  1. Hi I also wanted to say. If skinning is extremely important to you and you can't wait for me to make improvments you might want to use MAMEWah as your front end instead of GameEx. It's very highly thought of and it has a big user base also. It is harder to configure than GameEx and lacks some features GameEx has, but is extremely customisable. http://mamewah.mameworld.net/
  2. Theres no editor, just modify the Images and a theme.ini file. I am well aware its limited, as in you cant change where things appear.
  3. OK, it's on the list.

    Updating

Whoops, looks like I edited your post rather than reply.
  5. Its already something I have thought about. Perhaps you or someone else could develop an RSS feed application? The HTML apps don't need to be coded by me!
  6. Hi, I think its more a bug for me to sort out, I am aware of it, I found it a bit of pain too. I think I may split up the forums, good point. I was not expecting it too be quite so busy as it is. It seems to be much more active than the Yahoo group was, and that's what I was basing it on when just setting up one forum. I'll see how it goes. Tom
  7. Hi certainly possible but its not on the list at the moment, sorry.
  8. remove the MAP file, and check the FAQ
  9. Hi, There should be no need to do a map file for N64 games, as you can use the GoodTools to rename the file names. MAP files are only needed for a very few emulators. Google goodtools etc, and dont use a map file. Tom
  10. Hi, sorry, I've been a little busy in the real world I must admit its the first time I checked out Screenshot archive, and it looks very cool. I did not realise the filenames are already in Goodtools format, which makes this quite doable, and a good excuse to add the favorites feature for other emulators too. Your comments and request are deffinitly noted. Thanks for your support. Tom.
  11. Go grab the latest version just uploaded. Please let us know the results. Thanks in advance. Tom
  12. Hi, GameEx can already be skinned to some degree by using themes, although not everything can be changed such as like with MAMEWah. Looked in the pinned topic for sample themes. Sorry, I had to edit your post. Tom
  13. I've just tested 0.93. I can't see any issues. I did get a few less games, but I probably need to update my roms. Galaga seemed to be there. By default the update is based on the XML list of roms from MAME and a Verify of your ROMS. In addition the Only Working, Allow Imperfect, No Clones, No adult, and Filter settings It is probably just a MAME issue. They make tons of changes throughout the versions. A few versions back all Neo-Geo games would not verify until you got a new file. Although I think they did run in MAME32. So the obvious thing to do would be turn off the Verify, or get the latest roms and audit them. You can also have the update check against file rom names on the hard disk, or list everything. Basically unless you know what your doing and can obtain new roms easily, updating to a newer MAME version will probably mean you have less games to play. Tom
  14. The version attached before does fix the problem, as I could duplicate the issue on MCE PC. I'll get an update out today hopefully.
  15. I think MAME 0.93 may have broke some stuff, I'm looking into it now. For Previous version you need to set allow imperfect for Galaga to show. I take it you tried that? Thanks, Tom
  16. I just wanted to say, that it will save a lot of time and hassle if when reporting problems you include the following when posting. Your log file. Your Gameex.ini file The version of GameEx The version of MAME Quite often new releasese of MAME break things in front ends, so the latter can be very helpfull in helping me fix the problem. This is deffinitly apparant in recent posts. Thanks, Tom.
  17. Hi, Pictures are still under development. Sorry about that.
  18. Its actually under Tweaks, but try this version, I think it will fix the issues. Its a bug in GameEx for sure. If it works let me know, and ill release on the masses. Thanks. GameEx.zip
  19. I think this is the problem. Set Load Playlist on thread to false under Audio settings. That was a new setting in recent releases.
  20. Hi, Can you post the full log, and then: Can you replace GameEx.exe with the attached debug version. Run and post the log around where it fails, along with your gameex.ini file. Also let me know about you software setup and hardware. Thanks. GameEx.zip
  21. Thanks, deffinitly a good thought, keep em coming.

  23. 28th February 2005 - Version 3.40 of GameEx available Now uses -vol -32 instead of -nosound for mame and attract audio modes with no sound. This fixes attract mode and launching games when using 0.93 of MAME, although is not a temporary fix.
  24. Hi, I have found what I think is a bug in MAME 0.93. The -nosound command setting appears to stop games working. This affects Attract mode when you have it set to not use mame sound, and could also affect normal launching of games if you has set the audio mode to not use audio in MAME. I'm trying to report the issue at mame.net now. Thanks. Tom
