  1. Yes, but gameex uses some kind of decoder for the file. Its apparently not the powerdvd decoder or it would have the passthrough preference set. Just set gameex to use the powerdvd decoder. it might be using something else. Mine works fine.
  2. I havent found a perfect HTPC program, but I chose MCE2005 for mine. Mostly because its the most polished looking and easiest for anyone to use. Since im not the only one who uses it. I also like the mymovies plugin better than the dvd on disk of gameex. While we are on the subject tom, I also think the MCE does a better job with the pictures. gameex seems to zoom way to much and I cant see alot of the picture. Thats my opinion. For music however I like gameex alot better.
  3. What decoder are you using for the audio? Whatever is decoding the audio has to be set to passthrough and also in the creative control panel.

    Map File Question

I think gameex creates the map files for you. Just find the right one and edit it how you want. Just make sure you save it somewhere else so gx doesnt recreate the original.
  8. You know, I never used sound with my snaps.... but decided to try it since every once in a while someone is having problems. darschaschkna is completely right. ffdshow disabled and xvid codec installed will work great. ffdshow set to use xvid codec will not work. ffdshow with libav will not work. ffdshow audio codec works regardless. I noticed that if you turn the snap sound off and use ffdhow with xvid codec it will have the stuttering and pausing issue that a lot of people were having not to long ago. but the libav codec works fine.
  9. I didnt have to do anything, just auto-updated from 9.02 and it worked.
  10. I just tried it out and it is definately all I hoped it would be! Thanks again!
  11. Added the list of PC Game names
  12. Thank you very much guys!
  13. I probably would never have mentioned it to her in the first place. Just have bought it and been happy!
  14. Yup, I made them from my cleaned up collection.
  15. I was thinking more along the lines of when someone finds a game they have and use without info I could add it in. Thats gonna take forever!

    Romcenter Dat files

Glad you found them useful. Im never content with my system if that makes you feel any better. These should work in clrmamepro too I think. What program did you use?
  17. Here, I made a new thread with the dat files. I dont know what emulators you use. But those are a few to start. http://www.gameex.info/forums/index.php?showtopic=4707
  18. Well, I thought these might help some people clean up their collection a little. Started with nointro sets, reduced to 1 of each game. The best version available. USA if available, then EURO, then the rest are JAP Simply load these in romcenter, load your roms, then select all the green ones and move them to a seperate folder. Those would be the good ones. N64_Best.zip genesis_best.zip BestNES.zip SNES_Best.zip
  19. I cant answer your question directly, but the info screen should not stay open while the movie continues playing. Something is not right.
  20. Like frequency said. You can take your 11000 file goodset and turn them into a no-intro set. Load a no-intro dat into the romcenter and scan the whole list of roms. The extra garbage roms will be "unknown" Just select all those from within romcenter and move them to a different folder.
  21. Which rom set are you working with? I don't recall the no-intro set having revision A, B etc. I could be wrong though.
  22. Thats why you should run them all through a no intro dat first. It will take the best version for you.
  23. As the topic states, if you feel something is not correct in the databases, or have a game not in them, post it here and we will get them fixed. If you feel a category is not correct please check www.allgame.com first to see how it is listed there. Keep in mind that the PC database has game names in there. If your shortcut (rom) is not named the same way it may not pull up the info even though it is in the database. Unfortunately there is no universal naming scheme like "goodname" or "NO-Intro" for PC games. Ill see if I can create a list of all PC games in the database so you can quickly look if your game is there and name the link accordingly. If its possible can a mod make this a pinned topic. Thanks PC_Games_List.zip
  24. To do what you want. You have a little work to do. 1. Seperate them to different folders. (I think you do already) Like USA, Euro, Japan, nodumps, etc. Easiest to use a no-intro set to start with. 2. Get a file renamer, remove all the extentions from the file names in all the folders. Your roms should just be the game name. 3. Then drop the euro files into the japan folder. Then the USA files in he Japan folder overwriting all files all the time. That will make the euro (english) files replace any of the same games that are in Japanese. Then when you dump the USA roms in the japanese folder, they will over write any of the same games leaving you with 1 of each game. Mostly USA, and some euro or japanese if there is not a USA version. 4. Run the new set back through romcenter and have it put the correct names (with extensions) back on if you want. You have to decide how you want them to be. Think about how they will match with snaps and etc. You should decide if you want to keep them in a zip file before you start or just the rom. If you keep them in a zip file, the actual rom names will never be changed. Only the zip file name. Its up to you. Ill see if I can make some useable dats for romcenter with the emulators I use. I have done that work to all my emulators.
  25. alot of times those launchers just load an executable file (the game) See if one of the .exe files in the games directory goes strait to the game and then make a shortcut to that.
