I did see something off in the gamepad code but not sure why it was working before. The attached replacement addresses it. GameEx.zip

Do you still have the windows 10 rig? Does version 19 work on that? Does an earlier version work on the windows 11 setup? Like i said, ill find a gamepad and have a look.

version 19 fixes the emulator caching (rom scanning). i am not sure about the black screen yet.

You should not need to run it as admin. i wouldnt worry about the os not displaying. it shouldnt affect anything else. What version of windows 11 is it?

i will have to dig out a gamepad but I just released version 19 which fixes the emulator caching issue.

its not the ini. is it running under a reduced user account privilege? Anyway, the os thing isnt a huge deal.

The emulation caching is a bug. That will be fixed tonight.

Yes, it is. That is odd. It does for me. It is not restoring the emulators from cache either. i wonder if gameex.ini is bad.

By the way that note in the log, normally means it cant find any gamepads attached to the system. Do they show up in the setup wizard? Do they show up otherwise on the system?

i also noticed the new databases work awesome. i never got any feedback on them but they seem to match incredibly well.

just to let you know i had a little test of 18.99 with emulators setup and it seems fine to me. i did not mess with plugins or themes though. When run directly on my nas (over fast wifi) i did notice a little delay at startup but directly on my laptop it was instant.

Its easy enough to get it installed. Rufus does it.

Its terrible but it is ewaste in any situation. It costs wasteful resources to ship it to someone where it eventually become ewaste anyway. Ill probably end up hording it for 5 years anyway but my buddy will take the 1660 super as a gift I am sure. I don't have any computer friends or colleagues locally unfortunately. Nobody would even know what it is and its probably only worth $100 and costs that to get rid of it. Everyone's getting excited about AI sex robots in 10 years but more ewaste and harder to dispose of! I have no idea where id put one. I need a bigger flat!

Sorry guys, all that is heading for the trash. The mobo is just screwed into the cab. No case. i can probably find a home for the 1660 super and i am hoping to use the existing psu though.

Thanks. Says not installed and like i said it can't be enabled in the BIOS. Greyed out and says not installed. I was not expecting that either from an i7 9700 but it is what it is. I do tend to update the BIOS on my mobos and yeah you would expect this to be fine. Its a significant upgrade though in just five years. Up to 4 x CPU and GPU and going to 10gb from 1gb ethernet with almost the same power consumption. its actually quite shocking how big an upgrade. Definitely worth it in terms of value.

yeah, i did look. It is literally not installed. That is what the bios states. it cannot be turned on. And if I remember windows 10 said it wasn't compatible. Anyway, nice to be able to justify an upgrade even if it is just to myself!

its full screen windowed setting in the setup wizard but looks like you already have it off. Apart from a few performance improvements that was the main change, You may need to update the mame game list or delete/rename delete data\gamelist.exe. i removed some checks for older versions to improve android performance,

it looks like your not running full screen exclusive so maybe try a reboot. sometimes the display get glitched. in can happen.

i cant see much wrong other than the database for emulator 61. it also seems to take 5 seconds to exit the screensaver. sounds a little long. Do you get a black screen running gameex windowed?

I will need to see the files as normal but the main change in the last release and I dont know what version you were on but was enabling full screen exclusive mode. full screen ualwindowed = false Also, as usual, if you dont want to help, old versions are still there.

Unfortunately the lowest end 4000 series Nvidia GPU out there that i could see. It has similar power consumption to the 1660 super which is why i got it. Probably overkill for Pinball even at 4k. There was 26% off on Amazon UK/

You may need to update the mame list with the latest release. I removed some checks for games lists created with older versions to improve performance a little. if you are having problems updating it then rename/delete data/gamelist.txt
