25th March, 2008 - GameEx 9.17 Another day, another GameEx enhancment This version introduces a "last played" module/list. Similar to most played but listing games you played in order of when you last played them. There are also updates to the code that handles videos previews. Hopefully for the better, but if you encounter any problems with video previews or snaps please advise

Hi all, I'v been playing around with video in GameEx last couple of days. Ive made an update to the libraries. If your getting a problem with snap videos pausing, can you please try replacing the attached files, and let me know This also stops GameEx crashing if your using the latest FFDSHOW which has a bug stoppng the snaps playing if you have audio enabled. They still dont play but GameEx should not crash. I have reported the bug on the sourceforge site of FFDSHOW tryouts, after spending quite a bit of time examing the exact code that causes it to crash. The problem only occurs if audio is enabled in snap videos. I think this should fix the HQ set of emumovies. Ive only tested with dkong.avi as Im still downloading but that plays perfectly for me. Yeah, thats a bug, it should do nothing. You need to select a config to import first.

Actually, seems like that is a small bug. Edit: Will be fixed in 9.16. Available shortly.

Hello all, I am endevering to remove any rom site ads that appear on any of the GameEx sites. The sites take a while to update after I filter each one, but could I ask if anyone sees any rom site ads displayed on any of my sites, they please inform me so I can remove them. Thank you. Tom

22nd March, 2008 - GameEx 9.15 For registered users GameEx now features a fully functional search feature. Allowing searching of all games and media. The search feature works with remotes, game pads and arcade controls. The media library now allows access to ebooks and Karaoke The paging arrows are now more inuiitive and display based on the state of the list. They also animate slightly when first shown The displaying of the amount of items in the list is now slightly animated when switching between lists The number of items is now shown for an emulator or emulator group before accessing the list item GameEx will retain the window state after an update instead of being forced into full screen Fixes snap videos not being displayed when navigating from most played or favorites New setting to lock down GameEx to only work with a single emulator or emulator group. All other menus are disabled Fixes emulator music playlist folder when only one file in folder Happy Easter

Ive just looked at this, and there seems to be a bug if there is only 1 file in the folder. Ill try and get it fixed for the next release, but the workaround for the momet is just to make a copy of the file so you have two the same in the folder.

GameEx currently plays only favourites for MAME only. Its just what it does at the moment. Sorry. I may add to that later when I have time.

It should be automatic. GameEx checks the folder modified date and recaches. Only thing I know that stops this happending it if you have a map file specified.

I dont think I've ever testedt about a height of 1024. Ill look into it. Does it affect the default V1 themes too. Can you post a screenshot?

Yeah, theres still plenty to keep us all interested, at least for a while BKenobi: Yes it searches all games. Although I still need to do Daphne. It also searches all media including pdf ebooks, karaoke, and DVDs. The Media Library will also list all that now in the next release. Only thing it does not support is searching comic books. yet.

This looks to be a theme issue to me. Can you try the default theme please. Further info for you its failing trying to load "pleasewait.png" or "pleasewaitbar.png" from the themes media folder. Id check you have those images and that there not corrupted.

Yes, thats basically it. Accept you press select to release the search box and go to the menu, and your press right for next character.

The only thing I would say, and that most of you dont realise, the hypnotist is renowned and well known in the UK. On TV etc. I thought that too, that it could go very wrong. If it is real, its actually pretty shocking. Probably give some folks a heart attack or stroke!
