  1. In the database there is a "goodname" and a game name. Gameex uses to "goodname" from the database to match any information in the database to the rom. It really has nothing to do with snaps. The snaps should be labeled seperately by you or download a set that matches your roms. Sorry, I don't quite understand the question to help you better. "I use Offline List to aduit my roms and download their snaps. Have never been able to get pics to work within GameEx. Can the database be tied in with these lists to show the snaps."
  2. Did you enable the goodmerge 7zip support? Do these roms all work correctly when playing them regularly? I know goodmerge sets have working and non working roms. Maybe it is getting to a non working rom and erroring out? Just some thoughts.
  3. Actually I dont think gameex displays the name from the database. It displays the actual rom name. It just has a filtering system that will "fix" it to however you set it in the advanced config. Tom would have to implement something do do the color change things, but if you run your roms through good tools or something similar it should already tell you whats missing. I dont think the databases are sufficient to show all the games. It has the list from moby games. So if there is a game not in moby then it wont be in the list. Also, just because there is a game on moby doesnt mean there was ever a rom available. I was planning to start a thread for the databases do do just that. (adding info) And have t stickied. Just never started it. The snaps should have nothing to do with the databases. It simply matches the snap name to the rom name the best it can. Even when snaps are named exaclty as the rom, I would have problems sometimes. You have to enable "find best match" or whatever its called int he advanced config.
  4. I imagine you are registered? I think its a registered only feature.
  5. Just out of curiosity, are you using the latest dfatabases that were released with the newest build of gameex, or the ones that have been around for a while?
  6. Oh, I thiink there is a problem with grouping emulators and databases IIRC.
  7. Hey thanks! I wanted to do that, but havent got around to it. I also use fusion for all the sega stuff
  8. Try turning on/off the feature that finds similar matches to the names. I forgot exactly what its called. But I had the same problem and even though my snaps have the same name I had to turn on the search for best match feature. The databases should have nothing to do with snaps.
  9. Sorry sbaby, I wish I could help, but I dont know of any other solutions.
  10. Do you change around your games all the time? If you add a game or change a mame version I think it will detect it and ask you. Maybe you are just changing something between those times.
  11. What are the games that persist? It very possibly is an error in the MDB. The easiest way to see if the database is correct is to go to the actual game info screen where it gives the description. At the top of that screen it shows the category that is actually in the database.
  12. Sent the email to [email protected], it has 3 files attached and I put gameex in the label for your spam filter. Let me know if you get it!
  13. Well, i talked to Stu, it is ultimately his project after all. We concluded that I will finish the Amiga, Zx Spectrum, and Atari ST at some point since they are probably the more popular old PC's and only have about 300-600 entries each to fill in. The windows and dos ones have thousands to fill in, but we agreed that most users don't have thousands of PC games on there cabs since its not like setting up one emu and having thousands of games immediately. We also agreed that allgame probably has the most popular games entered in the databases already. Then there is the problem of new games. Most of the emulators don't have new games being made for them, so the databases are complete. Windows will always have new games coming out that wont be in there. So I proposed we release these databases as is, and make a pinned thread where users can post any games they would like added. Once a month or weekly or whatever me or Stu or whoever can add them in and release a new database in that thread for download. I honestly don't expect it to be many. We could also use that thread to correct any mistakes I hopefully didn't make If someone thinks something is wrong just post it up and we can get it changed. So if you like tom, I will zip up all the work and send it over to you to add.

    multiple mame version

You should move the rom to C:\mame32u103\roms\ and leave the CHD in the kinst folder Then where it asks for roms you should have it set to the above path. Working path should be s:\mame32u102\ and the command should be mame32.exe [rom] -rp "[rompath]" <add whatever other arguments you want here> I believe that is right.
  15. Does the game play without gameex running?

    MAME "Software SLI"

Ok, so you would need the mamepm version to run this then since its for mobile dual cores?

    MAME "Software SLI"

Thanks for the help guys. Brian: you may be correct on the 64bit OS, but it looks to me like he is showing performance nubers from 32bit version. Mamepm and then 64mame for 64bit. Does anyone know what mamepm is? Just one of his versions I suppose.

    MAME "Software SLI"

Yes, but where do I put that setting?
  19. Taken from here: http://www.vg-network.com/2007/10/06/mame-...october-6-2007/ Does anyone know what they are talking about? I know it is using both cores of the CPU, but how does he set it up that way?
  20. In the meantime, you could set up another emulator and have it launch playlist in a CLI player before mame. This might also be beneficial if you only want music with few games and not all of them. Just add the games you want to that emulator.
