming only. I'm sure people can come up with a lot of cool stuff. Emph

You can edit the theme you're using with the GameEx Theme Editor and remove it I guess. Try it why don'tcha! Emph

I "upgraded" to MAME32+ 0.106 and now I get major slowdowns in all vertical games if I use the bezel option. I'm not sure wether it's MAME or all the GameEX upgrading that is doing this. I believe I've read somewhere that the bezel files can get corrupted. As I used my own custom bezels, this might be the case.... Hmmm.... I'm gonna delete my files and reinstall and see if this helpes. Emph

smiff: if you are a registered user, just go into "Basic MAME settings" and enable them in the last option. Launch a vertical MAME game and voilá! Emph

I had some oddities happen to me with Spy Hunter, the left side of the GameEx bezel covers about 80% of the screen, so you can hardly see what game is loaded. And Super Punch Out is displayed without the bezels. Emph

This should be in the theme editor options, so it's always recorded/saved in the theme.ini, otherwise every theme will look crap on some systems. Actually, I've already made a feature request about something like this, so I'll quit yappin' about it so I won't go on everyone's nerves. Emph

You have a download link in your personal message inbox. The theme is not complete, just for MAME and other Emulators so far. And you have to use "smallest fonts" for it to look right. Emph

It's working like before now. See, what I did was update my gamelist, but since GameEx always crashes when I update the gamelist using my own theme, I have to switch to one of the defaults as a workaround. I went out while the list updated and forgot about it, then noticed the desktop showing between games. This must be caused by some graphic mode setting I guess. No need to waste your time on it Tom. Why is my desktop showing between games in screensaver mode all of a sudden? I'm guessing someone forgot to turn something off before compiling. Emph

I've only had time to test it once. Will try it again and report back. It didn't exit right away, but after about 5 seconds after I pressed coin 1. Emph

About the "New menu option to launch the Screensaver at any time", I pressed my coin button (with the screensaver started manually of course) and the screensaver exited. Isn't it supposed to work like the timed attract mode that you can play games if you insert coins? Emph

You're confusing AdvanceMAME with "Advanced MAME configuration". AdvanceMAME is a port of MAME as you know, "Advanced MAME configuration" is just a setup page for additional settings in your MAME/MAME32/MAME32+/AdvanceMAME .ini-file. If some of your clones aren't showing up, you might need to edit the "Game filters" (page 2 in Advanced MAME configuration). Mine is currently set to "Hispanic;french;german" because none of those clones is interesting to me. Good luck! Emph

Here's a theme configuration request: I've made a theme that's about done, but if I change the font size, it looks all screwed up. Why is that? Since I've defined in the theme editor how big the gamelist is, why does the size of that field change just because I use bigger fonts? It would be very cool if you could make just one theme that dynamically changes necessary settings (background image source/size) and game list size etc. This way, people could concentrate on having fun while creating themes. This feature rotates the screen 90/-90 degrees. For your coctail cab you need to use a 180 rotation, right? Just so you don't get your hopes too high... Emph

How about letting GameEx display the rom version in the info screen below the rom name? Next to game category, there would be (Japan, World or what not). I also miss this. I guess that an automized "no bracketed text" option like the one in GameEx could need some fine tuning. It would be best if you could make some choices in the configuration before generating the game list. Emph

Just a quick question, why in the hell don't you use the original GameEx logo at the top of your site? It would look much more "professional" and "official" that way. I feel I need to point this out as I know from your themes what you're capable of and that logo on your site doesn't do your work justice. Very nice initiative though. Emph

I'm just thinking about wether I should make it a "complete" theme with all the buttons and logos available, but since I just use GameEx for MAME/emulators, perhaps people with similar needs will find it useful.
